The kit includes one driver-side (left) tube door, one passenger-side (right) tube door, 2 flange nuts (M6), 6 flat head cap screws (M6 x 30mm), 6 flat washers (M6), and 6 hex lock nuts (M6). The factory mirrors are reused and reinstalled on the tube doors.
Required tools are: ratchet, extension, T27 Torx drive, wrench (10mm), T50 Torx drive, Allen wrench (4mm), torque wrench, and socket (13mm).
Yes. You must remove the three Torx head bolts securing each factory side mirror to the vehicle before removing the factory doors. The mirrors are then reinstalled on the tube doors using the provided M6 screws, flat washers, and lock nuts.
The door strap is a restraint located on the inside of the vehicle that holds the factory door in place. You must remove it from its hook before lifting off the factory door. Once released, the door can swing open into the vehicle, potentially causing damage, so handle carefully.
1. Remove the three Torx head bolts securing the side mirror. 2. Remove the door strap from the hook on the inside of the vehicle. 3. Remove the nuts from the bottom of the factory hinge pins. 4. Lift the door off and set aside carefully.
Position the hinge pins of the tube door directly above the vehicle hinges. Lower the hinge pins into the door hinges until fully seated. Install the provided M6 flange nuts to secure them.
The rotary latch is the door-closing mechanism on the tube door. With the latch in the open position, line it up with the factory door strike and gently close the door. It may be necessary to loosen the factory door strike for proper alignment. Once aligned, tighten the door strike screws and test the door by opening and closing it to ensure it is secure and functioning properly.
It may be necessary to loosen the factory door strike for proper alignment of the rotary latch with the strike. Once proper alignment is achieved, tighten the door strike screws. If you later reinstall the factory doors, be sure to return the door strike to its original position.
Locate and remove the three plugs in the mirror mounting holes in the tube door. Align the factory mirror with the mounting holes and secure it using the provided M6 flat head cap screw, flat washer, and hex lock nut.
Attach the door strap to the hook located on the inside of the vehicle. This secures the tube door in the closed position.
The M6 flange nuts securing the hinge pins should be torqued to 75 in.-lbs.
The M6 hex lock nuts securing the factory mirrors should be torqued to 90 in.-lbs.
Wax the product after installing to protect it. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. For polished, gloss and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes or similar products that may damage the finish. Avoid polishes or waxes containing abrasives.
After installation, open and close the door to ensure it is secure and functioning properly. Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all hardware remains tight.
