Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

On the long end, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut backwards near the bottom. 3. Attach stud assemblies to mounting brackets, inserting from the frame side through the lowest hole, with the rubber washer seated firmly against the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut on the outboard end (finger tight only). 4. Remove factory front, center, and rear body mount bolts and install mounting brackets (finger tight). 5. Attach rear outboard bracket to rear inboard bracket using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, washers, and nuts, torqued to 19 lb-ft. 6. Install step boards per their instructions. 7. Position load reaction bolt assembly so rubber cushion is snug against the frame. Tighten 3/8" flange nuts on either side to 19 lb-ft. 8. Repeat for the right side.
Refer to the instruction sheet included with your step board assembly to mount the step to the brackets. The MEGA STEP brackets are designed to work with step board assemblies, and the specific attachment procedure depends on the step board model you are using.
The end caps (Item #3) must be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) on the square head screws (Item #4) must be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The front bracket assembly (Items #2, 4) must be torqued to 19 lb-ft. This applies to the three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts used in the preassembly.
The rear outboard mounting bracket (Item #7) attached to the rear inboard mounting bracket (Item #9) must be torqued to 19 lb-ft. This applies to the three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts used in this assembly.
The 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the load reaction bolt assembly must be tightened to 19 lb-ft. This is done after positioning the load reaction bolt assembly so that the rubber cushion is snug against the side of the frame.
The square head screws (Item #4) are 5/16-18 x 1" with a MagniGuard coating. There are 24 screws included in the kit. They are installed into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates and secured with 5/16" serrated flange nuts (Item #5) torqued to 19 lb-ft.

The double-ended studs are 3/8-16 x 4.00" steel, zinc plated (Item #104686). There are 6 studs included in the kit. Each stud has a short threaded end and a long threaded end. The short end receives a 3/8" serrated flange nut (backwards), a 3/8" flat washer, and a rubber cushion washer (recessed approximately 3/16"). The long end receives a 3/8" serrated flange nut (backwards, near the bottom).
The rubber cushion washers (Item #102592) have an inside diameter of 0.354", an outside diameter of 1.00", and a thickness of 0.75". There are 6 washers included in the kit. Each washer is installed on the short threaded end of a load reaction stud, with the stud end recessed approximately 3/16" into the rubber washer. The rubber cushion must be positioned snug against the side of the frame during final assembly.
Use caution when removing the body mount bolts on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra models. These bolts have excessive thread locker applied, which may make removal difficult. Take your time and apply appropriate force to avoid stripping the bolts or damaging the mounting points.
The rubber cushion washer (Item #11) serves as a vibration and load dampener between the stud assembly and the vehicle frame. It must be recessed approximately 3/16" into the stud end and positioned snug against the side of the frame during final assembly. This ensures proper load distribution and helps protect the frame from damage.
After installation, verify that: 1) the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle, 2) all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque values (5 lb-ft for end caps, 19 lb-ft for serrated flange nuts), 3) the step pads are securely attached with all 5 tek screws per pad, and 4) the step does not interfere with any vehicle components or suspension.
After installation, verify that: 1) the mounting brackets do not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing, 2) the factory body mount fasteners are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications, 3) the rubber cushion on the load reaction stud assembly is snug against the side of the frame, 4) all bracket fasteners are tightened to 19 lb-ft, and 5) the step boards are securely attached per their instructions and do not interfere with any vehicle components.
The manual does not specify a retorque interval. However, it is good practice to periodically check that all fasteners remain tight, especially after the first few uses. Check the end cap nuts (5 lb-ft) and serrated flange nuts (19 lb-ft) to ensure they have not loosened due to vibration.

Yes. You must drill 5 holes of 1/8" diameter per step pad using the step pad as a guide, then attach the pads with tek screws.
Tighten end cap nuts to 5 lb-ft and serrated flange nuts (5/16-18) on the square head screws to 19 lb-ft.
Tighten all bracket fasteners and load reaction bolt assembly nuts to 19 lb-ft. Ensure factory body mount fasteners are torqued to the manufacturer's specifications.
Use caution when removing body mount bolts on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra models due to excessive thread locker applied at the factory.
The mounting brackets must not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing. If they are touching, reposition the brackets to ensure proper clearance. The brackets should be adjusted so that they sit properly in the body mount locations without interference. Verify that you are using the correct bracket orientation and that all fasteners are finger tight (not fully torqued) during this adjustment phase.
The rubber cushion washer must be positioned snug against the side of the frame. If it is not seating properly, verify that: 1) the stud is inserted from the frame (inboard) side through the correct hole in the bracket flange, 2) the rubber washer is recessed approximately 3/16" into the stud end, 3) the stud is positioned so the rubber washer can make full contact with the frame side wall. Adjust the stud position as needed, then tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side to 19 lb-ft.
