Want to take the family on a cross-country adventure? Or perhaps you're planning a shorter trip to your favorite campground. Whatever your destination, it's important to have the right equipment, especially when towing a fifth wheel trailer. To ensure proper hookup and safety while towing, you'll need something to attach your fifth wheel hitch in the bed on your truck. Many pickups come equipped with factory-installed rails or puck systems, but if you don't have one of these already installed, don't worry. REESE has an extensive line of mounting rails and bracket kits, custom-made to the exact specifications needed based on your truck's year, make, and model. REESE also offers several Industry Standard designs, as well as fastener kits, spacer kits, and a Power Puck mounting kit, so you can be sure you're covered, no matter what pickup you're using to tow. So make it easy. Make it fun. Make it REESE, so you can make the journey as enjoyable as the destination.

Reese has designed towing equipment since 1952 and remains a benchmark for heavy-duty towing. The line covers fifth wheel hitches such as the modular M5, gooseneck couplers including the Goose Box, air-ride and short-bed pin boxes, weight distribution systems with active sway control, and the accessories that connect them, all built to exceed published industry standards.
Reese has been pioneering towing performance since 1952, when Margaret Reese asked her husband TJ to stop travel trailers rocking every time somebody walked through them. His answer, the first pair of stabilising jacks, was simple and effective enough to change the RV industry. From that starting point Reese grew into a designer and manufacturer of complete towing systems, and today it anchors the heavy-duty end of the Horizon Global towing portfolio.
Fifth wheel towing is where the brand's engineering is most visible. The M5 fifth wheel hitch uses a modular design that breaks into manageable sections for assembly, with a wider stance, tighter tolerances and a shock absorption system aimed at the jolts that travel up through a truck bed. For owners who would rather tow from a gooseneck coupler and keep the bed clear, the Goose Box 20K replaces the trailer's king pin with a gooseneck connection carrying its own air-ride cushioning.
Pin boxes are a Reese speciality. The 5th Airborne uses air-ride technology to dampen road shock and reduce the chucking motion that makes fifth wheel towing tiring, while the Sidewinder was designed for short-bed pickups, pivoting the connection point so the trailer can turn sharply without the front cap meeting the cab.
For conventional towing, Reese weight distribution systems restore load to the tow vehicle's front axle and control sway. The Pro Round Bar distributes weight evenly while damping sway, and the Pro Dual Cam II uses active cam-based sway control that works harder the stronger the sway force becomes. Complete kits pair bars, head and shank to a rated tongue weight, and dedicated sway control kits can be added to existing setups. The products suit RV owners, horse and livestock haulers and anyone towing near the upper end of a vehicle's rating.

The 58520 Adapter Kit is designed for 2013-Current RAM 3500 models. It requires the 58520 Bracket Kit and the 30035 Kit to function. Before installation, visit www.ReeseProducts.com to verify your vehicle application and ensure your kit contains the most recent revision of the installation instructions.
The manual references both 30 5/8" Long Box and 28 5/8" Short Box configurations in the drilling diagram, indicating the kit is designed to work with both bed lengths. However, the manual does not provide specific installation differences between the two. Verify your bed length and consult www.ReeseProducts.com or contact the manufacturer if you need bed-specific guidance.
The 58520 kit includes: 4-3/8" U-Bolts (Grade 5), a pull wire for rib neck bolts, and slotted spacers. The kit also requires tube spacers and 4.5" carriage bolts from the 30035 Kit. Additional fasteners needed include 2" carriage bolts, washers, and nuts for the bed sill attachment. Do not substitute fasteners; use only those specified.
The manual specifies drilling with a 17/32" drill bit and a 1" diameter drill bit. A torque wrench capable of 75 Ft.-Lbs. is required for the U-Bolts. The manual does not provide a complete tool list. Before starting, read pages 2-3 of the 30035 Kit instructions, which may specify additional tools needed for the complete installation.
Yes. The manual includes a caution stating: "Read pages 2-3 of 30035 instructions before starting installation. Failure to do so could result in significant vehicle damage." The 58520 is an adapter kit for the 30035 Kit, so understanding the base kit installation is essential before proceeding.
Yes, drilling is required. You must drill through the Bed Sill with a 17/32" drill bit, and open up the hole through the truck bed only with a 1" diameter drill bit. The manual also references drilling additional holes in the frame for bracket attachment. Before drilling, you must check for obstructions to avoid damaging fuel lines, brake lines, or structural members.
Before drilling, check for obstructions to avoid damaging fuel lines, brake lines, or structural members. Do not drill through both walls of the frame; drill only through the wall to which the bracket is mounted. The manual emphasizes that it is the installer's responsibility to prevent damage due to installation. Cequent Performance Products communicates vehicle manufacturer changes, but the installer must verify clearance in all areas prior to drilling.
Welding is optional and is shown in the diagram with a weld pattern. However, the manual cautions: "Due to tubular frames having thinner walls than previous C channel frames, extra caution needs to be used when mounting with the optional welding." If you choose to weld, consult a qualified welder familiar with thin-wall tubular frame construction.
The 4-3/8" U-Bolts (Grade 5) must be torqued to 75 Ft.-Lbs. These bolts are used to clamp the forward brackets to the frame.
Two drill bit sizes are specified: a 17/32" drill bit for drilling through the Bed Sill, and a 1" diameter drill bit for opening up the hole through the truck bed only. Do not use the 1" bit on the Bed Sill itself.
Use the tube spacers and 4.5" carriage bolts provided with the 30035 Kit. Drill through the Bed Sill with a 17/32" drill bit, then open up the hole through the truck bed only with a 1" diameter drill bit. Drop the tube spacer through the hole in the truck bed to avoid crushing the Bed Sill when torqueing the 4.5" carriage bolts. This prevents damage to the thinner Bed Sill material.
Rib neck bolts must be pulled through rearward access holes in the frame using the supplied pull wire. The manual does not provide detailed step-by-step instructions for this procedure. Refer to the 30035 Kit instructions (pages 2-3) for complete guidance on rib neck bolt installation.
The brackets in Row 3 must be positioned against the forward side of the Bed Sill, as shown in the diagram. The manual emphasizes: "It is very important that brackets in Row 3 are against the forward side of the Bed Sill as shown. Due to dimensional instability in Bed Sill placement with the Ram truck, interference could result when drilling in Row 2." Double-check all areas prior to drilling.
The tube spacer is dropped through the hole in the truck bed to avoid crushing the Bed Sill when torqueing the 4.5" carriage bolts. It distributes the clamping force and protects the thinner Bed Sill material from damage during fastener tightening.
Measure from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the base rail. The diagram shows the measurement points for both Long Box (30 5/8") and Short Box (28 5/8") configurations. Use these measurements to locate the correct drilling positions for Row 2 and subsequent rows.
The manual explicitly states: "Do not drill thru both walls of frame. Drill only thru wall of frame to which bracket is mounted." Drilling through both walls could damage internal frame components, fuel lines, brake lines, or structural integrity. The installer is responsible for preventing such damage.
The 58520 Adapter Kit fits 2013-Current RAM 3500 models and requires the 58520 Bracket Kit and 30035 Kit. Verify your application at www.ReeseProducts.com before purchase.
