The Reverse Pull Wire Procedure (shown in Figure 5) is used to install carriage bolts through the frame rails. The procedure involves inserting the bolt and block into the frame, aligning the block on the access hole, and pulling the bolt through the block. This technique allows bolts to be installed without drilling.
The pull wire should remain attached until the conical washers are installed. In Step 5, you raise the hitch into position, feed the conical washers through the pull wire to hold the carriage bolts in place, then remove the pull wires and attach the hex nuts.
After hanging the U-bolt around the tow hook and through the holes on the chain plate, and installing the flat washer, lock washer, and 3/8" nuts, center the hitch before tightening all fasteners to the required torque specifications.
The conical toothed washers (item 5) are used to hold the carriage bolts in place. They are fed through the pull wire and positioned before the hex nuts are attached.

On the driver's side taillight housing, locate and disconnect the grey 2-pin connector. Insert the T-One® Connector end with the yellow wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place, ensuring locking tabs are fully seated. Then locate and disconnect the black 3-pin connector and insert the T-One® Connector end with the brown wire between the vehicle connectors and lock into place. Both connectors must be fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
On the passenger's side taillight housing, locate and disconnect the grey 2-pin connector. Insert the T-One® Connector end with the green wire between the vehicle wiring connectors and lock into place with locking tabs fully seated. Then locate and disconnect the black 3-pin connector and insert the T-One® Connector end with the red wire between the vehicle connectors and lock into place. Both connectors must be fully inserted with locking tabs in place.
Mount the T-One® Connector black box on the driver's side using the double-sided tape provided. The module must be mounted so that the epoxy side points toward the ground to prevent water buildup. Secure the remainder of the harness with cable ties provided, avoiding areas that would cut or pinch the wire.
You may locate an existing ground stud near the connector, or you must drill a 3/32" hole to secure the white ground wire using the eyelet and screw provided. Do not drill into the vehicle floor or bed. Before drilling, verify what is behind the surface to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces. Clean dirt and rustproofing from the area before securing the wire.
Locate the black 12 ga. power wire from the T-One® Connector box on the driver's side. Attach the black 12 ga. wire provided. Route the black wire along the exterior frame or follow existing wiring along the thresholds into the engine compartment up to the battery. Avoid areas that may pinch or break the wire. If routing through a grommet and along the exterior, carefully avoid hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tank, or other points that may pinch or break the wire.
After disconnecting the vehicle's negative battery cable, remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder if not already removed. Cut the fuse holder wire and attach the ring terminal to the vehicle's positive (+) battery cable. Connect the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga. wire using the yellow butt connector provided. The 15 amp fuse is installed in step 14 after all other connections are complete.
The T-One® Connector uses the following wire colors: yellow wire (driver's side grey 2-pin connector), brown wire (driver's side black 3-pin connector), green wire (passenger's side grey 2-pin connector), red wire (passenger's side black 3-pin connector), white wire (ground connection), and black 12 ga. wire (battery power connection).
The T-One® Connector uses a 15 amp fuse. The fuse is installed in the yellow fuse holder provided. The fuse is removed during installation (step 12) and reinstalled in step 14 after all connections are complete.
Route the 4-Flat harness underneath and to the center of the vehicle. Mount the 4-Flat end in an accessible location with a bracket or electrical box (not included). This connector is where the trailer lights will be plugged in.
Always wear safety glasses and use all safety precautions during installation. Before drilling, verify what is behind any surface to avoid damage to the vehicle or personal injury. Do not drill into exposed surfaces. When routing wires, avoid hot pipes, heat shields, fuel tank, and other points that may pinch or break the wire. Secure all wires with cable ties to prevent damage or rattling. Do not exceed the towing manufacturer rating or product amperage ratings, as overloading circuits can cause fires.
After installation is complete, test and verify the installation with a test light or trailer. For the initial test, reset the vehicle electrical system by temporarily removing the key from the ignition. All connections must be complete for the T-One® Connector to function properly. Use a test-probe to verify connections if needed.
After installation, verify that: the T-One® Connector black box is mounted with the epoxy side pointing toward the ground; all taillight connectors are fully inserted with locking tabs in place; the ground wire is securely fastened; the power wire is routed safely without pinching or cutting; all cable ties are secure; the 15 amp fuse is installed in the fuse holder; the vehicle's negative battery cable is reconnected; and the system functions properly with a test light or trailer.
