Outfitting your pickup to tow gooseneck trailers is easy with the CURT OEM puck system gooseneck ball and safety chain anchor kit. The components of this 38K kit easily drop into the truck bed pucks, instantly equipping the truck for gooseneck towing. The kit includes a gooseneck ball, safety chain anchors, a rubber hole cover and a durable storage case. It is designed specifically for the Chevrolet, Ford, GMC or Nissan Titan XD puck system and cannot be installed without it. It is rated for 38,000 lbs. GTW and 9,500 lbs. vertical load. The OEM puck system gooseneck ball perfectly fits into the center ball hole and provides a 2-5/16" ball to fit most standard gooseneck trailers. It features with a patented installation system, operating with a simple quarter-turn latch lock for ease of use and a secure mount. Retention balls, built into the shank, keep the gooseneck ball fixed into the receiver hole and keep your trailer locked on tight. Also included in the kit are CURT OEM puck system gooseneck safety chain anchors. Like the gooseneck ball, these patented anchors are made specifically for Chevrolet, Ford, GMC or Nissan Titan XD pickup trucks with the puck system and provide a reliable connection for your gooseneck trailer. They feature a simple drop-in installation system with no tools required, and they offer large safety chain loops to accept heavy-duty clevis hooks. These safety chain anchors are constructed from heavy-duty, cast steel and have a highly durable powder coat finish. Finally, this gooseneck puck system kit includes a tough rubber hole cover to keep water, dirt, grime and rust out of the gooseneck ball hole. The cover installs with a friction fit and helps extend the life of your gooseneck hitch. We also include a durable plastic storage case with each kit to keep the components protected and together for easy storage. The case can be stored inside your truck or truck bed tool box to keep the ball and anchors on-hand whenever you need them.

The CURT OEM Puck System 2-5/16" Gooseneck Kit, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan (38K) Gooseneck Trailer Hitch (Part #BKDK60639) fits 2016-2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD models. The 2026 model year is the last year covered by this part number. For newer models, check for an updated version.
The CURT OEM Puck System 2-5/16" Gooseneck Kit, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan (38K) Gooseneck Trailer Hitch (Part #BKDK60639) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The kit includes: 2 safety chain anchors, 2 × 10mm pins, 2 × 5mm lynch pins, and 1 gooseneck ball (2-5/16" size). No tools are required for installation.
The CURT 60639 is designed for trucks with puck system mounts in the bed. The system uses the truck's factory puck system receiver tube and rear-most puck system mounts. Verify your truck has these factory features before purchasing. Consult your truck's owner's manual or contact CURT at 877-287-8634 to confirm compatibility with your specific vehicle.
The system has a gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 38,000 lbs. and a vertical load capacity of 9,500 lbs. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than these ratings.
1. Insert both safety chain anchors into the rear-most truck bed puck system mounts (always use the rear-most mounts, not forward ones). 2. Rotate each anchor 90° toward the truck's taillights so both rings face the rear. 3. Insert a 10mm pin into the top of each anchor. 4. Secure each pin with a 5mm lynch pin, ensuring both are fully inserted and engaged.
1. Lift the handle on top of the ball from its seat and rotate it 90°. 2. Insert the gooseneck ball into the truck bed puck system receiver tube. 3. Rotate the lift handle to the locked position and flip it down into its seat. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position before coupling. If the handle does not rotate freely, rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the lift handle.
No tools are required. The system is designed for tool-free installation.
There must be a minimum clearance of 6" between the bottom of the trailer's overhang and the top of the truck box sides. Verify this clearance before towing to prevent contact during turning or suspension movement.
Keep the gooseneck ball, safety chain anchor pins, and towing system lubricated regularly using silicone spray or equivalent to prevent wear and rust. When not in use, remove the ball and anchors from the truck bed and store them in the included case or a dry, clean area. Place the puck system anchor hole covers (supplied by the truck manufacturer) into the puck system holes when anchors are removed to keep dirt and debris out. Place a rubber cover into the gooseneck receiver when the ball is removed. Failure to maintain the towing system could result in poor performance and/or failure.
No. Do not tow more than one trailer at a time, as this may cause loss of control.
Severe bumps can damage the towing system. Avoid rough terrain or drive slowly over it. Periodically check the condition of all towing equipment, ensure all fasteners are tight, and verify that all structural components are sound. Do not tow a trailer with worn or damaged parts.
Verify the trailer safety chain length before towing. Leave only enough slack in the chain to allow full turning without interference with the truck cab or box corners. Too much slack in the chain may prevent maintaining control in the event of separation. Ensure the safety chains and hooks are rated to the load capacity of the trailer, and verify that trailer attachments to the safety chain anchors are secure and cannot be shaken free during towing.
Tongue weight should be 10–15% of the gross trailer weight for most trailers. Too low a tongue weight often produces a tendency to sway. Heavy items should be placed close to the floor near the trailer axle centerline, and the load should be balanced side to side and firmly secured to prevent shifting. Never load the trailer heavier behind the trailer axle(s).
Verify that both safety chain anchors are properly installed in the rear-most puck system mounts and secured with lynch pins. Ensure the gooseneck ball lift handle is in the locked position and flipped down into its seat. Check that the handle matches the ball profile while locked. Verify adequate turning clearance between the truck cab/box corners and the trailer. Confirm minimum 6" clearance between the trailer overhang and the top of the truck box sides. Ensure all fasteners are tight and all structural components are sound.
Before towing, verify that trailer lights, turn signals, electric brakes, and breakaway switches are working properly. Ensure tires are inflated to their maximum recommended pressure unless specified otherwise by the towing vehicle or trailer manufacturer. Review your trailer's owner's manual for specific recommendations, capacities, and requirements. Verify that the trailer is securely attached to the safety chain anchors and that the safety chains and hooks are rated to the trailer's load capacity.
Yes. The system installs into the truck bed's puck system mounts and receiver tube. Your truck must have these factory features.
No tools are required. Installation is tool-free and rated Easy.
The gooseneck ball is 2-5/16" in diameter.
The system supports a gross trailer weight (GTW) of 38,000 lbs. and a vertical load of 9,500 lbs., but never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Remove the ball and anchors from the truck bed and store them in the included case or a dry, clean area. Place puck system anchor hole covers and a rubber cover over the gooseneck receiver to keep dirt and debris out.
