Air Lift’s fully adjustable, industry-leading air springs are the perfect upgrade for your vehicle, eliminating any issues you might face when towing and hauling. Tow and haul stress-free with Air Lift’s LoadLifter 7500 XL Ultimate. Designed with an internal jounce bumper for select Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD, four-wheel drive, this air spring kit eliminates frequent issues you might face, like bottoming out, squat and trailer sway. Air Lift’s air springs are fully adjustable, and the jounce bumper allows you to tow and haul with lower pressures with 7500 lbs. of load-leveling capacity. The closed-cell urethane foam jounce bumper inside the air spring provides a cushion of air that absorbs shock, eliminates harsh jarring on rough roads, and protects vehicles carrying heavy loads. An Air Lift exclusive, the kit features upper and lower roll plates for added protection. All end caps are made with an ultra-high-strength nylon composite formula, strong as steel but much lighter and corrosion-proof. The air springs are built like tires, reinforced with 2-ply fabric for maximum strength. With the added stability that air springs provide, you can haul safely, knowing that you have optimal braking and steering control. The LoadLifter 7500 XL Ultimate has up to 20% more air spring volume when compared to Air Lift’s LoadLifter 5000 series. Yes. The jounce bumpers must be removed from the jounce bumper brackets on both sides by prying them out with a pry bar or large screwdriver. This is the first step after raising the frame and supporting it with safety stands.
Two bolts holding the brake/ABS line bracket onto the back side of the jounce bumper strike plate must be removed. Pull the bracket away from the jounce bumper strike plate to make room for the lower bracket. Then squeeze the two locking tabs on the large ABS wiring harness loom holder attached to the stock brake/ABS line bracket and pull it out, disconnecting it from the bracket. Leave the loom holder loose for now; it will be reattached later using ABS wiring relocation brackets (J & K) supplied in the kit.
1. Place roll plates (E) on the air springs (F) and install the 90-degree swivel elbow fitting (G) onto the air springs. Tighten the air fittings finger-tight plus 1 1/2 turns. 2. Install both upper brackets (C & D) onto the air spring assemblies using 3/8" flat head screws (H). Torque hardware to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm). 3. Set the lower brackets (B) next to each other with angled sections pointing toward each other. Use the first and third holes on each bracket to attach to the air springs. Set a roll plate (E) onto the air spring assembly and attach the lower bracket with two 3/8" flat head screws (H), torqued to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm). The angled side of the lower bracket must be on the fitting side of the air spring.
1. With suspension at full extension, set the driver's (left) and passenger's (right) side assemblies over the axle jounce bumper strike plates with the fitting pointing to the inside of the frame. Push the lower bracket down flush to the strike plate and align it by moving the air spring assembly in and out until the tab and hole on the brake line/ABS bracket align with the holes in the lower bracket. 2. Attach the ABS loom holder (previously removed) to the underside of each ABS loom bracket (J & K) supplied. The brackets will nest around the bottom of the lower bracket. 3. Insert a 3/8" carriage bolt (M) through the lower bracket and ABS loom holder. Install a 3/8" serrated flange lock nut (O) onto the carriage bolt with the flat portion facing up. Tighten enough to nest the ABS bracket around the lower bracket, but do not fully tighten yet. Repeat for both sides.
Torque clamp bar hardware evenly to 16 lb.-ft. (22 Nm). The clamp bar should be aligned so that it is somewhat centered between the shock bracket and leaf spring retainer.
1. For the driver side only, pull the tree holder holding the wiring harness onto the frame out of the frame. 2. Hold the L-bolt (I) parallel to the frame and insert the eye through the top of the frame from the inside out between the 5th wheel bracket and bed crossmember. 3. When the eye is completely through the frame, rotate the L-bolt forward and under the wiring harness inside the frame. 4. Insert the 3/8" hex cap screw (W) through a 3/8" flat washer (X), then all the way through the eye of the L-bolt. 5. Rotate the new "U-bolt" down and through the upper bracket holes, behind the axle. Install 3/8" serrated flange lock nuts (O) onto the U-bolt and leave loose. 6. Install the U-bolt (L) from the outside of the frame, over the jounce bumper mounting cup and through the upper bracket on the inside of the frame. Attach with 3/8" serrated flange nuts (O) and leave loose. Note: It may be necessary to tap the U-bolt into position because of the welds around the jounce bumper cup.
