Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Silverado 2500 HD or 3500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD or 3500 HD (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.
LUVERNE O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum and shielded in a highly durable powder coat finish of textured black or smooth silver.

LUVERNE has manufactured truck accessories in the United States since 1963, specialising in grille guards, running boards, side steps and mud guards for pickups, commercial vans and SUVs. Products are built primarily from stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, with model-specific mounting kits that use existing frame locations for a bolt-on installation.
LUVERNE has been manufacturing automotive accessories in the United States since 1963, and six decades of continuous production have made it a nationally recognised name in the truck accessory market. Now a Lippert brand, it concentrates on a defined set of products rather than spreading across the whole aftermarket: front-end protection, step access and spray protection for pickup trucks, commercial vans and sport utility vehicles.
Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. Material choice runs through everything the brand does: stainless steel where appearance and corrosion resistance matter most, aluminium where weight is the priority, and mild steel with protective coating where strength and value lead. Customers include contractors, fleet operators, van upfitters and truck owners.

Yes, but with a modification. If installing on a 1500 pickup, you must attach the small 90° bracket (item #16) to the front brackets. This bracket is included in the package. Refer to Figure 1 in the installation instructions for proper assembly.
Yes. The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are available in three lengths: 69.0", 75.0", and 85.0". Each length is available in both silver and black aluminum. The model number you purchase determines the length: model 583072/584072 are 69.0", models 583078/584078 are 75.0", and models 583088/584088 are 85.0". Verify your model number before installation.
The manual does not specify the tools required for installation. You will need a drill to create 5 holes (1/8" diameter) for the step pad attachment. A torque wrench is required to tighten fasteners to the specified values (5 lb ft for end caps, 19 lb ft for serrated flange nuts). Consult the bracket package instructions for additional tools needed to mount the brackets to your vehicle.
A torque wrench is required to tighten fasteners to 19 lb ft. The installation is described as a no-drill application, so drilling is not required for bracket mounting. However, you will need standard hand tools to remove factory body mount bolts and assemble the load reaction stud hardware. Consult the separate step board installation instructions for any additional tools needed.
The step pad location guide on Sheet 2 provides suggested positions for Pad A and Pad B on your specific vehicle model. These measurements indicate where to position the step pads on the step plates before drilling and attaching them with tek screws. The guide covers Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, Tahoe, Ram, Dodge Dakota, Dodge Durango, Ford F150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma models. Note that these are suggestions only and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
For a Silverado Crew Cab, Pad A should be positioned at 14-3/4" and Pad B at 54-1/4" according to the step pad location guide. These are suggested positions and may be adjusted at the purchaser's discretion.
For a Ford F150 Super Crew Cab, Pad A should be positioned at 18-1/4" and Pad B at 56-1/2" according to the step pad location guide. These are suggested positions and may be adjusted at the purchaser's discretion.
For a Toyota Tundra Crewmax (2007 and newer), Pad A should be positioned at 8-1/4" and Pad B at 54-1/4" according to the step pad location guide. These are suggested positions and may be adjusted at the purchaser's discretion.
For a Ram Crew Cab, Pad A should be positioned at 10-1/2" and Pad B at 48" according to the step pad location guide. These are suggested positions and may be adjusted at the purchaser's discretion.
1. Assemble step pads on the step plates before attaching to brackets. 2. Position step pads using the location guide for your vehicle. 3. Drill five 1/8" holes using the step pad as a guide. 4. Attach step pads with five #8-18 x 1/2" tek screws. 5. Install square head bolts into the designated slots in the bottom of the step plates. 6. Install end caps and tighten nuts to 5 lb ft. 7. Position the step on the mounting brackets so square head screws are in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear. 8. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb ft. Follow the bracket package instructions to mount the brackets to your vehicle first.
1. On the short threaded end of the load reaction stud (item #14), install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #13) backwards to the bottom of the thread. 2. Install a 3/8" flat washer (item #12) and rubber cushion washer (item #11) tight against the serrated flange nut. The end of the stud must be recessed in the rubber washer approximately 3/16". 3. On the long threaded end of the stud, install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #13) backwards to near the bottom of the threads. Repeat this assembly for all six studs.
Insert the stud from the inboard or frame side through the lowest hole in the bent flange of the bracket that will allow the rubber washer to seat firmly against the side wall of the frame. Install a 3/8" serrated flange nut (item #13) on the outboard end of the stud, leaving it finger tight only at this stage. The rubber cushion must be snug against the side of the frame. After positioning, tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb ft.
On the left side of the vehicle, preassemble the front bracket (items #2 and #4) using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #15, #12, #13). Torque to 19 lb ft. Then install this assembly to the front body mount, leaving the fasteners finger tight. Repeat on the right side using the right-side front bracket (item #3). If installing on a 1500 pickup, attach the small 90° bracket (item #16) to the front brackets before installation.
Install the center mounting bracket (item #5 for left side, item #6 for right side) to the center body mount as shown in the instructions, leaving the fasteners finger tight. The center brackets are installed after the front brackets but before the rear brackets.
1. Install the rear inboard mounting bracket (item #9) and washer (item #17) to the rear body mount, leaving fasteners finger tight. 2. Attach the rear outboard mounting bracket (item #7) to the rear inboard mounting bracket using three 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts (items #15, #12, #13). The rear outboard bracket must be mounted to the back side (towards the rear of the vehicle) of the rear inboard bracket. Torque to 19 lb ft. Note: there is a difference between double cab and crew cab applications; refer to Figures 2 and 3 for correct hole placement.
Leave all body mount fasteners finger tight during initial bracket installation (steps 5.1, 5.2, and 5.3). After installing the step boards per their separate instructions and positioning the load reaction bolt assemblies so the rubber cushion is snug against the frame side, tighten the 3/8" flange nuts on either side of the bracket to 19 lb ft. Finally, ensure the mounting brackets do not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing and torque the body mount fasteners to the manufacturer's specifications.
Yes. You must drill five 1/8" diameter holes in the step plates to attach the step pads. Use the step pad as a guide for hole placement. The holes are drilled before attaching the step pads with #8-18 x 1/2" tek screws. No other drilling is required for the step installation itself; however, the bracket package may require drilling depending on your vehicle.
No. The MEGA STEP Brackets model 571743 are described as a no-drill application. The brackets mount to existing factory body mount locations without requiring drilling.
The nuts on the end caps (item #3) should be tightened to 5 lb ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) that attach the step to the mounting brackets should be tightened to 19 lb ft.
All 3/8"-16 x 1.0" screws, 3/8" flat washers, and 3/8" flange nuts used in the bracket assembly should be torqued to 19 lb ft. This applies to the front bracket preassembly, rear outboard bracket attachment, and load reaction stud flange nuts. After installation, the body mount fasteners should be torqued to the manufacturer's specifications (which are not provided in this manual).
Five 1/8" diameter holes are drilled in the step plates to attach the step pads. Use the step pad as a guide for hole placement.
The end of the load reaction stud must be recessed in the rubber cushion washer (item #11) approximately 3/16".
Due to excessive thread locker in the body mount bolt area on 2010+ GM Silverado/Sierra vehicles, use caution when removing the body mount bolts. The thread locker may make removal difficult. Take your time and apply appropriate force to avoid stripping or breaking the bolts.
The mounting brackets must not touch the inside wall of the body mount housing. Ensure proper clearance during installation and verify after tightening all fasteners.
Verify that the step is centered front to rear on the vehicle. Confirm that all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque values: 5 lb ft for end cap nuts and 19 lb ft for serrated flange nuts. Check that the step pads are securely attached with all five tek screws. Ensure the step is stable and does not move when pressure is applied.
