The UTV-59YV is designed for UTVs with bed rails. It is compatible with two mounting configurations: UTVs with threaded holes in the bed rails (mounted using M8 bolts) and UTVs without threaded holes (mounted using self-tapping screws). Verify your UTV has accessible bed rails before purchasing. The manual does not specify which UTV brands or models are compatible.
Yes. If your UTV does not have threaded holes in the bed rails, you can install the tool box using the alternative method in Step 5. This method uses four 1/4" self-tapping screws and four .281" x 1.25" flat washers to attach the tool box directly to the UTV bed rails. A drill is required for this installation method.
The kit includes: 1 adhesive foam strip, 2 M8 x 1.25 x 25mm bolts, 2 M8 lock washers, 2 flat washers (.344" x 1.25"), 4 flat washers (.281" x 1.25"), and 4 self-tapping screws (1/4" x 1"). The tool box itself is not included. Additional foam or tape for protection between the tool box and bed rail is optional and not included.
Required tools are: ratchet, socket extension, 13mm wrench, 3/8" nut driver, 13mm socket, and drill. The drill is only needed if your UTV does not have threaded holes in the bed rails (Step 5 installation). Proper tools will improve installation quality and reduce installation time.

Yes. Step 1 notes: 'Make sure the threaded holes are free from dirt, paint and other debris.' Clean the holes thoroughly before installation to ensure proper bolt seating and torque.
If your UTV has threaded holes in the bed rails, the closest position to the front of the cab is the second hole from the front of the box, approximately 8.75" from the front of the box. For UTVs without threaded holes, adjust the tool box to your desired position while ensuring you can access the bed rails through the slots and the lid can open freely.
Two protective measures are recommended: (1) Place foam or tape (not included) between the tool box and the bed rail to protect the finish (Step 2). (2) Place the provided adhesive foam strip onto the UTV frame where the tool box lid makes contact with the frame (Step 3). This protects both the UTV frame finish and the tool box finish.
1. Locate the second hole from the front of the box (approximately 8.75" from front). 2. Optionally place foam or tape between tool box and bed rail. 3. With assistance, place the tool box onto the UTV and open the lid. 4. Slide the tool box forward and note where the lid contacts the frame; place the provided foam strip at that contact point. 5. Insert M8 bolts with lock washers and .344" x 1.25" flat washers through the center slot into the threaded holes; hand tighten both sides. 6. Close the lid, adjust position as desired, then tighten both M8 bolts to the UTV manufacturer's recommended torque specification.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft-lbs. However, Step 4 states to tighten the M8 bolts to 'the UTV manufacturer's recommended torque specifications,' which may differ from the standard specification. Verify the correct torque with your UTV manufacturer before final tightening.
Drilling is only required if your UTV does not have threaded holes in the bed rails. In that case, Step 5 requires drilling to install four 1/4" self-tapping screws. If your UTV has threaded holes, no drilling is needed.
The manual specifies using 1/4" self-tapping screws in Step 5 but does not provide a pre-drill hole size. Self-tapping screws typically create their own holes, but consult the screw manufacturer's recommendations or your UTV manufacturer for the correct pre-drill size if required.
Use only mild automotive detergent to clean the tool box. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products that may damage the finish. After installation, wax the tool box to protect it. Regular waxing is recommended. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. The manual does not specify the inspection interval. Additionally, wax the tool box after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer over the finish.
Yes. Step 6 notes that tape (not included) can be placed over openings in the bottom of the tool box to prevent dust from entering in dusty conditions. This is optional and depends on your operating environment.
