Outfitting your pickup to tow a heavy-duty flatbed or livestock trailer is easy with the CURT OEM puck system gooseneck ball. Like our OEM puck system safety chain anchors, this 30K gooseneck ball utilizes the puck system built into certain pickup trucks today with the towing prep package. It features a patented installation system, operating with a simple quarter-turn latch lock for ease of use and a secure mount. Retention balls, built into the shank, keep the gooseneck ball fixed into the receiver hole and keep your trailer locked on tight. It provides a ball diameter of 3" and has a gross trailer weight capacity of 30,000 lbs. It also comes with a durable chrome finish and meets U.S. V-19 specifications for safety. This particular OEM puck system gooseneck ball is compatible with Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan Titan XD and Ram pickups with the truck bed puck system. It is not designed to fit any other gooseneck ball holes.

The package includes one gooseneck ball. The rubber cover (#66155) is sold separately and is recommended to keep dirt and contaminants out of the receiver tube when the ball is not in use.
No tools are required to install the gooseneck ball. The installation is straightforward and involves only rotating the handle and inserting the ball into the receiver tube.

Read all instructions thoroughly before beginning. Your truck must already have a gooseneck receiver tube installed in the bed. Ensure the receiver tube is clean and free of dirt and debris before inserting the ball.
1. Lift the handle from its seat and rotate it 90 degrees. 2. Insert the gooseneck ball into the receiver tube in the truck bed. 3. Rotate the handle to the locked position. 4. Flip the handle down into its seat. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position prior to coupling. If the handle does not freely rotate into the locked position, rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the handle.
Rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the handle. This should allow the handle to rotate freely into the locked position. Once it does, flip the handle down into the seated position.
Remove the ball from the receiver tube and store it in a dry, clean area. Place the rubber cover (#66155, sold separately) in the gooseneck receiver to keep dirt and contaminants out while the ball is removed.
Keep the gooseneck ball, receiver and trailer coupler lubricated regularly using silicone spray or equivalent to prevent wear and rust. Keep all components free of dirt and other foreign debris. Periodically check the gooseneck hitch to ensure all fasteners are tight and structural components are sound. Failure to maintain the towing system could result in poor performance and/or failure.

Before towing the first time: 1. Verify adequate turning clearance between the truck cab/box corners and trailer(s). 2. Check truck box clearance—there should be a minimum of 6 inches between the bottom of the trailer overhang and the top of the box sides. 3. Verify all hardware is torqued to the proper specification. 4. Verify the trailer safety chain length has only enough slack to allow full turning without interference. 5. Verify trailer attachments to safety chain anchors are secure and cannot be shaken free during towing.
Before towing every time: 1. Ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound. Do not tow with worn or damaged parts. 2. Attach trailer securely to safety chain anchors. 3. Ensure trailer weight does not exceed any part of the towing system and load is heavier towards the front of the trailer without exceeding hitch tongue weight. 4. Ensure trailer load is secured to prevent shifting and centered left to right. Never load the trailer heavier behind the trailer axle(s). 5. Check tires are inflated to proper specification per vehicle and trailer recommendations. 6. Verify trailer lights, electric brakes and breakaway switches are working properly.
There should be a minimum clearance of 6 inches between the bottom of the trailer overhang and the top of the box sides. Verify this clearance before towing for the first time to ensure the trailer does not contact the truck box during turning.
