Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

The MEGA STEP Brackets (model 571443) are designed for 2014+ GM 1500 Double Cab and Crew Cab pickups (gas engines) and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Double Cab and Crew Cab pickups (gas engines). They mount to the rocker panel using a no-drill application.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are a universal application. However, the mounting brackets are vehicle-specific, and step pad positioning varies by vehicle model. You must follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package and use the step pad location guide to position pads correctly for your vehicle.
Each O-MEGA II step kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (available in 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0" lengths, in silver or black), 4 step pads, 4 end caps, 24 square head bolts (5/16"-18 x 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16"-18), and 20 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). The specific extrusion length depends on your model number.
The manual requires a drill with a 1/8" bit to drill holes for attaching step pads, and a torque wrench to tighten fasteners to specification (5 lb-ft for end cap nuts, 19 lb-ft for mounting bolts). Standard fastening tools for handling bolts and nuts are also needed.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" holes through the step plates using the step pad as a guide. These holes are used to attach the step pads with tek screws. The drilling is performed on the step plates themselves, not on the vehicle.
Yes. The MEGA STEP Brackets (571443) are a no-drill application. They mount to the rocker panel by removing existing plastic body plugs and inserting U-nuts, or by using threaded inserts if present on your vehicle. No drilling of the vehicle is required.
Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand. Then follow the instructions included with your specific bracket package to mount the brackets to your vehicle before attaching the O-MEGA steps.
Read the complete instructions and verify that all required parts listed in the Service Parts List are on hand. Note that hole configuration may vary by vehicle, but fasteners are provided for all applications. Ensure you have the correct bracket orientation (left or right side) before beginning.
Before attaching the O-MEGA steps to the brackets, place the step pads on top of the step plates. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 to find the correct position for your specific vehicle model. Pad A and Pad B positions are measured in inches from a reference point. Note that these locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Using the step pad as a guide, drill five 1/8" holes through the step plate. Attach the step pad with five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (item #6). Repeat this process for all step pads. The step pads must be installed before the steps are mounted to the brackets.
Install the end caps (item #3) as shown in figure 1, and tighten the nuts to 5 lb-ft. This must be done before positioning the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
1. Remove plastic body plugs from the vertical wall of the rocker panel and insert a 5/16"-18 U-nut (item #7). If threaded inserts are present in the upper location, use black M8-1.25 x 30 mm bolts (item #9) instead. 2. Position mounting brackets (item #2) so holes align with the rocker panel's inside wall. Install a 5/16"-18 x 1.0" hex bolt and 5/16" flat washer (items #4, #5) finger tight. 3. Install a black M8-1.25 x 30 mm hex bolt, 5/16" flat washer, and pinch weld support (items #5, #8, #9) through the hole and install an M8-1.25 nut (item #6) finger tight. 4. Repeat steps 2-3 for remaining brackets. 5. Install the step board per its instructions. 6. Press step down and back, then tighten mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with bottom bolts followed by top bolts.
Yes. After completing the installation on the left side, repeat steps 2-7 for the right side of the vehicle. The right side uses right-hand mounting brackets (item #3, part #552627) instead of left-hand brackets.
The end cap nuts must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The mounting bolts must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. Tighten the bottom bolts first, followed by the top bolts. This is done after pressing the step down and back.
Five 8-18 x 1/2" tek screws (item #6, stainless steel, bronze plated) are used to attach each step pad. These are drilled through five 1/8" holes in the step plate.
Twenty-four 5/16"-18 x 1" square head bolts (item #4) and twenty-four 5/16"-18 serrated flange nuts (item #5) are used. The bolts are inserted into the slots in the bottom of the step plates and the nuts are tightened to 19 lb-ft.
Two types of fasteners are used depending on the location: 5/16"-18 x 1.0" hex bolts with 5/16" flat washers (items #4, #5) for the lower location, and black M8-1.25 x 30 mm hex bolts with 5/16" flat washers and M8-1.25 nuts (items #5, #9, #6) for the upper location through the pinch weld support (item #8). All bolts are tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The O-MEGA II steps are available in three extrusion lengths: 69.0", 75.0", and 85.0". Each length is available in both silver and black finishes. The model number indicates which length you have: 583072/584072 (69.0"), 583078/584078 (75.0"), and 583088/584088 (85.0").
The MEGA STEP Brackets (571443) fit 2014+ GM 1500 Double Cab/Crew Cab pickups (gas) and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Double Cab/Crew Cab pickups (gas) only. They mount to the rocker panel with no drilling required.
Yes, you must drill five 1/8" holes through each step plate to attach the step pads with tek screws. No drilling of the vehicle is required.
You need a drill with a 1/8" bit, a torque wrench, and standard fastening tools. The bracket package may require additional tools—follow the specific bracket instructions.
Tighten end cap nuts to 5 lb-ft and mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft.
Tighten all mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts.
Yes. Position the O-MEGA step so it is centered front to rear on the vehicle before tightening the mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft.
The Step Pad Location Guide provides suggested positions for your vehicle model, but the manual states that pads may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
