LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The CURT 570938 W2W MEGA STEP is designed for 09-16 RAM 1500 pickups. However, installation differs depending on whether your truck has threaded inserts in the rocker panel. Trucks from 2009-2012 without obround holes in the pinch weld will require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. Check your rocker panel for existing threaded inserts or obround holes before purchasing to confirm compatibility with your specific truck.
The kit includes six mounting brackets (front, middle, and rear for both driver and passenger sides), two W2W outboard brackets, two W2W inboard brackets, one W2W support bracket, and all fasteners: carriage bolts, hex screws, washers, flange nuts, serrated flange nuts, T-bolt weldments, and plastic bolt retainers. See the Service Parts List for complete part numbers and quantities.
The manual does not specify removal of any components. Installation involves attaching brackets to the pinch weld and rocker panel on the side of the truck and to the frame and bed. However, you should read the complete instructions and verify all parts are present before starting installation.
Driver side uses: front bracket (Item #1), middle bracket (Item #2), and rear bracket (Item #3). Passenger side uses: front bracket (Item #2), middle bracket (Item #1), and rear bracket (Item #4). The brackets are not the same left to right, so correct orientation is critical. The inboard mounting brackets (Items #6 and #7) are also different from left to right and must not be interchanged.
Yes. 2009-2012 RAM 1500 trucks do not have obround holes in the pinch weld and require drilling two 5/16" holes for each bracket. To locate the holes, install the T-bolt weldment into the large obround hole in the rocker panel and position the bracket in place, then mark the pinch weld for drilling. After marking, drill the two 5/16" holes and proceed with fastener installation.
Trucks with threaded inserts use M8 X 25mm screws (Item #21) with 5/16" flat washers (Item #22) through the upper mounting flange slots. Trucks without threaded inserts require installing a T-bolt weldment (Item #24) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel first, then securing it with a flat washer (Item #22) and M8 flange nut (Item #23) before inserting the M8 X 25mm screw. A plastic bolt retainer (Item #25) must be attached to the T-bolt to prevent it from falling into the rocker panel.
The lower mounting flange must be positioned to the outside of the pinch weld. Align the two rectangular holes of the lower mounting flange with the two obround holes in the pinch weld, then insert the two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts through the flange and pinch weld.
Two 1/4-20 X 1" carriage bolts (Item #18) are inserted through the lower mounting flange and pinch weld. On the back side, each bolt receives a 1/4" flat washer (Item #19) and a 1/4-20 flange nut (Item #20). All fasteners should be left finger tight until final assembly is complete.
Inboard mounting brackets attach to the frame using 1/2-13 X 1.00" hex screws (Item #11), 1/2" washers (Item #10), and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (Item #12). The W2W support bracket attaches to the inboard bracket using two 3/8-16 X 1" hex screws (Item #9), two 3/8" washers (Item #16), and two 3/8-16 flange nuts (Item #17), and to the frame using one 1/2-13 X 1" hex screw (Item #11), one 1/2" washer (Item #10), and one 1/2-13 serrated flange nut (Item #12). The W2W outboard bracket attaches to the inboard bracket using two black 5/16-18 X 1" hex screws (Item #14), two black 5/16" washers (Item #15), and two black 5/16-18 flange nuts (Item #13). All fasteners should be left loose until step plates are installed and adjusted.
All fasteners should be left finger tight during initial installation. Final tightening occurs after the step plates are installed and all brackets and boards are adjusted. The manual does not provide specific torque values for final tightening.
Six mounting brackets are required: one front left (Item #1), one front right (Item #2), one middle left (Item #2), one middle right (Item #1), one rear left (Item #3), and one rear right (Item #4). Additionally, two W2W outboard brackets (Item #5), two W2W inboard brackets (Items #6 and #7), and two W2W support brackets (Item #8) are needed.
The plastic bolt retainer (Item #25) is attached to the threaded stud of the T-bolt weldment to prevent the T-bolt from falling into the rocker panel during installation on trucks without threaded inserts.
Insert the T-bolt weldment (Item #24) into the large obround hole in the rocker panel with the nut end first, leaving the threaded stud sticking out of the hole. Be careful not to drop the T-bolt inside the rocker panel. Attach the plastic bolt retainer (Item #25) to the threaded stud to keep the T-bolt from falling. Then place a flat washer (Item #22) and M8 flange nut (Item #23) on the threaded stud and leave finger tight.
After installing the T-bolt weldment and securing it with the washer and flange nut, rotate the T-bolt so that the threaded nut is visible through the slotted hole in the upper mounting flange. Then insert the M8 X 25mm screw (Item #21) with a 5/16" flat washer (Item #22) through the slot.
Yes, the CURT 570938 W2W MEGA STEP is designed for 09-16 RAM 1500 pickups. Installation varies depending on whether your truck has threaded inserts in the rocker panel; 2009-2012 trucks without obround holes require drilling two 5/16" holes per bracket.
Drilling is required only on 2009-2012 RAM 1500 trucks that lack obround holes in the pinch weld. Two 5/16" holes per bracket must be drilled after positioning the bracket and marking the pinch weld.
The kit includes carriage bolts, hex screws, flat washers, flange nuts, serrated flange nuts, T-bolt weldments, and plastic bolt retainers. See the Service Parts List for specific part numbers, sizes, and quantities of each fastener type.
Leave all fasteners finger tight during initial installation. Tighten them only after the step plates are installed and all brackets and boards are adjusted. The manual does not specify final torque values.
Yes. Driver side and passenger side use different bracket combinations. Inboard mounting brackets (Items #6 and #7) are also different left to right and cannot be interchanged. Correct orientation is critical for proper installation.
The manual does not specify removal of the rocker panel. Installation involves attaching brackets to the pinch weld and rocker panel without removal.
