Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Yes. The muffler must be lowered before hitch installation. Using an exhaust hanger removal tool, remove one rubber hanger on the passenger's side and one forward hanger at the center of the vehicle. Spray lubricant or soapy water on the rubber hangers to help them slide off the metal pins. Support the exhaust with a ratchet strap or bungee cord before removing the hangers. After hitch installation, raise the muffler back into position and reattach all rubber hangers.
Yes. Using a flat head screwdriver and 10mm socket, remove five push pin rivets and two hex nuts from the driver's side underbody panel. Note that two of the rivets connect the driver's side panel to the center panel. After hitch installation, the panel will be trimmed and reinstalled using the same five push pin rivets and one hex nut.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing weldnuts in the vehicle frame. However, it may be necessary to clean debris from the existing weldnuts using a wire brush or compressed air before installation.
Yes. After loosely installing the hitch, you must trim the driver's side underbody panel using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife. According to Figure 2, measure and mark 3-1/2 inches and 5-1/2 inches from reference points, then trim the panel accordingly. The panel is then reinstalled using the original five push pin rivets and one hex nut.
No. The hitch uses existing weldnuts in the frame. Clean debris from weldnuts with a wire brush or compressed air before installation.
All M10 CL10.9 fasteners must be tightened to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) using a torque wrench. This torque is critical to keep the hitch securely mounted to the vehicle during towing.
Tighten all M10 CL10.9 fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) with a torque wrench.
The fastener kit 24963F includes four M10 × 1.25 × 30 CL10.9 bolts and four conical washers (3/8 inch, part number 01292006). The conical washers must be installed with the teeth side against the hitch. These fasteners are installed into existing weldnuts on both sides of the vehicle frame.
1. Remove the driver's side underbody panel (five push pin rivets and two hex nuts). 2. Lower the muffler by removing rubber hangers on the passenger's side and forward center, supporting the exhaust with a ratchet strap or bungee cord. 3. Raise the hitch into position, raising the passenger's side bracket above the exhaust first, then the driver's side. Loosely install M10 bolts and conical toothed washers. 4. Tighten all M10 CL10.9 fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M). 5. Trim the driver's side underbody panel using measurements of 3-1/2 inches and 5-1/2 inches. 6. Reinstall the underbody panel using the original five push pin rivets and one hex nut. 7. Raise the muffler back into position and reattach all rubber hangers.
You should loosely install the M10 bolts and conical toothed washers in step 3. Only after the hitch is positioned correctly should you tighten all M10 CL10.9 fasteners to 42 Lb.-Ft. (57 N·M) in step 4 using a torque wrench.
Raise the passenger's side hitch bracket above the exhaust first, then raise the driver's side into position. This sequence prevents interference with the muffler during installation.
No. The drawbar is not included. An authorized drawbar kit (part number 3593) is sold separately. If you purchase the drawbar, it must be used in the RISE position only.
Always wear safety glasses during installation. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle. Support the exhaust with a ratchet strap or bungee cord before removing rubber hangers to prevent it from falling. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
Wear safety glasses at all times during installation. Observe safety precautions when working beneath the vehicle.
Load the trailer heavier in front. Do not exceed the lower of your vehicle manufacturer's towing rating or the hitch rating (2000 lb gross trailer weight, 200 lb tongue weight). Always wear your seatbelt. Slow down when towing and never exceed posted speed limits. If excess sway occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply brakes and do not speed up.
After installation, check that all fasteners are tight and the hitch is securely mounted to the vehicle. The manual recommends checking the hitch frequently during use to ensure all fasteners and the ball remain properly tightened. Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
The manual recommends checking the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Regular inspection is important to ensure the hitch remains securely mounted during towing.
If the hitch is removed, you must plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not continue using a damaged hitch.
It may be necessary to clean debris from the existing weldnuts in the frame using a wire brush or compressed air before installing the bolts. This will allow the M10 bolts to seat properly.
Spray a lubricant or soapy water on the rubber hangers. This makes them slide off the metal pins more easily. Allow the lubricant to soak for a moment before attempting to remove the hangers.
