LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The 570938 W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS are designed for 09-16 RAM 1500 pickups. However, installation differs depending on whether your truck has threaded inserts in the rocker panel. 2009-2012 RAM 1500 trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Verify your truck's rocker panel configuration before purchasing.
RAM trucks with threaded inserts in the rocker panel use M8 X 25mm screws (item #21) with 5/16" flat washers (item #22) inserted through slots on the upper mounting flange. Trucks without threaded inserts require T-bolt weldments (item #24) to be installed into large obround holes in the rocker panel vertical wall, with an M8 flange nut (item #23) and flat washer (item #22) on the threaded stud, then an M8 X 25mm screw (item #21) inserted through the slotted hole. A plastic bolt retainer (item #25) must be attached to the T-bolt to prevent it from falling into the rocker panel.
Yes. 2009-2012 RAM 1500 trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, install the T-bolt weldment (item #24) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall, then with the bracket in place, mark the pinch weld for drilling. Drill the two 5/16" holes at the marked locations.
The kit includes: 12 carriage bolts 1/4-20 X 1" (item #18), 12 flat washers 1/4" (item #19), 12 flange nuts 1/4-20 (item #20), 12 M8 X 25mm screws (item #21), 12 flat washers 5/16" (item #22), 6 M8 flange nuts (item #23), 6 T-bolt weldments (item #24), 6 plastic bolt retainers 8mm (item #25), 4 hex screws 3/8-16 X 1" (item #9), 4 flat washers 1/2" (item #10), 4 hex screws 1/2-13 X 1" (item #11), 4 flange nuts 1/2-13 (item #12), 4 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (item #13), 4 hex screws 5/16-18 X 1" (item #14), 4 flat washers 5/16" (item #15), 4 flat washers 3/8" (item #16), and 4 serrated flange nuts 3/8-16 (item #17).
For trucks with threaded inserts: (1) Attach the front bracket (item #1) to the pinch weld using two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (item #18), 1/4" flat washers (item #19), and 1/4-20 flange nuts (item #20), leaving finger tight. (2) Insert an M8 X 25mm screw (item #21) with a 5/16" flat washer (item #22) through the slots on the upper mounting flange, leaving finger tight. (3) Repeat for the middle bracket (item #2) and rear bracket (item #3). For trucks without threaded inserts, follow the same sequence but use T-bolt weldments (item #24) with M8 flange nuts (item #23) and flat washers (item #22) on the threaded stud before inserting the M8 X 25mm screw.
The passenger side installation is a mirror image of the driver's side. Use item #2 (front bracket) for the front position, item #1 (middle bracket) for the middle position, and item #4 (rear bracket) for the rear position. Follow the same fastening sequence as the driver's side: attach to the pinch weld with carriage bolts and flange nuts (or T-bolts on trucks without threaded inserts), then secure the upper mounting flange with M8 X 25mm screws and flat washers, leaving all fasteners finger tight until final tightening.
The inboard mounting brackets (items #6 and #7) attach to the frame using 1/2-13 X 1.00" hex screws (item #11), 1/2" washers (item #10), and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (item #12), left loose initially. Note that these brackets are not the same left to right. The W2W support bracket (item #8) attaches to the inboard bracket using two 3/8-16 X 1" hex screws (item #9), two 3/8" washers (item #16), and two 3/8-16 flange nuts (item #17), and also to the frame using a 1/2-13 X 1" hex screw (item #11), 1/2" washer (item #10), and 1/2-13 serrated flange nut (item #12), left loose initially. The W2W outboard bracket (item #5) attaches to the inboard bracket using two black 5/16-18 X 1" hex screws (item #14), two black 5/16" washers (item #15), and two black 5/16-18 flange nuts (item #13), left loose initially.
All fasteners should be left finger tight during the initial installation of the mounting brackets to the rocker panel, pinch weld, and frame. The manual states to install the step plates and adjust brackets and boards before tightening all fasteners. However, specific torque values and the final tightening sequence are not provided in the manual.
When installing the T-bolt weldment (item #24) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall, insert the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud sticking out. Immediately attach the flat plastic bolt retainer (item #25) to the threaded stud. This retainer is essential to keep the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel. Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel during installation.
You need to drill two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, install the T-bolt weldment (item #24) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel vertical wall, then with the bracket in place, mark the pinch weld for drilling. Drill the two 5/16" holes at the marked locations.
The system includes six main bracket types: driver's side front bracket (item #1), driver's side middle bracket (item #2), driver's side rear bracket (item #3), passenger's side rear bracket (item #4), W2W outboard mounting brackets (item #5, qty 2), W2W inboard mounting brackets (items #6 and #7, left and right), and W2W support brackets (item #8, qty 2). These are secured to the vehicle's rocker panel pinch weld and frame using various carriage bolts, hex screws, washers, and flange nuts.
Yes, the 570938 W2W MEGA STEP is designed for 09-16 RAM 1500 pickups. However, 2009-2012 models without obround holes in the pinch weld require drilling two 5/16" holes per bracket.
Yes, all fasteners are included: carriage bolts, hex screws, washers, flange nuts, serrated flange nuts, T-bolt weldments, and plastic bolt retainers. Verify all parts against the SERVICE PARTS LIST before starting installation.
Only if you have a 2009-2012 RAM 1500 without obround holes in the pinch weld. You will need to drill two 5/16" holes per bracket. 2013-2016 models with threaded inserts do not require drilling.
Leave all fasteners finger tight during initial installation. Tighten them only after installing the step plates and adjusting all brackets and boards. Specific torque values are not provided in the manual.
No. The inboard mounting brackets (items #6 and #7) are not the same from left to right. Item #6 is the right inboard bracket and item #7 is the left inboard bracket.
