Lift the vehicle and support the frame with safety stands. Drop the axle down low enough to provide clearance for the air springs. This allows you to access the jounce bumpers and prepare the frame for bracket installation.

Yes, trimming is required. You must trim a small portion of the brake line bracket on the left side of the axle to make proper clearance for the lower bracket. Measure approximately 1.375 inches (35 mm) from the edge of the bracket and make the cut using a cutoff wheel, air reciprocating saw, or hacksaw. Use caution to ensure the brake line and wire harness have proper clearance to avoid damage from the saw or grinding wheel.
The air spring should be aligned so that it is as perpendicular to the upper and lower brackets as possible. This is achieved by pushing the air spring assembly front or back to achieve proper alignment before final torque.
Both the upper and lower air spring mounting hardware should be torqued to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm). This applies to the 3/8 inch hex head bolts (part number H), lock washers (part number I), and flat washers (part number J) used at both the upper and lower brackets.
Install the 1/4 inch air fitting (part number G) into the airport on top of the air spring (part number E). Tighten the fitting finger-tight plus 1 1/2 turns. Do not over-tighten.

If the system develops an air leak, use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core before deflating and removing the air spring. After 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque.
Do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or payload rating as indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. Although the air springs are rated at a maximum inflation pressure of 100 PSI (7 BAR), the air pressure actually needed is dependent on load and gross vehicle weight rating.
Torque the 3/8 inch clamp bar hardware (3/8 inch carriage bolts, flat washers, and nylon insert lock nuts) to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm). Torque the 5/16 inch self-tapping screws first, then evenly torque the clamp bar hardware.
The 3/8 inch self-tapping screw (part number Q) should be torqued to 30 lb.-ft. (41 Nm). This screw is used for installations equipped with a 5th wheel hitch side mount bracket.
The left-hand ABS harness bracket (part number L) is inserted into the 'cup' of the ABS wiring harness and secured to the lower bracket with a 3/8 inch hex cap screw (part number T), 3/8 inch flat washer (part number J), and 3/8 inch nylon insert lock nut (part number Z). The right-hand wiring harness connector is installed onto the right-hand wiring harness bracket (part number M) and secured to the ABS/Brake line axle junction bracket with a 1/4 inch hex cap screw (part number S), 1/4 inch flat washer (part number W), and 1/4 inch nylon insert lock nut (part number X). Tighten all hardware securely.
