LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards give you the best of both worlds with a ready-to-work construction and the stylish of popular nerf bars. They feature high-traction rubber treads, a sleek finish and a non-corrosive build -- all to give you dependable footing whether you're headed for work or play. MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards are uniquely designed with extra length on the rear of the boards, reaching all the way to the back wheels. This provides a convenient and secure step for reaching into the truck bed and accessing the crossover truck tool box, headache rack or 5th wheel hitch. The entire length of the running boards is covered with a non-skid rubber tread for enhanced safety, even in wet, rainy conditions. Unlike plastic treads, rubber offers better grip for your boots or shoes. The base of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is an extruded aluminum alloy, providing excellent strength, while remaining lightweight and completely rust-free. To give these truck side steps a touch of style, they are fitted with a polished stainless steel trim that contours around the boards and gives them a look similar to popular nerf bars. The trim piece is polished to a mirror-like shine and easily withstands rain, snow, dirt and more. To make installation fast, easy and secure, LUVERNE MegaStep wheel-to-wheel steps are made vehicle-specific. Each set has a specific board length and vehicle-specific brackets, providing a custom fit for each unique truck. The brackets install using pre-existing mounting points to eliminate difficult modifications, and the running boards can be positioned inward, outward, forward or backward to suit personal preferences. This particular set of MegaStep wheel-to-wheel running boards is designed for specific years of the Ram 1500 and Dodge Ram 1500 (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE MegaStep 6-1/2" wheel-to-wheel running boards are the ultimate combination of style and functionality, featuring 5" wide rubber treads that extend the full length of the side steps for dependable, non-skid traction wherever the road takes you.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, the Curt 570939/400939 W2W MEGA/GRIP Step Brackets are designed for 09-16 RAM 1500 pickups. The installation involves replacing factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts with the bracket mounting hardware, so fitment is specific to this model range.
The kit includes: front, center, and rear mounting brackets (left and right); W2W inboard and outboard mounting brackets; W2W support brackets; load reaction studs (3" and 4"); M12 and 1/2" hex screws; 3/8" and 5/16" serrated flange nuts; flat washers in multiple sizes; rubber cushion washers; and 2.0" washers. A complete parts list with part numbers and quantities is provided in the manual. The step plate assembly is ordered separately and includes its own instructions.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts from the right side of the vehicle. These factory bolts will not be reused. They are replaced with M12–110mm bolts (item #13) and washers supplied in the kit. If a cast iron dampener is present on the rear body mount, it must also be removed and will not be reused.
1. On the short threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #17) backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a 3/8" flat washer (item #16) and rubber cushion washer (item #15) tight against the serrated flange nut. The stud end must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #17) backwards near the bottom of the threads. Use a 4" stud (item #19) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (item #18) for the rear brackets.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame) side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the frame side wall. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #17) on the outboard end of the stud, but leave it finger tight only at this stage. Final tightening occurs after all brackets are positioned.
Both the front and center mounting brackets use M12–110mm bolts (item #13) and 2.0" washers (item #14). Install these fasteners at the front and center body mounts and leave them finger tight until all brackets are in place. The rear mounting bracket uses the same M12–110mm bolts but with 1/2" flat washers (item #21) instead.
The rear outboard mounting bracket (item #7 or #8) is attached to the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #5 or #6) in the lower mounting holes using three 3/8-16 X 1.0 screws (item #20), 3/8" flat washers (item #16), and 3/8" serrated flange nuts (item #17). Leave these fasteners finger tight until final assembly.
Attach the inboard mounting brackets (item #9 or #10) to the frame using 1/2-13 X 1.00 hex screws (item #22), 1/2" flat washers (item #21), and 1/2-13 serrated flange nuts (item #23). Leave these brackets loose at this stage. Note that these mounting brackets are not the same from left to right, so ensure correct left/right positioning.
The W2W support bracket (item #12) is attached in two places: (1) to the inboard mounting bracket using two 3/8-16 X 1" hex screws (item #20), two 3/8" flat washers (item #16), and two 3/8-16 serrated flange nuts (item #17); and (2) to the frame using a 1/2"-13 X 1" hex screw (item #22), a 1/2" flat washer (item #21), and a 1/2"-13 serrated flange nut (item #23). Leave all fasteners loose at this stage.
The W2W outboard mounting bracket (item #11) is attached to the inboard W2W bracket using two black 5/16"-18 X 1" hex screws (item #25), two black 5/16" flat washers (item #26), and two black 5/16"-18 serrated flange nuts (item #24). Leave these fasteners loose until final tightening.
Tighten the 1/2"-13 serrated flange nuts to 60 lb-ft. This torque is applied after all brackets are positioned and before tightening the remaining body mount bolts.
Tighten the 3/8" serrated flange nuts on either side of the load reaction stud assembly to 19 lb-ft. Before tightening, position the load reaction stud assembly so that the rubber cushion washer is snug against the side of the frame.
Installation involves two tightening stages: (1) All fasteners are left finger tight or loose during initial bracket positioning. (2) Final tightening occurs after all brackets are in place: tighten the 1/2"-13 flange nuts on the rear W2W bracket to 60 lb-ft, tighten all remaining body mount bolts, and tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on the load reaction studs to 19 lb-ft (after positioning the rubber cushion snug against the frame).
Yes. The step plate is installed per instructions included with the step plate assembly, not in the bracket installation manual. Attach the step plate after all brackets are mounted and positioned.
The parts list shows both MS and GRIP versions of the front, center, rear, and W2W mounting brackets, with different part numbers for each. However, the installation instructions do not explain the functional differences between these versions. Consult the manufacturer or your supplier to determine which version is appropriate for your application.
Yes, it fits 2009–2016 RAM 1500 pickups. Installation requires replacing factory body mount bolts.
Yes. The step plate is ordered separately and includes its own installation instructions. The bracket kit does not include the step plate.
No. Factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts are removed and not reused. They are replaced with M12–110mm bolts supplied in the kit.
Tighten 1/2"-13 flange nuts to 60 lb-ft and 3/8" flange nuts on load reaction studs to 19 lb-ft. All other fasteners are left finger tight or loose during assembly, then tightened after positioning.
Only if present. If a cast iron dampener is on the rear body mount, remove it—it will not be reused.
Use a 4" stud (item #19) for the front bracket and a 3" stud (item #18) for the rear brackets.
