The box features extra-thick, one-piece aluminum construction, our patented RigidCore foam-filled lid and stainless steel locking handles. This particular UTV tool box comes with vehicle-specific mounting hardware and offers a custom fit for certain years of the Honda Pioneer 1000 (see application information to verify compatibility). It measures 59-3/4" x 12-1/4" x 10-1/4". The tub is made with 0.058" thick aluminum, welded together into a single piece for added strength. It is also shielded in a durable black powder coat finish for maximum corrosion resistance. The lid of this UTV tool box features our patented RigidCore foam-filled design. This strengthens the lid against warping and promotes smooth opening and closing. It also features self-opening gas struts for convenient access when your hands are full. The lid is finished with a MicroSeal gasket around the edges to keep out moisture and debris. 1. Place foam or tape on the UTV square tube (optional). 2. With assistance, place the toolbox on the UTV and position it. 3. Mark the two outer mounting slot locations with a marker. 4. Remove the toolbox. 5. Drill four 7/16" holes at the marked locations. 6. Insert rivet nuts into the holes. 7. Seat the rivet nuts using a rivet nut tool or large pliers and screwdriver. 8. Place the toolbox back on the UTV. 9. Fasten using pan head screws, lock washers, and flat washers, tightening until lock washers are compressed.
With the toolbox lid open and the toolbox positioned on the UTV, locate the three mounting slots in the bottom of the toolbox. Mark the location of the two outer slots with a marker. Marks should be centered on the UTV box side. These marks indicate where to drill the four holes (two on each side).
A rivet nut is a threaded fastener that is inserted into a drilled hole and then seated to create a permanent threaded mounting point. After drilling the four 7/16" holes, push the rivet nuts into the holes. Then use a rivet nut tool or large pliers and a screwdriver to seat the rivet nut properly before proceeding to fasten the toolbox.
Fasten the pan head screws, lock washers, and flat washers until the lock washers are compressed. Do not over-tighten. The lock washer compression indicates proper fastening.
After installation, perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. The manual recommends regular waxing to protect the finish. If desired, tape (not included) can be placed over openings in the bottom of the toolbox to prevent dust from entering in dusty conditions.
Wax the toolbox after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, non-abrasive polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products.
