UWS crossover truck tool boxes are the tried-and-true way of keeping your tools organized, on-hand and fully secure no matter where you and your truck roam. Each UWS tool box is built from extra-thick aluminum welded into a single-piece tub. This provides the tool box with reliable strength and helps keep the interior sealed off from the elements. Aluminum construction also makes the box highly resistant to corrosion for long-lasting use. This particular tool box features a gull wing top with two lockable, key-operated lids, providing convenient half-box access from either the driver side or passenger side of the truck. To give the lids reliable strength, they feature our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. Layered between two sheets of aluminum, this core greatly increases structural integrity to prevent bending and warping and to ensure smooth opening and closing. The lids also feature self-opening struts to make it easy to open the tool box when your hands are full. To keep out moisture, dirt and even insects, each lid is also fitted with a MicroSeal gasket that seals off the inside of the tool box from the outside elements. UWS crossover truck tool boxes make it easy to keep your tools and other items organized, featuring built-in screwdriver holders and a three-compartment sliding tool tray. The tool box itself is easy to install and is available in multiple sizes to provide the perfect for your truck and lifestyle. Like all UWS products, each crossover truck tool box is proudly assembled right here in the USA for style and long-lasting dependability.

UWS designs and builds heavy-duty truck tool boxes and storage for tradespeople and truck owners. The line covers crossover and side-mount boxes, chest boxes, underbody boxes, transfer tanks and dog boxes. Every aluminum box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, with construction aimed at job-site abuse, road vibration and daily use.
UWS is a leading manufacturer and designer of truck tool boxes and truck accessories, and a Lippert brand. The company's focus is narrow and deliberate: storage that stands up to being opened and slammed shut dozens of times a day, loaded past what looks reasonable, and left outdoors in whatever weather the job brings. Its customers are electricians, plumbers, contractors, farmers, outdoorsmen and truck owners who treat a pickup as a working tool rather than transport.
The catalog covers the full range of bed storage. Crossover boxes sit across the bed behind the cab in single-lid, gull-wing, secure-lock and low-profile styles, so there is a fit whether the priority is capacity, rear visibility or working under a tonneau. Side-mount boxes mount along the bed rails and keep the bed floor free for cargo, while underbody boxes tuck beneath the frame rails of service bodies and flatbeds.
Beyond the bed, UWS makes portable chest boxes that move between vehicles and the shop, transfer tanks and combination tank-and-toolbox units for crews working away from fuel supply, and insulated, ventilated dog boxes for hunters and handlers.
Manufacturing sits at the centre of the brand's identity. Every UWS aluminum tool box is designed, fabricated and welded in Perry, Florida, by tradespeople with decades of experience, and the company's Rooted in Trades initiative is built around that connection to skilled manual work. Boxes use heavy-gauge aluminum, continuous welds at the seams, weather stripping to seal against rain and dust, and locking systems intended to resist tampering. The practical result is storage that keeps tools dry, organized and where they were left.

The UWS Bright Aluminum 72" Gull Wing Crossover Truck Tool Box TB-72 (Part #BHSGTB-72) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
The package includes one crossover truck tool box, one key, two rail pads, two 3-inch J-hooks, two 1/4" washers, and two 1/4" nuts. Note that the divider tray is not included with all models.
The tool box is designed for truck beds with side rails. The manual does not specify which vehicle models, bed lengths, or cab styles are compatible. Contact the manufacturer at 877.287.8634 or consult your dealer to confirm fitment for your specific truck.
You will need a ratchet, socket set, and tape measure. The manual rates the installation difficulty as Easy.
The manual rates installation difficulty as Easy and does not require professional installation. However, you should read all instructions thoroughly before beginning and consult your dealer if you have questions about installation, operation or use.
Place the tool box in the truck bed and use a tape measure to ensure it is centered. Open the lid and check clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab. The rail pads (adhesive side) should be attached to the underside of the tool box ends before placing it on the truck bed rails.
The rail pads protect the truck bed rails and provide grip. Attach the adhesive side of each rail pad to the underside of the tool box ends, then place the tool box with the pads on top of the truck bed rails.
Place a J-hook under the lip of the bed rail and insert the threaded end up through the slot. Use only one J-hook assembly on each side. Attach with a 1/4" washer and 1/4" nut. Snug the hardware but do not fully tighten until you have re-measured to ensure the tool box is centered and the lid has clearance when open. Then fully tighten all hardware.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required for all installations. However, it warns: "Before drilling into your truck bed, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, etc." This suggests drilling may be necessary for some installations. Consult your dealer if you are unsure whether drilling is required for your truck.
Before drilling, check under your vehicle to ensure the drill location does not puncture, cut or obstruct any brake or fuel fluid lines, electrical wires, fuel tanks, or other components. Take precaution that all fasteners near the fuel tank do not create the possibility of fuel tank puncture or other damage during a collision. After drilling, treat or seal all fasteners and exposed metal in any holes to prevent corrosion.
The torque specification for 1/4" bolts is 3 ft-lbs. This is a general guideline; if you purchase replacement hardware, use the torque specifications provided with that hardware.
Do not use this product for storing or transporting flammables, explosives, hazardous materials or hazardous waste, such as containers of gasoline, solvents, gun powder, dynamite, propane tanks, acetylene tanks and cutting torches. Danger of explosion.
Never exceed the vehicle manufacturer's recommended capacity. The manual does not specify the tool box's weight capacity; consult your vehicle's owner manual or the manufacturer at 877.287.8634 for this information.
Yes. The product can reduce the driver's ability to clearly see roadways, vehicular or pedestrian traffic and other objects through the rear and side windows of the vehicle, which may cause an accident. Extra precaution should be taken when driving a vehicle with this product.
No. Do not interfere with factory-installed safety equipment. If you have questions about whether the tool box will interfere with your vehicle's safety systems, consult your dealer.
Ensure the tool box is centered in the truck bed and that there is clearance between the open lid and the top and back of the cab. Ensure all knobs, bolts, screws, straps and locks are firmly secured. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Mild automotive detergent may be used to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or other similar products that may damage the finish. Periodically lubricate the strikers and locks to ensure optimum performance. Periodically re-tighten and inspect all components for signs of wear, corrosion and fatigue.
