MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).

Yes, the Curt 570939/400939 W2W MEGA/GRIP step brackets are designed for 09-16 RAM 1500 pickups. Confirm your truck is within this model year range before purchasing.
The kit includes: front, center, and rear mounting brackets (left and right); W2W inboard and outboard brackets; W2W support brackets; load reaction studs (3" and 4"); serrated flange nuts, flat washers, rubber cushion washers, and hex screws in various sizes (M12, 3/8", 1/2", and 5/16"). A complete parts list with part numbers and quantities is provided in the manual. Verify all parts are present before starting installation.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts from the right side of the vehicle. These factory bolts will not be reused. The new M12–110mm bolts (item #13) supplied in the kit replace them.
1. On the short threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards to the bottom of the thread, then a 3/8" flat washer and rubber cushion washer tight against the nut. The stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 2. On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards near the bottom of the threads. Use a 4" stud (item #19) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (item #18) for the rear brackets.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a flange nut on the outboard end of the stud, finger tight only at this stage.
Leave all fasteners finger-tight during the initial installation steps. Do not fully tighten until step 7, after all brackets are positioned. This allows for proper alignment before final tightening.
Use one M12–110mm bolt (item #13) and one 2.0" washer (item #14) per bracket. Install to the front body mount and leave finger-tight until final tightening.

Use one M12–110mm bolt (item #13) and one 1/2" flat washer (item #21) per bracket. Install to the rear body mount and leave finger-tight until final tightening. If a cast iron dampener is present on the rear body mount, remove it first—it will not be reused.
Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (item #7 or #8) to the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #5 or #6) in the lower mounting holes using three 3/8-16 X 1.0 screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #20, #16, #17).
Attach the inboard mounting brackets (item #9 or #10) to the frame using 1/2-13 X 1.00 hex screws, 1/2" washers, and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (items #22, #21, #23). Leave this bracket loose at this time. Note that these mounting brackets are not the same from left to right.
Attach the W2W support bracket (item #12) to the inboard mounting bracket using two 3/8-16 X 1" hex screws, two 3/8" washers, and two 3/8-16 flange nuts (items #20, #16, #17). Also attach it to the frame using one 1/2"-13 X 1" hex screw, one 1/2" washer, and one 1/2"-13 serrated flange nut (items #22, #21, #23). Leave this bracket loose at this time.
Install the W2W outboard mounting bracket (item #11) to the inboard W2W bracket using two black 5/16"-18 X 1" hex screws, two black 5/16" washers, and two black 5/16"-18 flange nuts (items #25, #26, #24). Leave this bracket loose at this time.
Tighten the 1/2"-13 flange nuts to 60 lb-ft.
Tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb-ft. Position the load reaction stud assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame before tightening.
Tighten all bolts and nuts in step 7, after all brackets are positioned. First tighten all bolts and nuts on the rear W2W bracket, tighten the 1/2"-13 flange nuts to 60 lb-ft, then tighten all remaining body mount bolts. Finally, in step 8, tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on the load reaction studs to 19 lb-ft.
Yes. The step plate is attached per instructions included with the step plate assembly. These instructions are not provided in this bracket installation manual.
The Curt 570939/400939 W2W MEGA/GRIP step brackets fit 09-16 RAM 1500 pickups only.
