The components of this 38K kit quickly and easily drop into the truck bed pucks, instantly equipping the truck for gooseneck towing. The kit includes a gooseneck ball, safety chain anchors, a rubber hole cover and a durable storage case. It is designed specifically for the Ram puck system and cannot be installed without it. It is rated for 38,000 lbs. GTW and 9,500 lbs. vertical load. The OEM puck system gooseneck ball perfectly fits into the center ball hole and provides a 2-5/16" ball to fit most standard gooseneck trailers. It features with a patented installation system, operating with a simple quarter-turn latch lock for ease of use and a secure mount. Retention balls, built into the shank, keep the gooseneck ball fixed into the receiver hole and keep your trailer locked on tight. Also included in the kit are CURT OEM puck system gooseneck safety chain anchors. Like the gooseneck ball, these patented anchors are made specifically for Ram pickup trucks with the puck system and provide a reliable connection for your gooseneck trailer. They feature a simple drop-in installation system with no tools required, and they offer large safety chain loops to accept heavy-duty clevis hooks. These safety chain anchors are constructed from heavy-duty, cast steel and have a highly durable powder coat finish. Finally, the Ram puck system gooseneck kit includes a tough rubber hole cover to keep water, dirt, grime and rust out of the gooseneck ball hole. The cover installs with a friction fit and helps extend the life of your Ram gooseneck hitch. This kit (Part #60638) fits 2013-2026 Ram 2500 and 2013-2026 Ram 3500 trucks equipped with the factory puck system. It's specifically engineered for Ram's OEM puck system and cannot be installed without it. Always double-check that your truck has the puck system before ordering.
Installation is incredibly simple with this puck system kit - no tools required! The gooseneck ball uses a quarter-turn latch system and the safety chain anchors just drop right into your existing Ram puck system. The whole setup takes practically no time since it's a simple drop-in installation.

The CURT 60638 is designed for trucks equipped with a puck system in the truck bed. The system uses the truck's factory puck system mounts and receiver tube. Verify your truck has these factory components before purchasing.

Both safety chain anchors must be installed in the rear-most puck system mounts on both sides of the truck bed. The manual explicitly states: 'Always install in the rear-most mounts.' After insertion, rotate each anchor 90° toward the center of the truck so both rings face the center.
After inserting each safety chain anchor into the rear-most puck mount and rotating it 90° toward the center, insert a 12mm pin into the top of the anchor. Secure the pin using the provided 5mm lynch pin. Both the 12mm pin and 5mm lynch pin must be fully inserted and engaged.
1. Lift the handle on top of the ball from its seat and rotate it 90°. 2. Insert the gooseneck ball into the truck bed puck system receiver tube. 3. Rotate the lift handle to the locked position. 4. Flip the handle down into its seat. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position prior to coupling.
Rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the lift handle. When the lift handle rotates into the locked position, flip it down into the seated position. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position prior to coupling.
Keep the gooseneck ball, safety chain anchor pins, and towing system lubricated regularly using silicone spray or equivalent to prevent wear and rust. When not in use, remove the ball and anchors from the truck bed and store them in the included case or a dry, clean area. Place the puck system anchor hole covers (supplied by the truck manufacturer) into the puck system holes when anchors are removed to keep dirt and debris out. Place a rubber cover into the gooseneck receiver when the ball is removed. Failure to maintain the towing system could result in poor performance and/or failure.

Before towing, verify: (1) adequate turning clearance between the truck cab/box corners and trailer; (2) trailer safety chain length and attachment security; (3) all towing equipment fasteners are tight and structural components are sound; (4) minimum 6-inch clearance between trailer overhang and truck box sides; (5) all anchors are properly installed and secured with lynch pins; (6) trailer attachments to safety chain anchors are secure and cannot be shaken free; (7) safety chains and hooks are rated to the trailer's load capacity; (8) trailer lights, electric brakes, and breakaway switches are working; (9) tire inflation is at maximum recommended pressure; and (10) your truck and trailer manufacturer's recommendations are reviewed.
