Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. The MEGA STEP Bracket model 571113 is designed for 2011 and newer GM Extended and Crew Cab pickups (Silverado and Sierra). If you have a different truck model or year, you will need a different bracket package. The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are universal and can be used with appropriate vehicle-specific brackets.
The step pad location guide covers: Silverado/Sierra (Double Cab, Extended Cab, Crew Cab), Colorado/Canyon (Extended Cab, Crew Cab), Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon XL, Tahoe, Yukon, RAM (Quad Cab, Crew Cab, Mega Cab), Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, Dodge Durango, Ford F150 (Super Cab, Super Crew Cab), Ford Super Duty (Super Cab, Crew Cab), Toyota Tundra (Double Cab 07+, CrewMax 07+), and Toyota Tacoma (Access Cab, Double Cab).
Each O-MEGA II package includes: 2 step extrusions (available in silver or black, in three lengths: 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0"), 4 step pads (part 552970), 4 plastic end caps (part 107956), 24 square head screws 5/16-18 x 1" (part 106880), 24 serrated flange nuts 5/16-18 (part 102680), and 20 tek screws #8-18 x 1/2" (part 107958) for attaching the pads.
The manual does not specify which tools are required. You will need a drill with a 1/8" bit to drill holes for the step pad attachment, and appropriate wrenches or sockets to tighten the fasteners to the specified torque values (5 lb-ft for end caps, 19 lb-ft for serrated flange nuts). Consult the bracket package instructions for any additional tools needed for bracket installation.
Yes. The O-MEGA II installation instructions state that you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. The bracket instructions are separate from the step installation instructions and must be completed first.
Step pad position varies by vehicle model and cab style. Use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 of the O-MEGA II manual, which provides specific measurements for Pad A (front) and Pad B (rear) for each vehicle. The guide notes that these locations are suggestions only and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Yes. You must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter using the step pad as a guide. The step pads are then attached with 5 tek screws (8-18 x 1/2", part 107958) provided in the kit. Repeat this process for all step pads.
The end caps (part 107956) must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (part 102680) that secure the square head screws to the mounting brackets must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (part 106880) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (part 102680) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
Read the instructions completely and check that all required parts listed on the service parts list are on hand before starting installation. The service parts list includes the step board assembly (sold separately), mounting brackets, studs, hardware, washers, and fasteners.
On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (part 106960), install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (part 106995) backwards to the bottom of the thread. Then install a black 3/8" flat washer (part 106962) and rubber cushion washer (part 102592) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". On the long threaded end, install a black 3/8" serrated flange nut (part 106995) backwards near the bottom of the threads.
Insert the stud from the inboard (frame side) through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the body brackets that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a black flange nut (part 106995) on the outboard end of the stud and finger tighten. For 1500 trucks, assemble the load reaction bolt to the front brackets using the supplied angle bracket (part 551571) as shown in Figure 1.
Remove the factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts one side of the vehicle at a time. Install the front mounting bracket (parts 551901 and 551904) to the front cab mount and leave finger tight. Install the center mounting bracket (parts 551902 and 551905) to the center cab mount and leave finger tight. Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (part 551907) and washer (part 108882) to the rear cab mount and leave finger tight. For Extended Cab only, install the rear outboard bracket (parts 551903 and 551906) to the rear inboard bracket using 3/8" bolts, washers, and serrated flange nuts, with the outboard bracket mounted to the back side (towards the rear) of the inboard bracket. For Crew Cab, follow the same procedure using the holes shown in Figure 3.
Insert three 5/16" square head screws (part 106880) in the center slot on the underside of the step. Position the step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws are located in the center two slots of the brackets and the step is centered front to back on the cab. Locate the step in and out as desired and install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (part 102680) on the square head screws, then tighten the nuts.
Adjust the stud assembly so that the rubber washer is firm against the side of the frame and tighten the flange nuts on either side of the step mounting bracket flange. Then tighten the body mount bolts per the manufacturer's specifications.
Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra, use caution when removing the body mount bolts to reduce the risk of causing damage to the threaded inserts inside the vehicle.
