Reese has designed towing equipment since 1952 and remains a benchmark for heavy-duty towing. The line covers fifth wheel hitches such as the modular M5, gooseneck couplers including the Goose Box, air-ride and short-bed pin boxes, weight distribution systems with active sway control, and the accessories that connect them, all built to exceed published industry standards.
Reese has been pioneering towing performance since 1952, when Margaret Reese asked her husband TJ to stop travel trailers rocking every time somebody walked through them. His answer, the first pair of stabilising jacks, was simple and effective enough to change the RV industry. From that starting point Reese grew into a designer and manufacturer of complete towing systems, and today it anchors the heavy-duty end of the Horizon Global towing portfolio.
Fifth wheel towing is where the brand's engineering is most visible. The M5 fifth wheel hitch uses a modular design that breaks into manageable sections for assembly, with a wider stance, tighter tolerances and a shock absorption system aimed at the jolts that travel up through a truck bed. For owners who would rather tow from a gooseneck coupler and keep the bed clear, the Goose Box 20K replaces the trailer's king pin with a gooseneck connection carrying its own air-ride cushioning.
Pin boxes are a Reese speciality. The 5th Airborne uses air-ride technology to dampen road shock and reduce the chucking motion that makes fifth wheel towing tiring, while the Sidewinder was designed for short-bed pickups, pivoting the connection point so the trailer can turn sharply without the front cap meeting the cab.
For conventional towing, Reese weight distribution systems restore load to the tow vehicle's front axle and control sway. The Pro Round Bar distributes weight evenly while damping sway, and the Pro Dual Cam II uses active cam-based sway control that works harder the stronger the sway force becomes. Complete kits pair bars, head and shank to a rated tongue weight, and dedicated sway control kits can be added to existing setups. The products suit RV owners, horse and livestock haulers and anyone towing near the upper end of a vehicle's rating.

The kit includes: 1 Pop-In Gooseneck Ball, 2 Safety Chain Attachments, 1 Gooseneck Cover, and 1 Storage Bag.
The Pop-In Ball is designed for gooseneck hitch systems and installs into a receiver tube in the truck bed. It requires an underbed hitch with a quarter-turn puck already mounted in the bed.
The gooseneck ball vertical weight (pin weight) must not exceed 6,000 pounds.
The gross weight of the trailer must not exceed 30,000 pounds. Gross trailer weight is the weight of the trailer plus cargo and must not exceed the lowest rating of any part of your towing system, including the towing vehicle's manufacturer-rated capacity.
1. Lift the handle in the center of the ball and rotate it 90 degrees. 2. Insert the gooseneck ball assembly into the receiver tube in the truck bed with the ball bearings oriented toward the sides of the truck bed. 3. Turn the center handle 90 degrees so it drops into the slot in the top of the ball. 4. Verify the ball is locked by rotating it 90 degrees and ensure the handle is not proud (protruding) from the top of the ball. 5. If the handle is not fully locked, rotate the ball until the handle fully seats in the slot.
1. Place the Safety Chain Attachment on top of the quarter-turn puck in the underbed. 2. Rotate the Safety Chain Attachment 90 degrees until the center lock drops into place. To remove it, lift the center lock and rotate the complete assembly 90 degrees.
Rotate the ball 90 degrees and ensure that the handle is not proud (protruding) of the top of the ball. The handle must be fully seated within the slot in the gooseneck ball. If the center handle is not fully locked (does not retract fully), rotate the ball until the handle fully seats itself in the slot.
When not using the Pop-In Gooseneck Ball, place it in the supplied storage bag and put the gooseneck cover in its place in the truck bed.
Never exceed the towing vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. The towing vehicle must have a manufacturer-rated towing capacity equal to or greater than the gross trailer weight (dry weight of the trailer plus payload). Gross trailer weight must not exceed 30,000 pounds, and the gooseneck ball vertical weight must not exceed 6,000 pounds.
Connect safety chains properly every time you tow. Attach them securely through the chain loops provided so they cannot bounce loose. Leave only enough slack to permit full turning. Too much slack may prevent chains from maintaining control if other connections separate. Check the ball, coupler, chains, and all other connections every time you tow, and re-check at fuel and rest stops.
Before towing, check: (1) that the gooseneck ball is properly locked into the underbed hitch with the handle fully seated in the slot; (2) that safety chains are connected securely and have appropriate slack; (3) trailer lights, turn signals, and electric brake connections; (4) tire inflation on both tow vehicle and trailer; (5) that the trailer coupler is smooth, clean, and lightly lubricated; (6) that the ball, coupler, chains, and all connections are in good condition. Make these checks every time you tow, no matter how short the trip.
Never allow people in the trailer while towing, under any circumstances. When loading the trailer, place heavy objects on the floor ahead of the axle and balance the load side-to-side. Never load the trailer rear-heavy. Load the trailer heavier in the front, but not greater than the tongue weight rating of the hitch.
Stop immediately and make a thorough inspection. Correct any problems before resuming travel. Severe bumps can damage your towing vehicle, hitch, and trailer, so drive slowly on rough roads.
No. Do not tow one trailer behind another, as this may cause loss of control.
No. Do not modify the product in any way.
Check the ball, coupler, chains, and all other connections every time you tow. Re-check at fuel and rest stops. Ensure the gooseneck ball is properly locked into the underbed hitch with the handle fully seated in the slot before each use.
The coupler should be smooth, clean, and lightly lubricated. Adjust it per the coupler manufacturer's instructions.
The Pop-In Ball fits pickup trucks with an underbed gooseneck hitch receiver and a quarter-turn puck already mounted in the bed. Confirm your truck has this underbed hitch system before purchasing.
The gooseneck ball vertical weight (pin weight) must not exceed 6,000 pounds.
The gross trailer weight must not exceed 30,000 pounds, and your towing vehicle must have a manufacturer-rated capacity equal to or greater than the gross trailer weight.
The manual does not specify whether professional installation is required. The product is designed to be inserted into and removed from an existing underbed hitch receiver, but you should confirm that your truck has the required underbed hitch system with a quarter-turn puck already installed.
The manual does not indicate that drilling or modifications are required. The Pop-In Ball inserts into an existing underbed hitch receiver tube. However, the underbed hitch system itself must already be installed in your truck.
No. Do not modify the product and do not tow one trailer behind another, as this may cause loss of control.
