Jack up the rear of the vehicle or raise it on a hoist and support the frame with safety stands. Then lower the axle or raise the body until the coil springs are completely extended with the wheels hanging. This allows proper access to the coil springs for air spring insertion.
First, remove the plastic cap from the barbed stem and exhaust air from the air spring by rolling it toward the stem. Replace the cap to hold its flat shape. Fold the air spring into a "hot dog bun shape" and insert the flattened end into the top opening of the coil spring with the stem at the bottom. Push the spring down into the cylinder by hand or with a blunt instrument such as a tire spoon. When completely inserted, remove the cap and allow the air spring to assume its "as molded" shape.
After the air spring is fully inserted and has assumed its molded shape, push it to the top of the coil spring and insert the lower protector between the lower spring seat and the air spring. Then push the air spring down so the stem is centered in the protector's hole. The protector shields the air spring from damage and wear.
Install an air line clamp on each end of the air line. Push the air line over the barbed stem, completely covering all the barbs. Install the clamp over the barbed stem using needle nose pliers. Leave a little slack in the air line so it will not pull off the stem when the suspension is in full extension.
Route the air line over to the sway bar link and attach using a zip tie on both sides, leaving slack so the line will not pull off during full suspension extension. Then route the air line to the top of the crossmember, avoiding the exhaust on the passenger's (right) side. The air line can be zip-tied to existing holes and routed under the floor pan to the valve location, using existing holes in the bumper cover if available.
A single-path air line installation with a tee fitting is recommended for vehicles with even weight distribution. Use a dual-path installation (separate air lines for each air spring without a tee fitting) if weight in the vehicle varies from side to side and unequal pressures are needed to level the load.
