DRAW-TITE Class 1 custom trailer hitches come complete with all the mounting hardware needed for installation and are backed by a nationwide lifetime limited warranty. So, whether you are headed out to the campground and need a place for the cooler, taking the bikes to hit the trails in the park, or you are tackling a DIY project (maybe some landscaping or a home repair), choose DRAW-TITE and travel with confidence knowing your setup is connected with the security only DRAW-TITE can provide. DRAW-TITE: North America?s Favorite Hitch.

Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

Yes. Fascia trim is required. The driver's side fascia must be trimmed near the exhaust as needed, and you must obtain the vehicle owner's approval before cutting.
Yes. You must remove the two bolts from the exhaust hanger bracket (shown in Figure 1) to lower the exhaust. The hitch bracket is then sandwiched between the frame and the exhaust hanger bracket. Return the exhaust bolts to the vehicle owner after installation.
Yes. You must drill two 1/2" holes in the passenger side frame rail. The hitch is used as a template to mark the hole locations. An optional step allows you to lower the hitch to drill two additional 1/2" holes into the frame rails if needed.
No. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Use a drill with a 1/2" bit to create the required holes.
1. Remove the plastic fascia covering the passenger side frame rail by removing five Torx screws, and remove the two plastic fascia nuts from the fascia tabs. 2. Remove the two bolts from the exhaust hanger bracket to lower the exhaust. 3. Slide the driver's side bracket above the exhaust bracket, sandwiching the hitch bracket between frame and exhaust hanger bracket, and loosely tighten the two M8 bolts. 4. Align the passenger bracket with the locating edge and tab, mark the 1/2" hole locations using the hitch as a template, and drill the holes. 5. Use a pull wire to thread the passenger side fasteners through the frame rail access slot, through the hitch side bracket (rearward attachment first), and install conical washers and hex nuts. 6. Trim the driver's side fascia near the exhaust as needed (obtain owner approval first). 7. Reattach fascia tabs and tighten all fasteners to specification.
The passenger side fasteners are installed using a pull wire (included in the kit). The wire is threaded through the access slot in the frame rail, through the side bracket of the hitch (rearward attachment first), and then conical washers and hex nuts are installed. This method allows fastening without removing the frame rail.
All M8 X 1.25 CL 9.8 fasteners must be tightened with a torque wrench to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 N·M).
All 7/16-14 Gr. 5 fasteners must be tightened with a torque wrench to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 N·M).
No. The two M8 bolts should be loosely tightened initially (Step 3) to allow for alignment of the passenger bracket. Only after the passenger bracket is aligned and the holes are drilled should all fasteners be tightened to their final torque specifications.
Yes. The manual notes that you should rotate the hitch for ease of installation, particularly when positioning the driver's side bracket above the exhaust bracket.
Do not discard the two plastic fascia nuts removed from the fascia tabs in Step 1. They are needed to reattach the fascia tabs in Step 7.
Return the two bolts removed from the exhaust hanger bracket to the vehicle owner. These are factory fasteners that belong to the vehicle.
Return the plastic fascia covering and the five Torx screws to the vehicle owner. These are factory components that belong to the vehicle.
Align the passenger bracket with the locating edge and tab (shown in Figure 2). Check that the hitch is aligned perpendicular to the vehicle and that the bracket is flat against the frame rail. The passenger side bracket may need to be pushed flat against the frame rail. Use the hitch as a template to mark the hole locations.
Check the hitch frequently to ensure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual emphasizes this as an ongoing maintenance requirement, not just a one-time check.
The drawbar must be used in the RISE position only. The drawbar kit (part number 3594) is sold separately.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair a damaged hitch or ball.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.

The manual states this T-Connector is designed for Volkswagen vehicles. However, the manual does not specify which Volkswagen models or model years are compatible. Contact the manufacturer or your retailer with your specific vehicle year, make and model to confirm fitment before purchasing.
You will need: trim panel remover, 10mm socket & ratchet or 10mm wrench, drill with 3/32" drill bit, 1/4" socket, wire crimpers, wire cutters, Phillips head screwdriver, and a test-probe. These tools are required to remove panels, disconnect wiring, drill the grounding hole, crimp connections, and verify the installation.
Yes. Step 7 requires you to disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable before making any electrical connections to the positive battery terminal. This is a critical safety step that must be completed before proceeding with the battery-side wiring.
Yes. Step 4 requires drilling a 3/32" hole on the driver's side near the taillight connectors to secure the white ground wire with an eyelet and screw. Before drilling, you must verify what is behind the surface to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces.
Beginning from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12 ga. wire rearward along the frame rail. Avoid hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank, and any other points that may pinch or break the wire. If routing through a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, continue to avoid hot pipes, heat shields, and the fuel tank.
The T-Connector has four wires: yellow (connects to vehicle taillight connector on driver's side), green (routes to passenger's side taillight housing), white (ground wire, secured with eyelet to a grounding point on driver's side), and black 12 ga. (routes from front of vehicle along frame rail to battery positive terminal via yellow fuse holder and yellow butt connector).
Step 2: On the driver's side, separate the vehicle's wiring connectors carefully without breaking the locking tabs. Insert the T-Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place. Ensure all connector surfaces are clean and free of dirt. Step 3: Route the T-Connector with the green wire below the threshold cover to the passenger's side taillight housing and repeat the connection process.
Step 7: Disconnect the vehicle's negative (-) battery cable first. Remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided). Cut the fuse holder wire and attach the ring terminal to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire using the yellow butt connector (provided). All connections must be complete for the T-Connector to function properly.
Locate a flat surface in an out-of-the-way place and mount the T-Connector's black box-module to prevent damage or rattling. The module should be secured in a location that does not interfere with vehicle operation or access.
Step 8: Secure the remainder of the T-Connector harness with the cable ties provided to prevent damage or rattling. Be careful to avoid any areas that would pinch, cut or melt the wire. Step 9: Reinstall all plastic trim panels, threshold, storage covers, floor covering and other items removed during installation, being careful not to pinch or cut the wires.
Do not exceed the lower of your towing manufacturer's rating or: maximum 2 stop/turn lights per side (4.2 amps total) or maximum tail lights (7.5 amps). Overloading the circuit can cause fires. Consult your vehicle's owner's manual and the T-Connector instruction sheet for additional information.
Test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer once installed. For the initial test, reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. Use the test-probe (included in required tools) to verify proper operation of all connections.
Store the 4-flat connector in the rear cargo area when not in use. This protects the connector from damage and keeps it accessible for future use.
Open the trunk and remove the threshold panel. Partially remove the corner felt trunk liner on both sides to expose the vehicle's taillight wiring harness. You may also need to remove plastic trim panels, storage covers, and floor covering as necessary to route the wires, all of which must be reinstalled after installation.
Before drilling the 3/32" hole for the ground wire, verify what is behind any surface to avoid damage to the vehicle and personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces. Locate a suitable grounding point on the driver's side near the connectors. Once drilled, secure the white wire with the eyelet using the screw provided.
The T-Connector (118714-037) is designed for Volkswagen vehicles. Confirm your specific model year with the manufacturer or retailer before purchasing.
