The kit includes 1 driver side front door, 1 passenger side front door, 4 lock nuts (8mm), 4 flat washers (8mm), 2 rubber bushings, 4 cylinder tubes (3" x 1"), 4 flat washers (1 3/4" outer diameter x 1/2"), and 2 Phillips head sheet metal screws.
Non-powered mirrors can be removed from the factory doors and reused on the ARIES tubular doors. If your vehicle has powered mirrors, ARIES recommends purchasing aftermarket mirrors to attach to the tubular doors instead.
You will need a ratchet, T40 torx bit, T50 torx bit, 13mm socket, extension, and Phillips screwdriver.
Yes. Before removing the factory doors, you must disconnect the dome light wire harness by moving the red clip back to disconnect the light wire from the harness. This is located inside near the lower kick panel.
Beginning on the front passenger side, use a T50 torx bit to remove the factory torque bolts securing the doors onto the hinges. After disconnecting the dome light wire harness and removing the swing out safety strap, lift the door off and carefully set aside.
Slide the door pins into the factory hinges. Secure the door with an 8mm flat washer and lock nut. Snug the hardware but do not tighten at this stage. After checking alignment of the locking door latch with the striker plate, tighten the hardware on the hinges.
The rubber bushing is attached to the inside of the door before closing it. It is secured using the supplied Phillips head sheet metal screws.
Check the alignment of the locking door latch with the striker plate inside the door jam. If adjustment is needed, use a T40 torx bit to loosen the bolts on the striker plate. Align the striker plate with the door latch, then tighten the torque bolts once alignment is correct.
Slide the mirror mounting tubes through the mounting locations on the tube doors. Next, slide the 3" cylinder tubes over the mounting tubes on the mirror, and secure with a 1 3/4" outer diameter flat washer and factory bolts. Tighten with a T40 torx bit.
Yes. After installing the new ARIES tubular door and before closing the door, reattach the safety strap.
To protect the product, apply a layer of nonabrasive wax after installing. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish.
Perform periodic inspection to make sure that all the hardware is secure and tight. Check that the door closes completely and that the locking door latch aligns properly with the striker plate.
