No. Kit 60863 fits all Jeep Cherokee FWD and 4X4 models except Trailhawk. Kit 60864 is designed specifically for Jeep Cherokee 4X4 Trailhawk models only. The Trailhawk kit uses a different cylinder length and includes spacers (part 09112) that are not needed for other models.
Each air spring cylinder provides up to 1,000 pounds (454 kg) of load-leveling support when installed into the vehicle's coil springs. Each cylinder is rated at a maximum of 35 PSI (2.4 BAR).
Required tools include: flat nose screwdriver or push pin removal tool, metric and standard socket set, metric and standard wrench set, ratchet, pliers, hoist or floor jack, two safety stands, safety glasses, tire spoon or blunt instrument, air compressor or compressed air source, and spray bottle with dish soap/water solution.
The kit includes: 2 air springs (part 46129 for kit 60863, part 46130 for kit 60864), 2 spacers for Trailhawk only (part 09112), 15 feet of air line (part 20937), 6 zip ties (part 10466), 6 air line clamps (part 10638), 2 M8 flat washers (part 18501), 2 star washers (part 18411), 2 valve caps (part 21230), 4 5/16" hex nuts (part 21233), 2 5/16" flat rubber washers (part 21234), 1 tee fitting (part 21236), and 2 Schrader valves (part 21455).
Jack up the rear of the vehicle or raise it on a hoist and support the frame with two safety stands. Lower the axle or raise the body of the vehicle until the springs are completely extended. Remove the push pin and nut/washer from the weld stud above and behind the coil spring that holds the inner fender liner in place; these will be reused later once the air line has been routed.
First, remove the black plastic cap from the barbed stem on the end of the air spring, exhaust the air by rolling it up towards the barbed stem, and replace the cap to hold its flat shape. Fold the air spring into a "hot dog bun shape." Insert the flattened end of the air spring into the bottom opening of the coil spring with the stem at the top. Push the air spring up into the coil spring by hand or with a blunt instrument such as a spoon-type tire iron. When completely in the coil, remove the cap and allow the air spring to assume its "as molded" shape, then push it to the bottom of the coil spring.
Cut the air line (part 20937) into two pieces. Using pliers, slide the air line clamps (part 10638) over one end of the air lines. Route the air lines through the hole in the upper spring seats, through the spacers (Trailhawk only), then over the barbed stem on top of the cylinders. Ensure the air lines completely cover the barbed stems and use pliers to slide the air line clamps over the barbed stems to secure them.
Starting with the passenger's (right) side, route the air line forward of the coil spring and under the unibody frame, then inboard above the sub frame and across the front side of the rear upper crossmember to the driver's (left) side just forward of the coil spring. Repeat for the driver's (left) side and install a tee fitting just inside and above the driver's (left) side sub frame. Route the remaining air line from the tee between the coil spring and the sub frame mount, then to the back of the vehicle. Zip tie the air line to the sub frame mount or wiring harness. Route the air line back behind the driver's (left) side inner fender liner and loop around the wiring harness.
A single-path air line installation is recommended for vehicles that typically have even weight distribution. Both air springs are connected to a single tee fitting and Schrader valve. If weight in the vehicle varies from side to side and unequal pressures are needed to level the load, use a dual-path installation. For dual-path, eliminate the tee fitting and route separate air lines for both air springs, allowing independent pressure control for each side.
Yes. You must drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole to mount the Schrader valve. The manual shows an example where a rivet holding the inner liner to the bumper cover was removed and the inflation valve was installed in that location, but you can drill a hole anywhere to mount the inflation valve. If you install the inflation valve on the inner fender, keep the valve cap on to prevent debris from being thrown off the rear tire.
Make clean, square cuts with a razor blade or hose cutter. Do not use scissors or wire cutters, as these will produce poor cuts that may not seal properly.
Drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole for the Schrader valve. Install the air line on the Schrader valve first. The rubber washer (part 21234) serves as an outside weather seal. Assemble in order: hex nut, Schrader valve, vehicle body or bumper, flat washer (part 18501), star washer (part 18411), rubber washer, nylon air line, and air line clamp (part 10638). Secure with hex nut (part 21233) and install valve cap (part 21230).
The maximum air pressure is 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). Do not exceed this pressure. The minimum recommended air pressure is 5 PSI (0.34 BAR). The actual air pressure needed is dependent on load and gross vehicle weight rating.
Maintain at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from the exhaust system to the air line to prevent the air line from melting.
Complete the following checks: (1) Clearance test—inflate air springs to 30 PSI and ensure at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables. (2) Leak test—inflate to 30 PSI and check all connections for leaks; all leaks must be eliminated before road testing. (3) Heat test—ensure at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from heat sources. (4) Fastener test—after 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque. (5) Road test—drive 10 miles (16 km) and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners and air leaks.
Check air pressure weekly. Always maintain normal ride height and never inflate beyond 35 PSI (2.4 BAR). If the system develops an air leak, use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core before deflating and removing the air spring. After 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque.
Do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. The air springs are rated at a maximum inflation pressure of 35 PSI (2.4 BAR), but the actual air pressure needed is dependent on load and gross vehicle weight rating.
Once the inflation valve has been installed, reinstall the inner fender back onto the sub-frame with the push pin and nut/washer that was removed from both sides. Then raise the axle or drop the body to remove the jack stands. Roll the chassis forward and back and follow the final check and inflation instructions.
Leave sufficient air line slack to prevent any strain on the fitting during axle motions.

Inflate the air springs to 30 PSI (2 BAR) and check for at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables. If clearance is insufficient, the air spring position may need adjustment or the interfering component may need repositioning. Do not operate the vehicle if rubbing is occurring.
