Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps (models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, 584088) are universal application steps available in silver or black aluminum extrusions. They are designed to work with specific bracket packages for your vehicle. The manual includes a step pad location guide for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Ram, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F-150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma models.
The 571113 MEGA STEP Brackets are designed for 2011 and newer GM Extended and Crew Cab pickups only. This includes Silverado and Sierra models in Extended Cab and Crew Cab configurations. If you have a different truck brand or model year, you will need a different bracket package.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps include: 2 aluminum extrusions (silver or black, in three length options: 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0"), 4 aluminum step pads, 4 plastic end caps, 24 square head bolts (5/16-18 x 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 20 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). The specific extrusion length depends on your vehicle model.
The 571113 MEGA STEP Brackets include: front, center, and rear mounting brackets (left and right); 6 square head screws (5/16-18 UNC); 14 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18 UNC); 6 rubber cushion washers; 12 flat washers (3/8"); 24 serrated flange nuts (3/8-16 UNC); 6 double-ended studs (3/8-16 x 4.50"); 6 bolts (3/8-16 x 1.00"); 2 flat washers; 2 angle brackets (90 degree, 3 holes); 2 hex head cap screws (5/16-18 x 1.00); 2 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18); and 2 flat washers (5/16"). The MEGA STEP board assembly is sold separately.
Yes. The O-MEGA II steps are universal, but you must follow the installation instructions included with the specific bracket package designed for your vehicle. The bracket package is vehicle-specific and must be installed before attaching the steps.
Read the complete installation instructions and verify that all required parts listed on the Service Parts List are on hand before starting. This includes the step extrusions, step pads, end caps, bolts, nuts, and tek screws. For the 571113 MEGA STEP Brackets, also verify all mounting brackets, studs, washers, and hardware are present.
Use the Step Pad Location Guide table on sheet 2 to determine the correct position for Pad A and Pad B for your specific vehicle model. The table provides measurements in inches from a reference point. Note that these are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion. Position the pads before drilling and attaching them to the step plates.
Yes. Before attaching the step pads to the step plates, you must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with 5 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2") provided. This drilling must be done for all step pads.
The end caps (item #3) should be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws (item #4) should be tightened to 19 lb ft.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #14), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #13) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (item #12) and rubber cushion washer (item #11) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16".
On the long threaded end of the stud, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #13) backwards to near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard or frame side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body brackets that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (item #13) on the outboard end of the stud and finger tighten.
Yes. If you are mounting the 571113 MEGA STEP Brackets on a 1500 truck, you will need to assemble the load reaction bolt to the front brackets using the supplied angle bracket (item #17) as shown in Figure 1.
Remove the factory front body mount bolts (one side of the vehicle at a time) and install the front mounting brackets (items #2 and #3) to the front cab mount as shown in the instructions. Leave these fasteners finger tight initially.
Install the center mounting brackets (items #4 and #5) to the center cab mount as shown in the instructions. Leave these fasteners finger tight initially.
Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #8) and washer (item #16) to the rear cab mount and leave finger tight. Then install the rear outboard cab mounting bracket (items #6 and #7) to the rear inboard cab mounting bracket (item #8) using 3/8" black zinc plated bolts (item #15), washers (item #12), and serrated flange nuts (item #13). The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (towards the rear of the vehicle) as shown in Figure 2. Tighten these bolts.
The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side of the rear inboard bracket (towards the rear of the vehicle) as shown in Figure 3. Tighten these bolts.
Insert three 5/16" square head screws (item #9) in the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the center two slots of the brackets. Center the step on the cab front to back. Locate the step in and out as desired and install the 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #10) on the square head screws, then tighten the nuts.
Adjust the stud assembly so that the rubber washer is firm against the side of the frame and tighten the flange nuts on either side of the step mounting bracket flange. Then tighten the body mount bolts per the manufacturer's specifications.
Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, use caution when removing the body mount bolts to reduce the risk of causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
The manual does not specify required tools. You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit for the step pad holes. Consult the specific bracket package instructions for additional tool requirements.
Tighten the 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws to 19 lb ft. End caps should be tightened to 5 lb ft.
Use caution when removing body mount bolts due to excessive thread locker, to avoid damaging the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
