Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finishe d with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are side-entry steps available in models 583072, 583078, 583088, 584072, 584078, and 584088. They come in silver or black aluminum extrusions in three lengths (69.0", 75.0", and 85.0"). Each kit includes two step extrusions, four step pads, four end caps, 24 square head bolts, 24 serrated flange nuts, and 20 TEK screws for pad attachment.
The MEGA STEP Brackets (model 571443) are designed for 2014+ GM 1500 Double Cab and Crew Cab pickups (gas engines) and 2015 GM 2500/3500HD Double Cab and Crew Cab pickups (gas engines). They mount to the rocker panel with no drilling required.
The O-MEGA II steps are listed as a universal application. However, the step pad positioning varies significantly by vehicle model and cab style. The manual provides a positioning guide table for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, RAM, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F-150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma. Pad locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.

You will need to drill 1/8" holes for the step pads and attach fasteners, but the manual does not list specific tools such as drills, wrenches, or torque wrenches. Once positioned, drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide, then attach with five 8-18×1/2" TEK screws (item #6).

If threaded inserts are present in the upper location, use black M8-1.25×30 mm bolts (item #9) instead. 2. Position the mounting brackets (item #2) so holes align with the rocker panel interior wall. Install a 5/16"-18×1.0" hex bolt and 5/16" flat washer (items #4, #5) finger tight. 3. Install a black M8-1.25×30 mm hex bolt, 5/16" flat washer, and pinch weld support (items #5, #8, #9) through the hole and install an M8-1.25 nut (item #6) finger tight. 4. Repeat for remaining brackets. 5. Install the step board per its instructions. 6. Press step down and back, tighten mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with bottom bolts then top bolts. 7. Repeat for the right side.
The service parts list shows 3 left-hand brackets (item #2, part 552628) and 3 right-hand brackets (item #3, part 552627), for a total of 6 brackets.
Two types of fasteners are used: (1) 5/16"-18×1.0" hex bolts with 5/16" flat washers (items #4, #5) installed finger tight through the interior wall of the rocker panel, and (2) black M8-1.25×30 mm hex bolts with 5/16" flat washers and pinch weld support (items #5, #8, #9) with M8-1.25 nuts (item #6) installed finger tight on the back. All bolts are then tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The 5/16"-18 U-nut (item #7) is inserted into the existing plastic body plug holes on the vertical wall of the rocker panel on the left side of the vehicle. It provides a threaded anchor point for the mounting bolts. However, if threaded inserts are already present in the upper location, use black M8-1.25×30 mm bolts (item #9) instead of the U-nut.
The pinch weld support (item #8, part 551666) is installed with the black M8-1.25×30 mm hex bolt (item #9) and 5/16" flat washer (item #5) through the hole in the rocker panel. It provides structural support at the pinch weld area of the vehicle.
No. The mounting bolts should be installed finger tight initially (steps 3-4). The step board is then installed per its own instructions (step 6). Only after the step board is installed should you press the step down and back, then tighten the mounting bolts to 19 lb-ft, starting with the bottom bolts followed by the top bolts.
The service parts list includes 24 square head bolts (item #4, part 106880) per kit. These are installed into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates and then secured with 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) to the mounting brackets.
Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets so that the square head screws (item #4) are located in the slots of the mounting brackets and the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Then install 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
