Each box features a corrosion-resistant aluminum construction, heavy-duty aircraft cable door supports and a stainless steel locking system -- all to keep your equipment and valuables safe and easily accessible whenever needed. Each UWS truck side tool box is constructed from extra-thick aluminum for increased structural strength. The tub is welded together into a single piece for weather resistance and to easily hold heavy tools and other items. The doors feature aircraft-grade stainless steel cables, ensuring reliable strength and door operation. The locking mechanism of this truck side tool box provides excellent security for your items, featuring stainless steel, key-operated T-handles. Stainless steel construction supplies the locks with long-lasting corrosion resistance, and the doors also have a MicroSeal stripping, blocking moisture, dust and insects from getting inside and damaging your valuables. The doors also open a full 90 degrees for easier access. UWS truck tool boxes are available in multiple sizes to accommodate any storage need. The kit includes one topside tool box, two keys, and two legs. Hardware (bolts, nuts and washers) is not included and must be purchased separately.
The tool box is designed for truck beds with rails. Installation requires the box to be placed on the bed rail with legs extending to the truck bed. Compatibility depends on your specific truck bed configuration, rail width and height. Consult your dealer if you have questions about fitment for your vehicle.
You will need: drill, drill bit set, ratchet, socket set, tape measure, level, square, and marker. You must also purchase your own hardware (bolts, nuts and washers) to secure the tool box and legs.
Hardware is not included. You must purchase bolts, nuts and washers to attach the legs to the tool box and, optionally, to the truck bed. The manual provides torque specifications for M6, M8, M10 and M12 metric bolts, and 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2" SAE bolts. If purchasing hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Park the truck on level ground. Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks or other components. Take precaution that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or damage during a collision.
1. Park the truck on level ground and place the tool box on the bed rail with handles and logo plate facing outward. 2. Ensure the tool box is level. Place one leg on a corner not resting on the bed rail and use a square to ensure it is vertical and at the correct height to rest on the truck bed. 3. Mark two mounting locations on the leg and tool box corner, drill two holes, and secure with purchased hardware. 4. Repeat for the other leg. Optionally, legs may be bolted to the truck bed for added security.
