The MN-1056 upgrade kit replaces the air line, air fittings and Schrader valves in compatible LoadLifter 5000 and LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate kits with braided stainless steel air lines and upgraded fittings. Kit 52301 also includes roll plates and air spring mounting hardware. The kit is designed to upgrade existing LoadLifter 5000 Series installations.
The kit is intended for compatible LoadLifter 5000 and LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate kits. You must consult the original installation guide that came with your LoadLifter 5000 Series kit to confirm compatibility and determine which mounting hardware configuration your vehicle requires. The new fittings and braided stainless steel air lines may require additional clearance between the top of the air spring and upper bracket. Air Lift recommends verifying that there is adequate clearance before installation to avoid installation difficulty. Yes. Kit 52301 includes extra hardware to accommodate many Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 kits. There will be hardware left over after installation. The parts in this kit do not replace the bracket-to-chassis mounting hardware.
The manual specifies that 2 wrenches are needed to tighten the air line hex nuts. The manual states that the easiest way to tighten the fittings is off the vehicle. No other specific tools are listed in the installation guide.
Yes, if you are upgrading the roll plates and air spring mounting hardware (kit 52301). The air spring assembly must be removed from the vehicle to install the upgraded roll plates and air spring hardware. If you are only upgrading the air lines and fittings (kit 52300), refer to the original installation guide for your specific vehicle to determine if removal is necessary.
Yes. Exhaust all air from the system before beginning installation, either using the Schrader valves or the on-board air compressor system if equipped. If the vehicle has a compressor system, remove the fuse to prevent the system from trying to inflate the air springs while you are working on the vehicle.
To disconnect PTC fittings: (1) push in on the air line, (2) push the collar, and (3) with the collar depressed, pull the air line out of the fitting. See Figure 2 in the installation guide for visual reference.
Install the upgraded air spring fitting on the air spring finger tight plus 1 3/4 turns. See Figure 4 in the installation guide.
Use zip ties to secure the air line to fixed points along the chassis every 6" to 8". Leave at least 2" of slack to allow for any movement that might pull on the air line. Coil and secure any excess air line in an area where it will not be susceptible to damage.
The preferred location for the Schrader valve is the back of the vehicle. The bumper, license plate holes or bumper recess are all acceptable locations.
No. The braided stainless steel air line cannot be trimmed. You must route the line as supplied and coil and secure any excess air line in an area where it will not be susceptible to damage.
Torque air spring mounting hardware to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
Tighten the air line hex nut finger tight, then use 2 wrenches to turn 1 additional flat (1/6 of one full turn). Do not overtighten. The easiest way to tighten the fittings is off the vehicle before final installation.
Keep the air line away from the fuel line, brake lines and electrical wires. This is a caution that applies to the entire air line installation.
If the vehicle has a compressor system, remove the fuse to prevent the system from trying to inflate the air springs while you are working on the vehicle. This prevents accidental inflation during service.
