LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Ram 2500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately). LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The MEGA BRACKETS model 571438W2W is a mounting bracket system designed for 2014 and newer RAM 2500 Pickups. It consists of front, middle, and rear brackets that attach to the vehicle's pinchweld and suspension link housing to provide a mounting platform.
The MEGA BRACKETS model 571438W2W are designed for 2014 and newer RAM 2500 Pickups only. If your truck is a 2013 or earlier model, or a different RAM model, these brackets will not fit. The manual notes that 2009-2012 trucks do not have obround holes in the pinchweld and would require drilling, but the product is specified for 2014+.
Yes. RAM trucks with threaded inserts in the rocker panel use a simpler installation (steps 2.1–2.4) where M8 X 25mm screws thread directly into the inserts. Trucks without threaded inserts require T-bolt weldments (steps 2.5–2.10) to be installed first, then the brackets attach to the T-bolts. Both methods use the same bracket components but different fastening hardware.
The kit includes: 2 front/middle brackets (left and right), 2 middle/front brackets (right and left), 1 rear left bracket, 1 rear right bracket, 2 upper mounting brackets (left and right inboard), 2 lower mounting brackets, 12 carriage bolts (1/4-20 X 1"), 12 flat washers (1/4"), 12 flange nuts (1/4-20), 12 hex head screws (M8 X 25mm), 12 flat washers (5/16"), 6 hex flange nuts (M8), 6 T-bolt weldments, 6 plastic bolt retainers, 4 hex head screws (3/8-16 X 1.0"), 4 flat washers (3/8"), and 4 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16).
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You should contact Curt Manufacturing or consult with a professional installer to determine what wrenches, sockets, and other tools are needed.
Yes. The manual explicitly states: "READ INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY AND CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL REQUIRED PARTS (LISTED ON THE SERVICE PARTS LIST) ARE ON HAND BEFORE STARTING THE INSTALLATION." Verify all items from the Service Parts List are present before beginning work.
Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) against the pinchweld with the lower mounting flange on the outside. Align the two rectangular holes in the lower flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld. Insert two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #8) through the flange and pinchweld. Add a 1/4" flat washer (Item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #10) to each bolt and leave finger tight. Then insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #12) through the slots on the upper mounting flange and leave finger tight.
The passenger side installation is a mirror image of the driver's side. Use Item #2 (front bracket) for the front position, Item #1 (middle bracket) for the middle position, and Item #4 (rear bracket) for the rear position. Follow the same fastening procedure as the driver's side.
Insert the T-bolt weldment (Item #14) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel's vertical wall, inserting the nut end first and leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel. Attach the flat plastic bolt retainer (Item #15) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel.
Place a flat washer (Item #12) and an M8 flange nut (Item #13) on the threaded stud of the T-bolt (Item #14) and leave finger tight. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (Item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #12) and leave finger tight.
Loosen the bolt that fastens the suspension links to the vehicle. Slide the upper mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6, depending on side) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. Tighten the bolt, ensuring the upper bracket is level. Then fasten the lower bracket (Item #7) to the upper bracket using a 3/8 bolt, washer, and nut (Items #16, #17, #18) through the two lower holes in the upper bracket, making sure it sits level to the front brackets.
Drilling is required only for 2009-2012 RAM trucks, which do not have obround holes in the pinchweld. These trucks require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, position the bracket in place, mark the pinchweld, then drill. 2014 and newer trucks have factory obround holes and do not require drilling.
Drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket in the pinchweld. Position the bracket in place first, mark the pinchweld for drilling, then drill the holes.
The manual does not provide torque specifications for any of the fasteners. Contact Curt Manufacturing or consult a professional installer for the correct torque values for the carriage bolts, flange nuts, hex head screws, and other fasteners.
Leave all fasteners finger tight during the initial installation steps. Section 4 states "INSTALL THE STEP PLATES, AND ADJUST BRACKETS, AND BOARDS BEFORE TIGHTENING ALL THE FASTENERS," indicating that final tightening occurs after step plates are installed and all components are adjusted for proper alignment.
The installation sequence is: (1) Attach the three brackets (front, middle, rear) to the pinchweld on the driver's side, leaving fasteners finger tight. (2) Repeat on the passenger side using the mirror-image bracket configuration. (3) Attach the upper and lower brackets to the suspension link housing. (4) Install step plates and adjust all brackets and boards for proper alignment. (5) Tighten all fasteners.
The passenger side installation is a mirror image of the driver's side. Use Item #2 for the front bracket position, Item #1 for the middle bracket position, and Item #4 for the rear bracket position. This is the opposite of the driver's side, where Item #1 is front, Item #2 is middle, and Item #3 is rear.
Finger tight means tightened by hand only, without using tools. This allows for adjustment of bracket alignment before final tightening with tools. All fasteners should remain finger tight until step 4, when step plates are installed and all brackets are adjusted for proper alignment, at which point they are fully tightened.
When sliding the upper mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6) between the bolt head and frame bracket, tighten the suspension link bolt while checking that the upper bracket sits level. The manual states to "TIGHTEN DOWN THE BOLT MAKING SURE THAT THE UPPER MOUNTING BRACKET (ITEM #5,6) IS LEVEL."
When fastening the lower bracket (Item #7) to the upper bracket (Item #5 or #6) using the 3/8 bolt, washer, and nut through the two lower holes, ensure it sits level to the front brackets before fully tightening. The manual states to make sure "IT SITS LEVEL TO THE FRONT BRACKETS."
Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel when inserting it into the large obround hole. The manual states: "BE CAREFULL NOT TO DROP THE T-BOLT INSIDE OF THE ROCKER PANEL." This is why the plastic bolt retainer (Item #15) must be attached to the threaded stud immediately after insertion to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel.
The MEGA BRACKETS model 571438W2W fit 2014 and newer RAM 2500 Pickups only.
No drilling is required for 2014+ RAM 2500 trucks, which have factory obround holes in the pinchweld. Drilling is only needed for 2009-2012 trucks (which are not the intended application for this product).
No. Leave all fasteners finger tight during installation. Fully tighten them only after installing step plates and adjusting all brackets and boards for proper alignment.
No. Loosen the bolt that fastens the suspension links to the vehicle, slide the upper mounting bracket between the bolt head and frame bracket, then tighten the bolt. The suspension links do not need to be removed.
Yes. The driver's side uses Items #1 (front), #2 (middle), and #3 (rear). The passenger side uses Items #2 (front), #1 (middle), and #4 (rear) in a mirror-image configuration.
No. Some RAM 2500 trucks have threaded inserts and others do not. Trucks with inserts use M8 screws; trucks without inserts require T-bolt weldments. Check your truck's rocker panel to determine which installation method applies.
