Want to take the family on a cross-country adventure? Or perhaps you're planning a shorter trip to your favorite campground. Whatever your destination, it's important to have the right equipment, especially when towing a fifth wheel trailer. To ensure proper hookup and safety while towing, you'll need something to attach your fifth wheel hitch in the bed on your truck. Many pickups come equipped with factory-installed rails or puck systems, but if you don't have one of these already installed, don't worry. REESE has an extensive line of mounting rails and bracket kits, custom-made to the exact specifications needed based on your truck's year, make, and model. REESE also offers several Industry Standard designs, as well as fastener kits, spacer kits, and a Power Puck mounting kit, so you can be sure you're covered, no matter what pickup you're using to tow. So make it easy. Make it fun. Make it REESE, so you can make the journey as enjoyable as the destination.

Reese has designed towing equipment since 1952 and remains a benchmark for heavy-duty towing. The line covers fifth wheel hitches such as the modular M5, gooseneck couplers including the Goose Box, air-ride and short-bed pin boxes, weight distribution systems with active sway control, and the accessories that connect them, all built to exceed published industry standards.
Reese has been pioneering towing performance since 1952, when Margaret Reese asked her husband TJ to stop travel trailers rocking every time somebody walked through them. His answer, the first pair of stabilising jacks, was simple and effective enough to change the RV industry. From that starting point Reese grew into a designer and manufacturer of complete towing systems, and today it anchors the heavy-duty end of the Horizon Global towing portfolio.
Fifth wheel towing is where the brand's engineering is most visible. The M5 fifth wheel hitch uses a modular design that breaks into manageable sections for assembly, with a wider stance, tighter tolerances and a shock absorption system aimed at the jolts that travel up through a truck bed. For owners who would rather tow from a gooseneck coupler and keep the bed clear, the Goose Box 20K replaces the trailer's king pin with a gooseneck connection carrying its own air-ride cushioning.
Pin boxes are a Reese speciality. The 5th Airborne uses air-ride technology to dampen road shock and reduce the chucking motion that makes fifth wheel towing tiring, while the Sidewinder was designed for short-bed pickups, pivoting the connection point so the trailer can turn sharply without the front cap meeting the cab.
For conventional towing, Reese weight distribution systems restore load to the tow vehicle's front axle and control sway. The Pro Round Bar distributes weight evenly while damping sway, and the Pro Dual Cam II uses active cam-based sway control that works harder the stronger the sway force becomes. Complete kits pair bars, head and shank to a rated tongue weight, and dedicated sway control kits can be added to existing setups. The products suit RV owners, horse and livestock haulers and anyone towing near the upper end of a vehicle's rating.

The Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch Mounting System Bracket Kit RE58186 (Part #RE58186) fits the following vehicles: 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 2500; 2003-2010 Dodge Ram 3500. Always verify your specific year, make, and model before ordering.
The Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch Mounting System Bracket Kit RE58186 (Part #RE58186) Drilling is required for installation. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The N58186 overload brackets are designed for Dodge 2003 and newer 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. They are available for both long box (28 5/16") and short box (26 5/16") configurations. Confirm your truck model year and bed length before ordering.
The N58186 is an overload bracket kit for Dodge 2500 and 3500 trucks. It is used with the 30035 kit and mounts to the frame and bed sill to provide additional support. The brackets position the king pin centered over the axle center.
You must use tube spacers and 4" carriage bolts from the 30035 kit to attach the brackets through the bed sill (Row 3 mounting holes). The manual also requires you to read pages 2-3 of the 30035 kit instructions before starting installation.
The N58186 kit includes side brackets, long brackets, a supplied pull wire for rib neck bolts, and slotted spacers. You must also use tube spacers and 4" carriage bolts from the 30035 kit. For the two center holes, you will need 1/2" carriage bolts, washers, nuts, and slotted spacers to fill bed corrugation.
Yes. The manual includes a caution stating: "Read pages 2-3 of 30035 instructions before starting installation. Failure to do so could result in significant vehicle damage!" You must review those pages first.
You will need a 17/32" drill bit to drill through the bed sill, and a 1" diameter drill to open up the hole through the truck bed only. The manual also references drilling 2 center holes and 8 holes for the 30035 kit, but specific bit sizes for those are not provided in this document.
Yes. You must drill through the bed sill with a 17/32" drill bit, then open up the hole through the truck bed with a 1" diameter drill. You will also drill 2 center holes and 8 holes for the 30035 kit. The manual emphasizes checking for obstructions before drilling to avoid damaging fuel or brake lines or structural members.
No. The manual explicitly states: "Do not drill thru both walls of frame. Drill only thru wall of frame to which bracket is mounted." Drilling through both walls could damage the frame.
Drop the tube spacer through the hole in the truck bed before inserting the 4" carriage bolt. This prevents the bolt from crushing the bed sill when torqued. The tube spacers are supplied with the 30035 kit.
Rear brackets can be mounted to the frame with 2 bolts in any combination of the three bracket holes. This gives you flexibility in positioning based on your truck's frame configuration.
Brackets in Row 2 must be positioned against the rear side of the bed sill, as shown in the diagram. This is critical because the Dodge truck bed sill has dimensional instability. If brackets are not positioned correctly, interference could result when drilling Row 3 holes. Double-check all areas prior to drilling.
Rib neck bolts must be pulled through rearward access holes in the frame using the supplied pull wire. The manual notes this is necessary but does not provide detailed step-by-step instructions for the pull wire procedure.
The king pin must be centered over the axle center. This is shown in the diagram and is critical for proper load distribution and towing safety.
The manual shows an optional weld pattern on the side bracket diagram. However, it includes a caution: "Due to tubular frames having thinner walls than previous C channel frames, extra caution needs to be used when mounting with the optional welding." Specific welding specifications and procedures are not provided in this document. Consult the manufacturer or a qualified welder before attempting welded installation.
Before drilling, check for obstructions such as fuel lines, brake lines, and structural members. The manual states: "Check for obstructions before drilling. Failure to do so could result in damaged fuel or brake lines, structural members, etc." Towing Products notes that it is ultimately the installer's responsibility to prevent damage due to installation.
You need to measure from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the base rail. This measurement helps you position the brackets correctly. The manual also specifies that long box trucks are 28 5/16" and short box trucks are 26 5/16" from the rear edge of the truck bed.
Yes, if your truck is 2003 or newer. Confirm your bed length: long box (28 5/16") or short box (26 5/16"). You must also use it with the 30035 kit.
You must use tube spacers and 4" carriage bolts from the 30035 kit. For center holes, you need 1/2" carriage bolts, washers, nuts, and slotted spacers. You must also read pages 2-3 of the 30035 kit instructions first.
Yes. You must drill through the bed sill with a 17/32" bit and open the truck bed hole with a 1" bit. Check for fuel and brake lines before drilling. Do not drill through both frame walls.
Drop the tube spacer through the bed hole before inserting the 4" carriage bolt. This protects the bed sill from crushing when the bolt is torqued.
Row 2 brackets must be against the rear side of the bed sill to prevent interference when drilling Row 3. Double-check positioning before drilling.
