LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel steps are the perfect side steps for offroad trucks and work trucks alike. They feature an aggressive look, highly functional step pads, a non-corrosive construction and a vehicle-specific fit. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are truly modern side steps for modern trucks. With their oval-shaped board profile, rounded end caps and angular step pads, they provide an aggressive look. The step pads also feature a unique cutout pattern and raised circular treads for an unmistakable accent. O-Mega II side steps are not only built for style, but they offer superior safety every time you climb into the cab. The step pads are made from aluminum to outlast the harsh elements and ensure maximum traction and wear resistance for the raised treads. These wheel-to-wheel steps are extra-long and are equipped with additional step pads toward the rear, giving you a solid and convenient step for reach into the truck bed. They?re perfect for accessing a truck tool box, headache rack, 5th wheel hitch or cargo in the truck bed. To ensure that LUVERNE O-Mega II oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are able to withstand anything the road or trail throws your way, they are constructed from aluminum alloy. Aluminum supplies dependable strength and rigidity, while maintaining unparalleled corrosion resistance and a lightweight design. These side steps and the step pads are also protected in a durable powder coat finish. The boards are available in your choice of carbide black or chrome powder coat. O-Mega II wheel-to-wheel steps are engineered for a fast, easy, secure installation, featuring vehicle-specific brackets for a custom fit. This particular set is designed to fit specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application information to verify fitment; brackets included but shipped separately).
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval wheel-to-wheel side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II 6" OVAL STEPS package includes two extrusion assemblies (available in silver or black aluminum in various lengths: 95.0", 99.0", 105.0", 111.0", or 122.0"), step pads, end caps, square head bolts, serrated flange nuts, and TEK screws. The exact extrusion length depends on your model number (583098, 583102, 583108, 583114, 583125, 584098, 584102, 584114, or 584125). A specific bracket package must be purchased separately to mount the steps to your vehicle.
The W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS model 571117 are designed for 2011 and newer 1500/2500/3500 Series Chevrolet and GMC Regular, Extended, and Crew Cab Pickups. If your truck is a different year, model series, or cab style, you will need a different bracket package. The manual does not provide compatibility information for other vehicle makes or models.
The W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS model 571117 are compatible with Regular Cab pickups. However, Regular Cab applications will only use the front and center mounting brackets (items #2, #3, #4, #5) and will not use the rear cab mounting bracket assembly. Extended and Crew Cab models use all mounting brackets.
The manual does not specify which tools are required for installation. You should contact the manufacturer or your installer to confirm the tools needed before beginning installation.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) to install the mounting brackets. The manual notes that 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles have excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area, so use caution when removing bolts to avoid damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
The manual does not specify whether the battery must be disconnected. Contact the manufacturer or a qualified installer for guidance.
Yes. Before attaching the O-MEGA II steps to the brackets, you must drill five (5) 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with five (5) 8-18×1/2" TEK screws (item #6). Repeat this process for all step pads. Note: Due to the shortness of some boxes, mount the box step pad first, approximately ½" from the end cap, then mount the middle step pad accordingly.
No permanent modifications such as drilling, cutting, or welding are required. The brackets attach to existing factory body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts. However, factory bolts must be removed and reinstalled as part of the mounting process.
The nuts on the end caps (item #3) should be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws (item #4) should be tightened to 19 LB FT.
