So, whether you are headed out to the campground, the lake, or the bike trails, or you are tackling a project at home and need to haul the materials home, choose DRAW-TITE and travel with confidence knowing your setup is connected with the security only DRAW-TITE can provide. DRAW-TITE: North America?s Favorite Hitch

Draw-Tite has designed custom-fit trailer hitches since 1946 and is one of North America's most widely fitted hitch brands. Receiver hitches use solid all-welded construction and low-profile designs that follow modern vehicle contours, install with minimal bumper cutting or drilling, meet or exceed V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.
Draw-Tite has been leading custom-fit trailer hitch design and engineering since its founding in 1946, and it remains one of the most widely fitted hitch brands in North America. The company's stated approach is straightforward: every hitch is tested rigorously so that it performs well beyond published industry standards, a philosophy it markets as Tested Tough. It sits within the Horizon Global towing group alongside Reese, Fulton, Bulldog, Tekonsha, Bargman and Wesbar.
Custom fit is the defining characteristic. Rather than adapting a universal design, Draw-Tite engineers a trailer hitch for a specific make, model and model year, so it bolts to existing frame locations with minimal bumper cutting or drilling. Low-profile designs follow the rear contours and aerodynamic styling of modern vehicles, which matters more than it once did now that rear fascias are shaped and sensor-equipped. Construction is solid all-welded steel for maximum strength, and every hitch meets or exceeds V5 CSA and SAE J684 standards and is backed by a nationwide limited lifetime warranty.
The range spans receiver sizes and classes to suit different loads, from 1-1/4 inch receivers for bike racks, cargo carriers and light trailers up through 2 inch receivers for heavier towing. Front mount hitches add a receiver at the front of the vehicle for winch mounts, snow plows, spare carriers and precise trailer positioning.
The Hidden Hitch series takes concealment further by mounting behind the vehicle's rear fascia, so the vehicle keeps its factory appearance until a removable receiver is fitted. Each is custom designed per make and model for a no-drill installation that does not compromise ground clearance, rated for up to 3,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 350 pounds tongue weight. Matching plug-and-play wiring completes the towing system.

The 2014-2018 Subaru Forester Draw-tite Class 3 Trailer Hitch, 2 Inch Square Receiver Bundle w/ Plug-n-Play T-One Wiring Harness 75876 (Part #DTB75876-118467) Refer to the included instructions for installation details. Basic hand tools are typically all you need.
Yes, this hitch (part numbers 87654, 75876, 44705) is designed for the Subaru Forester. The wiring access location is SUV8.
You will need a metal file, and wrenches in 11/16" and 10mm sizes.
The manual does not specify whether battery disconnection is required. Contact the manufacturer or your installer for clarification.
No drilling is required. The hitch uses existing holes in the frame rails. However, the heat shield must be trimmed for bolt clearance (see Figure 2).
Tighten all 7/16-14 GR5 fasteners to 50 lb.-ft. (68 N·m).
Maximum towing capacity depends on hitch type: Weight Distributing hitch supports 4000 lb (1816 kg) gross trailer weight with 525 lb (238 kg) tongue weight; Weight Carrying Ball Mount supports 3500 lb (1589 kg) gross trailer weight with 525 lb (238 kg) tongue weight. Do not exceed the lower of the towing vehicle manufacturer's rating or the accessory rating.
The hitch includes: (6) carriage bolts 7/16-14 x 1.75 GR5, (6) hex nuts 7/16-14, (6) spacers with square holes for 7/16" carriage bolts, (6) conical washers 7/16", and (6) pull wires 7/16". The fastener kit is part number 75876F.
The installation procedure requires you to lower the exhaust by disconnecting rubber exhaust hangers from their brackets in Step 1, and then raise it back into position in Step 7 after the hitch is secured. The exhaust hangers are reconnected after installation, so there should be no permanent interference.
Fishwire is used to route the 7/16" carriage bolts through the access hole and down through the holes in both frame rails. According to Figure 3, the fishwire should be kinked to keep the spacer independent of the bolt during installation.
Remove all (4) heat shield screws from each frame rail in Step 2. After trimming the heat shield for bolt clearance, reinstall 3 of the 4 fasteners in Step 5, leaving out the rearmost fastener on the frame rail.
Remove all (4) plastic plugs from existing holes in each frame rail, but keep only the rear access hole plug for reinstallation after the bolts are in place. The other 3 plugs are not reinstalled.
The spacers must span both sides of the hole and must not overlap one another. Use the fishwire to route the bolts and spacers through the access hole and down through the holes in both frame rails, ensuring proper positioning before tightening.
The manual specifies that the heat shield must be trimmed for bolt clearance to fit in position (see Figure 2), but does not provide specific dimensions or trimming tolerances. Refer to Figure 2 in the manual for the trimming pattern, or contact the manufacturer for detailed trimming specifications.
1. Lower the exhaust by disconnecting rubber hangers. 2. Remove heat shield screws and plastic plugs from frame rails (keep rear access plug). 3. Use fishwire to route carriage bolts and spacers through access hole and frame rail holes. 4. Reinstall trimmed heat shield with 3 of 4 fasteners (omit rearmost). 5. Raise hitch into position and secure with conical washers and nuts. 6. Raise exhaust back into position and reinstall hangers.
The hitch is secured using (6) carriage bolts 7/16-14 x 1.75 GR5, (6) conical washers 7/16", and (6) hex nuts 7/16-14. These fasteners are tightened to 50 lb.-ft. (68 N·m).
If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in the trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes.
A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Do not attempt to repair or continue using a damaged hitch or ball.
Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. Use a metal file for any trimming required.
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. Verify that the hitch is secure and all bolts remain at the specified torque of 50 lb.-ft. (68 N·m).
Check the hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and the ball are properly tightened. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but regular inspection is recommended to ensure safe operation.
This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
