LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Ram 2500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the 571438W2W MEGA BRACKETS are designed for 2014 and newer RAM 2500 pickups. The installation method depends on whether your truck has threaded inserts in the rocker panel. Most 2014+ models have these inserts, but some earlier models (2009–2012) do not and will require drilling.
The 571438W2W is designed for 2014+ RAM 2500 pickups. However, 2009–2012 RAM 2500 trucks can be fitted if you drill two 5/16" holes in the pinchweld for each bracket. The manual provides drilling guidance in the note at the end of Section 2.
The kit includes: 2 front/middle brackets (left and right), 1 rear left bracket, 1 rear right bracket, 2 upper mounting brackets for the suspension link, 2 lower brackets, 12 carriage bolts (1/4-20 x 1"), 12 flat washers (1/4"), 12 flange nuts (1/4-20), 12 hex head screws (M8 x 25mm), 12 flat washers (5/16"), 6 hex flange nuts (M8), 6 T-bolt weldments, 6 plastic bolt retainers, 4 hex head screws (3/8-16 x 1.0"), 4 flat washers (3/8"), and 4 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16).
No, drilling is not required for 2014+ RAM 2500 trucks. These models have obround holes already in the pinchweld and threaded inserts in the rocker panel. However, 2009–2012 RAM 2500 trucks without obround holes in the pinchweld will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket.
Place the driver's side front bracket (Item #1) up to the pinchweld so that the lower mounting flange is to the outside of the pinchweld. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinchweld.
The passenger side installation is a mirror image of the driver's side. Use Item #2 (front bracket), Item #1 (middle bracket), and Item #4 (rear bracket) on the passenger side, following the same attachment procedure as the driver's side.
Two 1/4-20 x 1" carriage bolts (Item #8) are inserted through the lower mounting flange and pinchweld. Each bolt is secured with a 1/4" flat washer (Item #9) and 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #10). Leave these fasteners finger tight until all brackets are positioned and level.
An M8 x 25mm hex head screw (Item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #12) is inserted through the slots on the upper mounting flange. For trucks with threaded inserts, this screw threads directly into the insert. Leave finger tight until all brackets are positioned.
Insert the T-bolt weldment (Item #14) into the large obround hole on the vertical wall of the rocker panel, inserting the nut end first. Leave the threaded stud sticking out. Attach the flat plastic bolt retainer (Item #15) to the threaded stud to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel.
Place a 5/16" flat washer (Item #12) and M8 flange nut (Item #13) on the threaded stud of the T-bolt. Rotate the T-bolt so the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. Insert an M8 x 25mm screw (Item #11) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #12) through the slot. Leave all fasteners finger tight until brackets are positioned.
Loosen the bolt that fastens the suspension links to the vehicle. Slide the upper mounting bracket (Item #5 or #6, depending on side) between the bolt head and the frame bracket. Tighten the bolt, ensuring the upper mounting bracket is level.
Fasten the lower bracket (Item #7) to the upper bracket (Item #5 or #6) using the two lower holes in the upper bracket. Use a 3/8" bolt (Item #16), washer (Item #17), and serrated flange nut (Item #18) for each hole. Ensure the lower bracket sits level to the front brackets.
Install the step plates and adjust all brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. This ensures proper alignment and level positioning of all components.
For 2009–2012 RAM 2500 trucks without obround holes in the pinchweld, drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Position the bracket in place and mark the pinchweld for drilling to ensure proper location.
The manual does not provide torque specifications for any fasteners. Contact Curt Manufacturing or consult a qualified installer for proper torque values before final tightening.
Yes, the 571438W2W MEGA BRACKETS are designed for 2014+ RAM 2500 pickups. Installation method varies depending on whether your truck has threaded inserts in the rocker panel.
No, 2014+ RAM 2500 trucks have pre-drilled obround holes in the pinchweld and threaded inserts. Only 2009–2012 models require drilling two 5/16" holes per bracket.
The kit includes 12 carriage bolts (1/4-20 x 1"), 12 flange nuts (1/4-20), 12 hex head screws (M8 x 25mm), 6 T-bolt weldments, 6 plastic bolt retainers, 4 hex head screws (3/8-16 x 1.0"), and corresponding washers and nuts for each.
Leave all fasteners finger tight during bracket positioning. Tighten all fasteners only after installing step plates and adjusting all brackets and boards to ensure proper level alignment.
Insert the T-bolt weldment nut-end first into the obround hole. Attach the plastic bolt retainer to the threaded stud. Rotate the T-bolt so the nut is visible through the slotted hole, then insert the M8 x 25mm screw with washer. Leave finger tight until all brackets are positioned.
Fasten the lower bracket (Item #7) to the upper bracket using two 3/8" bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts in the lower holes. Ensure the lower bracket is level to the front brackets before final tightening.
