Like many LUVERNE side steps and running boards, O-Mega II 6" oval side steps are made to work hard and to do it with style. They are constructed from strong, lightweight, rust-free aluminum, and to truly make them a step up from the rest, we shield them in a highly durable powder coat finish. This ensures maximum corrosion resistance and excellent protection against scuffs and scratches. The side steps are available in two powder coat finish options, including textured black and silver powder coat. O-Mega II side steps are also made to provide safe, comfortable entry and exit from your vehicle. They feature tough aluminum step pads with protruded circular treads that will never wear or crack. The step pads offer a non-skid surface, and they are finished with a textured black powder coat for lasting corrosion resistance. Also unique to our O-Mega II step pads is their customizable positioning. The pads are packaged unattached from the tubes and mount with self-tapping screws. This allows you to precisely match the layout of your vehicle to suit your preferences. You can mount them to the provided factory specifications or adjust them to a custom placement. The 6" x 2-3/4" tubes are fitted with black TPO plastic end caps, adding a modern, professional look. The end caps are also paintable to allow for even further customization. Each set of O-Mega II side steps is designed for vehicle-specific installation and fitment, using a unique set of mounting brackets. This particular set of side steps fits specific years of the Chevy Avalanche, Silverado 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD, Suburban, Suburban 1500 or Suburban 2500 and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 HD, 3500 HD, Yukon XL, Yukon XL 1500 or Yukon XL 2500 (see application info to verify fitment). NOTE: Mounting brackets are included but ship separately.

Step products are the largest part of the catalog and the range is unusually deep, because the right step depends on the vehicle's ride height, the width of the rocker panel and how often people get in and out. The O-Mega II six-inch oval steps give a wide, flat standing surface in polished stainless or black powder coat, while the Regal 7 seven-inch oval steps go wider still for full-size crew cabs and lifted trucks. The broader running board and side bar range covers round tube, oval and boxed profiles across cab configurations, with treads positioned at the door openings where they are used.
Grille guards protect the front end against impacts, brush and road debris, built in tubular stainless or steel with model-specific brackets that tie into factory frame mounting points. Because the fit is engineered per vehicle, installation is a bolt-on job that does not require drilling or cutting on most applications.
Rounding out the line, LUVERNE mud guards and mud flaps shield rocker panels, paint and following vehicles from stones and road spray, in widths matched to the tyre and fender they sit behind. The MEGA Steps are designed for 2007 and newer GM Silverado and Sierra Crew Cab pickups, 2007 and newer GM Tahoe and Suburban without factory side steps, 2007 Chevy Avalanche without factory side steps, and 2007 and newer GM Silverado and Sierra Extended Cab. They are not compatible with vehicles that have factory side steps already installed.
The O-MEGA II 6" Oval Steps are a universal application. However, step pad positioning varies by vehicle model and cab style. The manual includes a Step Pad Location Guide with specific measurements for Silverado, Sierra, Colorado, Canyon, Avalanche, Suburban, Yukon, RAM, Dodge Dakota, Durango, Ford F-150, Ford Super Duty, Toyota Tundra, and Toyota Tacoma models. Pad locations are provided as suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
Each O-MEGA II kit includes: 2 aluminum extrusions (available in 69.0", 75.0", or 85.0" lengths, in silver or black), 4 aluminum step pads, 4 plastic end caps, 24 square head bolts (5/16-18 x 1"), 24 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), and 20 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2"). The specific extrusion length depends on your vehicle model.
The MEGA Steps kit includes: 1 step assembly (either 78.00" or 88.00" depending on vehicle), 6 mounting brackets, 6 nylon spacer washers, 12 M8 x 30 screws, 14 serrated flange nuts (5/16-18), 6 square head screws (5/16-18 x 1.00"), 12 standard flat washers (5/16"), 6 M8 flanged nuts, 6 5/16" x 1.00" screws, 6 U-nuts (5/16-18), and 6 pinch weld support brackets.
Yes. The O-MEGA II steps require a specific bracket package for your vehicle. The manual states you must follow the instructions included with the specific bracket package you are using to mount the brackets to your vehicle. These bracket instructions are not included in this manual.
Yes. Before attaching the O-MEGA II steps to the brackets, you must drill 5 holes through the step plates using the step pad as a guide. Each hole is 1/8" in diameter. The step pads are then attached with 5 tek screws (#8-18 x 1/2") provided in the kit. This drilling must be done for all step pads.
The end caps (item #3) should be tightened to 5 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #5) installed on the square head screws (item #4) should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
The 5/16" serrated flange nuts (item #4) installed on the square head screws should be tightened to 19 lb-ft. Additionally, the screws (item #3) and washers (item #7) and nuts (item #8) that attach the top of the mounting brackets to the vehicle should be tightened to 19 lb-ft.
Before attaching the step pads to the step plates, use the Step Pad Location Guide on sheet 2 of the manual to position the pads for your particular vehicle. The guide provides specific measurements for Pad A and Pad B locations based on your vehicle model and cab style. Note that these locations are suggestions and may be placed at the purchaser's discretion.
1. Mount the brackets to your vehicle using the specific bracket package instructions. 2. Position the step pads on the step plates using the Step Pad Location Guide. 3. Drill 5 holes (1/8" diameter) through each step pad and attach with tek screws. 4. Install the required number of square head bolts into the slots on the bottom of the step plates. 5. Install the end caps and tighten to 5 lb-ft. 6. Position the O-MEGA step on the mounting brackets with square head screws in the bracket slots, centered front to rear. 7. Install serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
1. Attach the top of the mounting brackets to the vehicle using the appropriate fasteners (U-nut and bolt or flanged nut, depending on vehicle). 2. Insert a nylon washer between the top of the mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel. 3. Install the screw, washer, and nut. Place the pinch weld support bracket above the pinch weld area. Tighten to 19 lb-ft. The distance between the front bracket and second bracket should be 24 inches. 4. Insert three 5/16" square head screws in the center slot on the underside of the step. 5. Position the MEGA step on the mounting brackets so the square head screws are in the bracket slots and the step is centered front to rear. 6. Install 5/16" serrated flange nuts on the square head screws and tighten to 19 lb-ft.
The distance between the front bracket and the second bracket must be 24 inches.
The pinch weld support bracket must be placed above the pinch weld area. This is done on each mounting bracket during installation.
The nylon washer (item #2) is inserted between the top of the mounting bracket and the bottom of the rocker panel to protect the vehicle's finish and provide proper spacing during installation.
