LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Ram 3500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the model 571338 W2W Mega Step Brackets are designed specifically for 2013-2015 RAM 3500 pickups. However, fitment depends on whether your truck has threaded inserts in the rocker panel or obround holes in the pinchweld. Trucks without these factory features may require drilling.
The 571338 is designed for 2013-2015 RAM 3500 pickups. The manual notes that 2009-2012 trucks do not have obround holes in the pinchweld and will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Installation on 2009-2012 models is not explicitly supported in the standard instructions.
The kit includes: 2 front/middle brackets (LH and RH), 2 middle/front brackets (RH and LH), 1 rear bracket (LH), 1 rear bracket (RH), 2 lower shackle mount brackets, 2 upper shackle mount brackets, 12 carriage bolts (1/4-20 x 1"), 12 flat washers (1/4"), 12 flange nuts (1/4-20), 12 hex head screws (M8 x 25mm), 12 flat washers (5/16"), 6 hex flange nuts (M8), 6 T-bolt weldments, 6 plastic bolt retainers, 6 flat washers (3/8"), 6 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16), and 6 hex head screws (3/8-16 x 1.0").
The manual does not mention battery disconnection. This installation involves mechanical fastening to the rocker panel and leaf spring shackle and does not appear to involve electrical work.
The manual does not specify which tools are required. However, the installation involves fastening bolts, screws, and nuts, so standard wrenches, sockets, and a screwdriver will likely be needed. For trucks without obround holes in the pinchweld, a drill and 5/16" drill bit are required.
Drilling is required only if your truck does not have obround holes in the pinchweld. The manual notes that 2009-2012 RAM trucks lack these holes and will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, position the bracket in place and mark the pinchweld for drilling. 2013-2015 trucks with factory obround holes do not require drilling.
Installation order depends on whether your truck has threaded inserts in the rocker panel. For trucks with threaded inserts: (1) Attach the driver's side front bracket to the pinchweld using carriage bolts and flange nuts, leaving fasteners finger-tight. (2) Insert an M8 x 25mm screw through the upper mounting flange slots, leaving finger-tight. (3) Repeat for middle and rear brackets. (4) Mirror this process on the passenger side. For trucks without threaded inserts, install T-bolt weldments first, then attach brackets using the T-bolts and carriage bolts. Finally, attach upper and lower shackle mount brackets to the leaf spring shackle, and install step plates before final tightening.
For trucks with threaded inserts: (1) Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. (2) Align the two rectangular holes in the lower mounting flange with the obround holes in the pinchweld. (3) Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #7) through the flange and pinchweld. (4) Add a 1/4" flat washer (item #8) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #9) to each bolt, leaving finger-tight. (5) Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #10) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #11) through the upper mounting flange slots, leaving finger-tight. (6) Repeat steps 1-5 for the middle (item #2) and rear (item #3) brackets. (7) On the passenger side, use item #2 for the front bracket, item #1 for the middle bracket, and item #4 for the rear bracket, mirroring the driver's side installation.
For trucks without threaded inserts: (1) Install the T-bolt weldment (item #13) into the large obround hole on the vertical wall of the rocker panel, inserting the nut end first. Be careful not to drop it inside the rocker panel. (2) Attach the plastic bolt retainer (item #14) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling. (3) Place the driver's side front bracket (item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange to the outside. (4) Align the two rectangular holes with the obround holes in the pinchweld. (5) Insert two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #7) through the flange and pinchweld. (6) Add a 1/4" flat washer (item #8) and 1/4-20 flange nut (item #9) to each bolt, leaving finger-tight. (7) Place a flat washer (item #10) and M8 flange nut (item #12) on the T-bolt threaded stud, leaving finger-tight. (8) Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. (9) Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (item #10) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #11), leaving finger-tight. (10) Repeat steps 1-9 for the middle (item #2) and rear (item #3) brackets. (11) On the passenger side, use item #2 for the front bracket, item #1 for the middle bracket, and item #4 for the rear bracket.
The shackle mount brackets attach to the leaf spring shackle: (1) Loosen the bolt that fastens the leaf spring to the vehicle. (2) Slide the upper mounting bracket (item #6) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. (3) Place a 3/8" bolt and washer (items #15, #17) through the hole in the upper mounting bracket and frame bracket. (4) Fasten with a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #16). (5) Tighten the leaf spring bolt, ensuring the upper mounting bracket is level. (6) Fasten the lower bracket (item #5) to the upper bracket (item #6) using a 3/8" bolt, washer, and flange nut (items #15, #16, #17) through the two lower holes in the upper bracket, ensuring it sits level to the front brackets.
All fasteners must be left finger-tight during initial assembly. The manual states: "INSTALL THE STEP PLATES, AND ADJUST BRACKETS, AND BOARDS BEFORE TIGHTENING ALL THE FASTENERS." This means you should install the step plates and adjust all brackets and boards to ensure proper alignment and level positioning before applying final torque to any fasteners.
Driver's side: Use item #1 (front bracket), item #2 (middle bracket), and item #3 (rear bracket). Passenger side: Use item #2 (front bracket), item #1 (middle bracket), and item #4 (rear bracket). The passenger side installation is a mirror image of the driver's side.
The manual does not provide torque specifications for any fasteners. The installation instructions specify only that fasteners be left finger-tight during assembly and adjusted before final tightening. Contact the manufacturer for torque values.
The factory obround holes in the pinchweld are designed to accept 1/4-20 carriage bolts. For trucks without factory obround holes, two 5/16" holes must be drilled for each bracket.
Two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (item #7) per bracket are inserted through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. Each bolt is secured with a 1/4" flat washer (item #8) and a 1/4-20 flange nut (item #9). For the upper mounting flange, an M8 x 25mm screw (item #10) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #11) is used.
The T-bolt weldment (item #13) is secured with a flat washer (item #10) and an M8 flange nut (item #12) on the threaded stud. An M8 x 25mm screw (item #10) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #11) is inserted through the upper mounting flange slots to secure the assembly.
A 3/8" bolt (item #17) with a 3/8" flat washer (item #15) is inserted through the upper mounting bracket (item #6) and frame bracket, then secured with a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #16). The lower bracket (item #5) is attached to the upper bracket using the same fastener configuration (3/8" bolt, washer, and serrated flange nut) through the two lower holes in the upper bracket.
When installing on trucks without threaded inserts, be careful not to drop the T-bolt weldment (item #13) inside the rocker panel. The plastic bolt retainer (item #14) must be attached to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. When drilling holes for trucks without factory obround holes, use appropriate eye protection and follow standard drilling safety procedures.
The manual requires that all brackets and boards be adjusted to sit level before final tightening of fasteners. Ensure the upper shackle mount bracket is level when tightening the leaf spring bolt, and verify that the lower bracket sits level to the front brackets. However, the manual does not specify post-installation inspection procedures or retorque intervals.
Yes, the 571338 W2W Mega Step is designed for 2013-2015 RAM 3500 pickups. Fitment depends on whether your truck has factory threaded inserts or obround holes in the rocker panel.
Drilling is required only if your truck lacks factory obround holes in the pinchweld. You will need to drill two 5/16" holes per bracket. 2013-2015 trucks with factory holes do not require drilling.
Leave all fasteners finger-tight during initial assembly. Tighten them only after installing the step plates and adjusting all brackets and boards to ensure proper level and alignment.
The manual does not provide torque values. Contact the manufacturer for final tightening specifications.
Do not drop the T-bolt weldment inside the rocker panel. The plastic bolt retainer must be attached to prevent loss. Use appropriate safety equipment when drilling.
