Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.

The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are side-entry steps available in models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, and 584088. Each step assembly includes two extrusions (available in silver or black aluminum), step pads, end caps, square head bolts, serrated flange nuts, and TEK screws. The specific extrusion length varies by model: 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0".
The MEGA STEP Brackets (model 571443) are designed for 2014+ GM 1500 Double Cab and Crew Cab pickups (gas), and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Double Cab and Crew Cab pickups (gas). They mount to the rocker panel using a no-drill application.

The manual provides a positioning guide table for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Ram, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F-150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma models. Pad positions are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
The O-MEGA II steps include: 24 square head bolts (5/16"-18 x 1", part 106880) that mount to the brackets; 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18, part 102680) that secure the square head bolts; 20 TEK screws (#8-18 x 1/2", part 107958) that attach the step pads to the step plates; and 4 end caps (part 107956) that cover the step ends. The end caps are tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The MEGA STEP Brackets include: 12 5/16" flat washers (part 106998); 6 5/16"-18 x 1.00" hex bolts (part 100647); 6 M8-1.25 serrated flange nuts (part 105859); 6 5/16"-18 U-nuts (part 105541); 6 pinch weld support brackets (part 551666); and 10 M8-1.25 x 30mm hex bolts (part 100180). The brackets are designed for rocker panel mounting with no drilling required.

Yes. When installing the step pads on the steps, you must drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. The pads are then attached with five 8-18 x 1/2" TEK screws (part 107958) provided. This process is repeated for all step pads.
No. The MEGA STEP Brackets are a no-drill application. They mount to the rocker panel using existing holes and U-nuts inserted into plastic body plugs on the vertical wall of the rocker panel.
The end caps (item 3) should be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item 5) on the square head screws (item 4) should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The mounting bolts should be tightened to 19 lb-ft. Tighten starting with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts. This sequence is applied after pressing the step down and back.
1. Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws (item 4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. 2. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item 5) on the square head screws (item 4) and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Install the required number of square head bolts (item 4) into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. These bolts will later be secured with serrated flange nuts when the step is positioned on the mounting brackets.
1. Remove the plastic body plugs on the vertical wall of the rocker panel and insert a 5/16"-18 U-nut (item 7). If threaded inserts are present in the upper location, use black M8-1.25 x 30mm bolts (item 9) instead. 2. Position the mounting brackets (item 2) so holes line up with holes on the inside wall of the rocker panel. Install a 5/16"-18 x 1.0" hex bolt and 5/16" flat washer (items 4, 5) finger tight. 3. Install a black M8-1.25 x 30mm hex bolt, 5/16" flat washer, and pinch weld support (items 5, 8, 9) through the hole and install an M8-1.25 nut (item 6) finger tight on the back. 4. Repeat for remaining brackets. 5. Press step down and back, then tighten mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with bottom bolts followed by top bolts.
Repeat the same process used for the left side: remove plastic body plugs and insert U-nuts (or use threaded inserts if present), position the mounting brackets so holes align with the rocker panel, install hex bolts and flat washers finger tight, install the pinch weld support with M8-1.25 nuts finger tight, press the step down and back, then tighten all mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft starting with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts.
The pinch weld support bracket (item 8, part 551666) is installed through the hole along with a black M8-1.25 x 30mm hex bolt and 5/16" flat washer, with an M8-1.25 nut installed on the back. It provides structural support at the pinch weld area of the rocker panel during mounting.
For the MEGA STEP Brackets, install all fasteners finger tight first (hex bolts, flat washers, and nuts). Only after positioning the step and pressing it down and back should you tighten the mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts. For the O-MEGA II steps, the end caps are tightened to 5 lb-ft and the serrated flange nuts are tightened to 19 lb-ft.
