The fish wire method is a reverse installation technique shown in Figure 1, steps a, b, and c. It involves inserting the carriage bolt and block into the 1-inch frame hole, aligning the block on the access hole, and pulling the bolt through the block. This allows fasteners to be installed through the frame without direct access.
The hitch includes: (2) carriage bolts 7/16"-14 × 1.75" Gr5, (2) blocks 1/4" × 7/8" × 3", (2) nuts 7/16"-14 Gr2, (2) conical tooth washers 7/16", and (2) fish wires 7/16". Additional fasteners are available in kit 24956F.
All 7/16"-14 GR5 fasteners must be tightened to 50 lb-ft (68 N·m) using a torque wrench. Proper torque is essential to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.

(6) Torque all 7/16"-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 lb-ft (68 N·m) and 10 mm nut assemblies to 38 lb-ft (52 N·m). (7) Reinstall the plastic push pin fasteners.
Using a flat-head screwdriver, remove the center of each plastic push pin fastener (2 total) on the bottom of the fascia. Then remove the remainder of each push pin fastener.
