Outfitting your pickup to tow a heavy-duty flatbed or livestock trailer is easy with the CURT OEM puck system gooseneck ball. Like our OEM puck system safety chain anchors, this 38K gooseneck ball utilizes the puck system built into certain pickup trucks today with the towing prep package. It features a patented installation system, operating with a simple quarter-turn latch lock for ease of use and a secure mount. Stainless steel retention balls, built into the shank, keep the gooseneck ball fixed into the receiver hole and keep your trailer locked on tight. It provides a ball diameter of 2-5/16" and has a gross trailer weight capacity of 38,000 lbs. It also comes with a durable chrome finish and meets J2638 specifications for safety. This particular OEM puck system gooseneck ball is compatible with Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan Titan XD and Ram pickups with the truck bed puck system. It is not designed to fit any other gooseneck ball holes. The ball can be purchased as a standalone item or as part of a complete kit that also includes the OEM puck system safety chain anchors, a rubber hole cover and a durable storage case.

The CURT 60627 has a gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 38,000 lbs. and a vertical load capacity of 9,500 lbs. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, as this may be lower than the product's rated capacity.
The CURT 60627 is a 2-5/16" gooseneck ball.
The CURT 60627 gooseneck ball is designed to fit truck bed puck system receiver tubes. Your truck must have a factory or aftermarket bed puck system installed for this product to work.
No tools are required to install the CURT 60627 gooseneck ball.
1. Lift the handle on top of the ball from its seat and rotate it 90°. 2. Insert the gooseneck ball into the truck bed puck system receiver tube. 3. Rotate the lift handle to the locked position. 4. Flip the handle down into its seat. If the lift handle does not freely rotate into the locked position, rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the lift handle. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position prior to coupling.
If the lift handle does not freely rotate into the locked position, rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the lift handle. This will allow the handle to rotate fully into the locked position. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position prior to coupling.
Keep the gooseneck ball and towing system lubricated regularly using silicone spray or equivalent to prevent wear and rust. When the gooseneck ball is not in use, remove it from the receiver tube and store it in a case or a dry, clean area. Place a rubber cover into the gooseneck receiver when the ball is removed to keep dirt and debris out. Periodically check the condition of all towing equipment and ensure all fasteners are tight. Failure to maintain the towing system could result in poor performance and/or failure.

Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity. While the CURT 60627 is rated for a gross trailer weight of 38,000 lbs., your truck's manufacturer may specify a lower limit. Always follow your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations, as they account for your specific truck's braking, handling, and structural capabilities.
No. Do not tow more than one trailer at a time. This may cause loss of control.
Severe bumps can damage the towing system. Avoid or drive slowly over rough terrain.
Vehicle performance (braking, handling, acceleration, turning radius) can be drastically affected by a trailer. Allow additional time and space for stopping, changing lanes, passing and turning.
Tongue weight should be 10-15% of the gross trailer weight for most trailers. Too low of a tongue weight often produces a tendency to sway.
Heavy items should be placed close to the floor near the trailer axle center line. The load should be balanced side to side and firmly secured in the trailer to prevent shifting. Never load the trailer heavier behind the trailer axle(s).
There should be a minimum clearance of 6" between the bottom of the trailer's overhang and the top of the box sides.
Before towing, verify adequate turning clearance between the truck cab/box corners and trailer(s). Verify the trailer safety chain length—too much slack may prevent maintaining control in the event of separation; leave only enough slack to allow full turning without interference. Check the condition of all towing equipment, ensure all fasteners are tight, and verify all structural components are sound. Do not tow a trailer with worn or damaged parts. Verify trailer lights, electric brakes and breakaway switches are working properly. Check truck box clearance (minimum 6" between trailer overhang and box top). Review your towing vehicle and trailer manufacturer's recommendations for specific capacities and requirements.
Unless specified by the towing vehicle or trailer manufacturer, tires should be inflated to their maximum recommended pressure.
The CURT 60627 fits truck bed puck system receiver tubes. Your truck must have a factory or aftermarket bed puck system installed. Consult your truck's manual or contact CURT at 877-287-8634 to confirm compatibility.
