Outfitting your pickup to tow a heavy-duty flatbed or livestock trailer is easy with the CURT OEM puck system gooseneck ball. Like our OEM puck system safety chain anchors, this 38K gooseneck ball utilizes the puck system built into certain pickup trucks today with the towing prep package. It features a patented installation system, operating with a simple quarter-turn latch lock for ease of use and a secure mount. Stainless steel retention balls, built into the shank, keep the gooseneck ball fixed into the receiver hole and keep your trailer locked on tight. It provides a ball diameter of 3" and has a gross trailer weight capacity of 38,000 lbs. It also comes with a durable chrome finish and meets J2638 specifications for safety. This particular OEM puck system gooseneck ball is compatible with Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan Titan XD and Ram pickups with the truck bed puck system. It is not designed to fit any other gooseneck ball holes.

The CURT 60634 is designed for trucks with a bed puck system receiver tube. You must verify your truck has this system before purchasing. Consult your vehicle owner's manual or contact CURT at 877-287-8634 to confirm compatibility with your specific truck model and year.
The CURT 60634 has a gross trailer weight (GTW) capacity of 38,000 lbs. and a vertical load capacity of 9,500 lbs. Never exceed your vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity, which may be lower than the product capacity.
No tools are required to install the CURT 60634 gooseneck ball. Installation involves only lifting and rotating the handle and inserting the ball into the receiver tube.
Lift the handle on top of the ball 90° from its seat, insert the ball into the truck bed puck system receiver tube, rotate the handle to the locked position, and flip it down into its seat. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position before coupling.
Keep the gooseneck ball and towing system lubricated regularly using silicone spray or equivalent to prevent wear and rust. When not in use, remove the ball and store it in a case or dry, clean area. Place a rubber cover in the receiver to keep dirt and debris out. Periodically check all fasteners and structural components for tightness and damage.
Tongue weight should be 10–15% of the gross trailer weight for most trailers. Too low a tongue weight often produces a tendency to sway. Consult your trailer manufacturer's recommendations for your specific trailer.
The CURT 60634 package includes one 3-inch gooseneck ball. No additional hardware or tools are included or required for installation.
If the lift handle does not freely rotate into the locked position, rotate the ball while applying light pressure to the side of the lift handle. Once the handle rotates into the locked position, flip it down into the seated position. The handle must match the ball profile while in the locked position before coupling.
Remove the gooseneck ball from the receiver tube and store it in a case or a dry, clean area. Place a rubber cover into the gooseneck receiver when the ball is removed to keep dirt and debris out. This prevents rust and damage to both the ball and receiver.
There should be a minimum clearance of 6 inches between the bottom of the trailer's overhang and the top of the truck box sides. Verify this clearance before towing to prevent contact and damage during turning.

Before towing, verify adequate turning clearance between the truck cab and box corners and the trailer, check trailer safety chain length (leave only enough slack for full turning without interference), ensure all towing equipment fasteners are tight and structural components are sound, verify trailer lights and electric brakes are working, and confirm the trailer is not loaded heavier behind the axles. Consult your vehicle and trailer owner's manuals for specific recommendations.
Vehicle performance (braking, handling, acceleration, turning radius) can be drastically affected by a trailer. Allow additional time and space for stopping, changing lanes, passing and turning. Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended towing capacity.
Severe bumps can damage the towing system. Avoid or drive slowly over rough terrain to prevent damage to the CURT 60634 and other towing components.
Heavy items should be placed close to the floor near the trailer axle centerline. The load should be balanced side to side and firmly secured to prevent shifting. Never load the trailer heavier behind the trailer axle(s), as this can cause instability. Tongue weight should be 10–15% of the gross trailer weight for most trailers.
Use silicone spray or equivalent to lubricate the gooseneck ball and towing system regularly. This prevents wear and rust. Failure to maintain the towing system could result in poor performance and/or failure.
Unless specified by the towing vehicle or trailer manufacturer, tires should be inflated to their maximum recommended pressure. Consult your vehicle and trailer owner's manuals for specific tire pressure recommendations.
Verify the trailer safety chain length. Too much slack in the chain may prevent maintaining control in the event of separation. Leave only enough slack to allow full turning without interference. Attach the trailer securely to safety chain anchors.
Do not tow a trailer with worn or damaged parts. Periodically check the condition of all towing equipment, ensure all fasteners are tight, and verify that all structural components are sound. Failure to maintain the towing system could result in poor performance and/or failure.