Yes. You must drill a 5/16" (8 mm) hole in your chosen location for each Schrader valve. Recommended locations are inside the fuel tank filler door, inside rear wheel wells, or the license plate/rear bumper area. The manual notes that for LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus kits, the rear bumper area or license plate is the recommended location.
For nylon air lines, it is recommended that the air line be routed along the top of the frame, forward of the axle, then down to the fitting. Keep at least 6" (150 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system. Avoid sharp bends and edges. The minimum bend radius for the air line is 1" (25 mm). Use zip ties to secure the air line to fixed points along the chassis without pinching or kinking it. Leave at least 2" (50 mm) of slack in the air line to allow for any movement that might pull on the air line. Install the air line thermal sleeve over the air line on the passenger's (right) side before inserting into the fitting.
Cut the air line in half using a razor blade or hose cutter, making clean, square cuts. Do not use scissors or wire cutters, as these will damage the air line.
Torque the 3/8" flat head socket cap screws (H) that attach the upper brackets (C & D) to the air spring assemblies to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
Torque the 3/8" flat head socket cap screws (H) that attach the lower bracket (B) to the air spring assemblies to no more than 20 lb.-ft. (27 Nm).
Once the hose is installed and the system is inflated to 10 PSI, torque both upper bracket U-bolts to 10 lb.-ft. (14 Nm), starting with the square U-bolt first.
The maximum air pressure is 100 PSI (7 BAR). Do not exceed this pressure. Although the air springs are rated at a maximum inflation pressure of 100 PSI (7 BAR), the air pressure actually needed is dependent on load and gross vehicle weight rating. Always maintain normal ride height and never inflate beyond 100 PSI.
The minimum recommended pressure is 5 PSI (.34 BAR).
After inflating the air springs to 40–60 PSI (2.8–4.1 BAR), ensure there is at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from anything that might rub against each air spring. Be sure to check the tire, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables. Additionally, maintain at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from heat sources. If a heat shield was included in the kit, install it. If there is no heat shield but one is required, call Air Lift customer service at (800) 248-0892.
Maintain a 1/2" (13 mm) dead air space between the exhaust pipe and heat shield. Bend tabs to provide this dead air space and attach the heat shield to the exhaust pipe using the clamps. Bend the heat shield for maximum clearance to the air spring.
The minimum bend radius for the air line is 1" (25 mm). Avoid sharp bends and edges, and do not pinch or kink the air line.
Keep at least 6" (150 mm) of clearance between all air lines and the exhaust system.
Perform the following checks in order: 1. Clearance test — Inflate the air springs to 40–60 PSI (2.8–4.1 BAR) and ensure at least 1/2" (13 mm) clearance from tires, brakes, frame, shock absorbers and brake cables. 2. Leak test — Inflate to 40–60 PSI and check all connections for leaks; all leaks must be eliminated before road testing. 3. Heat test — Ensure at least 6" (152 mm) clearance from heat sources; install heat shield if included. 4. Fastener test — After 500 miles (800 km), recheck all bolts for proper torque. 5. Road test — Inflate to recommended driving pressures, drive 10 miles (16 km), and recheck for clearance, loose fasteners and air leaks.
Check air pressure weekly.
If the system develops an air leak, use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core before deflating and removing the air spring.

If the wire loom does not align correctly, unclip the line holder, adjust the position, then re-clip the line holder back onto the loom.
It may be necessary to tap the U-bolt into position because of the welds around the jounce bumper cup. Use a mallet or hammer to gently tap it into place.
Use a soapy water solution to check all air line connections and the inflation valve core. Spray the solution on all connections and look for bubbles, which indicate a leak. Once you identify the leak, tighten the connection or replace the component as needed. Do not deflate and remove the air spring until the leak is located.