All 3/8" bolts and nuts on the W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS should be tightened to 19 LB FT, except where otherwise specified. The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws attaching the step to the brackets should also be tightened to 19 LB FT. Factory body mount bolts and spring hanger bolts must be retightened to manufacturer specifications after installation.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet #2 to position the step pads for your particular vehicle. The guide provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for Silverado/Sierra (Double, Extended, and Crew Cab), Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana Vans, RAM (Quad, Crew, and Mega Cab), and Ford F150 and Super Duty models. Note: These pad locations are suggestions only and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The installation sequence is: (1) Assemble the load reaction studs and hardware; (2) Attach the load reaction stud assemblies to the body mounting brackets; (3) Remove factory body mount bolts and install the front, center, and rear mounting brackets (finger tight); (4) For Extended and Crew Cab, attach the rear outboard bracket to the rear inboard bracket and torque to 19 LB FT; (5) Attach the spring hanger mounting brackets; (6) Attach the step to the mounting brackets; (7) Tighten all fasteners to specification. Work one side of the vehicle at a time when removing and installing body mount bolts.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #16), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #14) and rubber cushion washer (item #13) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #15) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Yes. If you are mounting the W2W MEGA STEP BRACKETS on a 1500 model pickup, you must attach bracket 551571 (item #23) to brackets 551902 (items #2 and #3) in order to use the load reaction stud.
Insert four (4) square head screws (or three [3] if using cab length boards) into the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the center two (2) slots of the brackets and the front of the step is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well. Locate the step in and out as desired, then install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
Loosen the spring hanger bolt just enough so that the inboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #10) can be slid up behind the flange of the bolt. Position the inboard bracket behind the flange with the channel open to the outboard side. Install the outboard spring hanger mounting bracket (item #9) so that its inboard vertical portion fits inside the channel of the inboard bracket, using 3/8" zinc plated bolts, washers, 1/2" washers, and 3/8" zinc plated NYLOCK nuts (items #18-#21). Leave fasteners finger tight until final tightening.
During installation, leave the following fasteners finger tight until final tightening: front mounting bracket fasteners (step 4.1), center mounting bracket fasteners (step 4.2), rear inboard mounting bracket fasteners (step 4.3), and spring hanger mounting bracket fasteners (step 5.2). Tighten all fasteners to specification only after the step is positioned and all brackets are in place.
The rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #6 and #7) must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #8), towards the rear of the vehicle. Use the bottom single hole and bottom double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put the bolts through the front side of the bracket so the serrated flange nuts are on the back side to allow clearance for the frame of the truck. Torque the bolts to 19 LB FT.
The rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #6 and #7) must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #8), towards the rear of the vehicle. Use the bottom single hole and top double holes in the rear inboard bracket. Put the bolts through the front side of the bracket so the serrated flange nuts are on the back side to allow clearance for the frame of the truck. Torque the bolts to 19 LB FT.
After installation, verify that all fasteners are tightened to specification: body mount bolts to manufacturer specs, spring hanger bolts to manufacturer specs, and all 3/8" bolts/nuts and 5/16" serrated flange nuts to 19 LB FT. Ensure the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle and positioned so the front is about even with the rear metallic flange of the front wheel well.
CURT Group recommends regular inspection and maintenance of the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E: Clunking Noise from Rear of Vehicle (Re-torque Leaf Spring Bolts) for 2007-2017 Chevrolet and GMC Trucks. Failure to regularly inspect and maintain factory-recommended torque values may result in damage to the vehicle.
Yes, if it is a 1500, 2500, or 3500 Series in Regular, Extended, or Crew Cab configuration. Other vehicles require a different bracket package.
Yes, you must drill five (5) 1/8" holes per step pad using the pad as a guide, then attach with 8-18×1/2" TEK screws.
Yes, you must remove factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side at a time) and reinstall them through the mounting brackets.
All 3/8" bolts and 5/16" serrated flange nuts should be tightened to 19 LB FT. End cap nuts on O-MEGA II steps are 5 LB FT. Factory body mount and spring hanger bolts must be retightened to manufacturer specifications.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet #2, which provides specific measurements for your vehicle model. Pad locations are suggestions and may be adjusted at your discretion.
No, Regular Cab applications use only the front and center mounting brackets (items #2, #3, #4, #5) and do not use the rear cab mounting bracket assembly.
Regularly inspect and maintain the leaf spring attachment point per GM Technical Service Bulletin 09-03-09-001E, re-torquing leaf spring bolts to factory specifications to prevent damage to the vehicle.
