Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comforta ble entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The MEGA STEP Bracket model 571113 is designed for 2011 and newer GM Extended and Crew Cab pickups (Silverado and Sierra). If you have a different truck model, year, or cab style, you will need a different bracket package. The O-MEGA II steps (models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, 584088) are universal application and require a vehicle-specific bracket package.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps (models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, 584088) are universal application, but they require a vehicle-specific bracket package to mount to your truck. You must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package for your vehicle. The bracket package is sold separately.
Each O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 step extrusions (available in 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0" lengths, in silver or black), 4 step pads, 4 end caps, 24 square head screws (5/16-18 x 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 20 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). The bracket package and mounting hardware are sold separately and vary by vehicle.
The MEGA STEP Bracket kit (571113) includes: front, center, and rear mounting brackets (left and right), load reaction studs, serrated flange nuts, flat washers, rubber cushion washers, square head screws, angle brackets for 1500 trucks, and hardware. The MEGA STEP board assembly is sold separately. Specific quantities and part numbers are listed in the service parts list.
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) to install the mounting brackets. The manual notes that due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, use caution when removing these bolts to reduce the risk of damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle. After installing the brackets, you must reinstall and tighten the body mount bolts per the manufacturer's specifications.
Before attaching the O-MEGA II steps to the brackets, place the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on Sheet 2 to position the pads for your specific vehicle model. The guide provides two pad locations (Pad A and Pad B) measured in inches from a reference point. Note that these locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Yes. When installing the pads on the steps, you must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with 5 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2", stainless steel, provided). This drilling is required for each step pad.
The end caps (Item #3) should be tightened to 5 LB FT.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) that secure the square head screws (Item #4) to the mounting brackets should be tightened to 19 LB FT.
Position the O-MEGA II step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (Item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 LB FT.
The load reaction stud assembly (Item #14) is assembled as follows: (1) On the short threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #13) backwards to the bottom of the thread. (2) Install a black 3/8" flat washer (Item #12) and rubber cushion washer (Item #11) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". (3) On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (Item #13) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame side) through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body brackets that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (Item #13) on the outboard end of the stud and finger tighten. For 1500 trucks, you must also assemble the load reaction bolt to the front brackets using the supplied angle bracket (Item #17) as shown in Figure 1.
Install the brackets one side of the vehicle at a time in this order: (1) Install the front mounting bracket (Items #2 and #3) to the front cab mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. (2) Install the center mounting bracket (Items #4 and #5) to the center cab mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. (3) Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (Item #8) and washer (Item #16) to the rear cab mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. For extended cab only, also install the rear outboard bracket (Items #6 and #7) to the rear inboard bracket using 3/8" bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts, and tighten these bolts. For crew cab, follow the same procedure with the crew cab configuration shown in Figure 3.
Insert three (3) 5/16" square head screws (Item #9) in the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the center two (2) slots of the brackets. Center the step on the cab front to back. Locate the step in and out as desired and install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #10) on the square head screws, then tighten the nuts.
Adjust the stud assembly so that the rubber washer is firm against the side of the frame and tighten the flange nuts on either side of the step mounting bracket flange. Then tighten the body mount bolts per the manufacturer's specifications.
Yes. If you are mounting the MEGA STEP Brackets (571113) on a 1500 truck, you must assemble the load reaction bolt to the front brackets using the supplied angle bracket (Item #17) as shown in Figure 1.
Yes. The manual explicitly states to read the instructions completely and check that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting the installation. This applies to both the O-MEGA II steps and the MEGA STEP Brackets.
2011 and newer GM Extended and Crew Cab pickups (Silverado and Sierra). The O-MEGA II steps are universal but require a vehicle-specific bracket package.
Yes. You must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter in each step pad using the pad as a guide, then attach with 5 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2").
Yes. You must remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts (one side at a time) to install the brackets. Use caution on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra due to excessive thread locker. Reinstall and tighten per manufacturer's specifications.
Yes. If installing MEGA STEP Brackets (571113) on a 1500 truck, you must use the supplied angle bracket (Item #17) to assemble the load reaction bolt to the front brackets.
