Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD or Tahoe and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD or Yukon (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

Curt Manufacturing offers six O-MEGA II 6" Oval Step models: 583072, 583078, 583088 (silver finish) and 584072, 584078, 584088 (black finish). The numbers indicate different extrusion lengths: 69.0", 75.0", and 85.0" respectively. All models are universal application and use the same installation process.
MEGA Steps are designed for 2007 and newer GM Silverado & Sierra Crew Cab pickups, 2007 and newer GM Tahoe & Suburban without factory side steps, 2007 Chevy Avalanche without factory side steps, and 2007 GM Silverado & Sierra Extended Cab. They are not compatible with vehicles that have factory side steps.
O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are universal application. However, you must use the bracket package specific to your vehicle. The manual includes a step pad location guide for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Ram, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma models.
Each O-MEGA II step kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (silver or black), 4 step pads, 4 end caps, 24 square head bolts (5/16"-18 x 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18), and 20 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). The specific extrusion length depends on the model (69.0", 75.0", or 85.0").
MEGA Steps include: 1 step assembly (78.00" or 88.00" depending on vehicle), 6 nylon spacer washers, 12 M8 x 30 x 1.25 screws, 14 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18), 6 square head screws (5/16"-18 x 1.00"), 6 mounting brackets, 12 flat washers (5/16"), 6 M8 flanged nuts, 6 5/16" x 1.00" screws, 6 U-nuts (5/16"-18), and 6 pinch weld support brackets.

Yes. When installing step pads on the steps, you must drill 5 holes using the step pad as a guide. Use a 1/8" drill bit for each hole. The pads are then attached with 5 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2") provided in the kit. This process must be repeated for all step pads.
Before attaching step pads to the step plates, use the Step Pad Location Guide on Sheet 2 to determine the correct position for your vehicle. The guide provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations for each vehicle model. Note that these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
1. Install step pads on step plates using 1/8" holes and tek screws. 2. Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 3. Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 lb ft. 4. Position the step on mounting brackets so square head screws are in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear. 5. Install serrated flange nuts on square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
Install the end caps (Item #3) as shown in Figure 1, tightening the nuts to 5 lb ft. End caps are plastic components measuring 2.95 x 6.70 inches.
Position the step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
1. Attach mounting brackets to the vehicle using U-nuts or flanged nuts as specified in the vehicle application drawing. 2. Insert nylon washers between the mounting bracket and rocker panel, then install screws, washers, and nuts, tightening to 19 lb ft. Place pinch weld support bracket above the pinch weld area. 3. Insert three 5/16" square head screws in the center slot on the underside of the step. 4. Position the step on mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, centered front to rear. 5. Install serrated flange nuts on square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
The distance between the front bracket and the second bracket is 24 inches.
Attach the top of the mounting brackets to the vehicle using either U-nuts or flanged nuts. The specific fastener type depends on your vehicle application—refer to the attached drawings for your specific vehicle. Insert a nylon washer (Item #2) between the top of the mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel, then install the screw (Item #3), washer (Item #7), and nut (Item #8). Place the pinch weld support bracket above the pinch weld area. Tighten to 19 lb ft.
Tighten end cap nuts to 5 lb ft.
Tighten 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws to 19 lb ft.
Tighten mounting bracket fasteners (screws, washers, and nuts) to 19 lb ft. Also tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws to 19 lb ft.
Square head bolts are 5/16"-18 x 1" (Item #4). A total of 24 bolts are provided in each kit.
Tek screws are #8-18 x 1/2" stainless steel, bright zinc plated (Item #6). Five screws are used per step pad, and 20 screws are provided in each kit.
Nylon spacer washers are 0.312" ID x 1.24" OD x 0.25" thick (Item #2). Six washers are provided in each kit.
Mounting screws are M8 x 30 x 1.25 stainless steel, bright zinc plated (Item #3). Twelve screws are provided in each kit.
MEGA Steps are available in two lengths: 78.00" (Model 575078) for Tahoe and Extended Cab, and 88.00" (Model 575088) for Suburban and Crew Cab.
O-MEGA II steps are available in three extrusion lengths: 69.0" (Models 583072 and 584072), 75.0" (Models 583078 and 584078), and 85.0" (Models 583088 and 584088). Silver finish models are 583xxx series; black finish models are 584xxx series.
