The ARIES 3" bull bar is made for those who face the uncertain road without fear. This particular model is constructed from 304 stainless steel. 304 stainless is high in nickel content, allowing the bull bar to easily resist water, road salt and rust and maintain its mirror-like polished finish in spite of the elements. Other available finishes include high-gloss black stainless steel, textured black steel and semi-gloss black steel. Customizing the look of your vehicle is simple with the ARIES 3" bull bar. It is equipped with pre-drilled light mounting holes and a removable skid plate. The center crossbar features two pre-drilled holes that readily accept an LED light bar or two LED work lights. The skid plate is made from 304 stainless steel and has a brushed finish to stop rust and hide scratches and scuffs. It also features an aggressive, ARIES-exclusive cutout pattern and can be removed for a customized look. Each ARIES 3" bull bar is made a vehicle-specific design, meaning that for each make and model, the bull bar has a custom bend and unique mounting brackets. This allows for the best possible fit on your vehicle and ensures solid attachment. The brackets also use pre-existing factory holes in the vehicle's frame to eliminate drilling, speed up installation and increase rigidity. This bull bar fits select model years of the Toyota Tacoma (see application info to verify fitment).

No. The bull bar is not compatible with the optional full coverage factory aluminum skid plate. If your vehicle has this skid plate, it must be removed before installation. The skid plate cannot be reinstalled after removal, and cutting is required as part of the bull bar installation.
It may be necessary to temporarily remove the factory tow hook from the passenger side during installation, but it is not always required. Check during step 2 when you remove the outer factory hex nuts attaching the bumper mount. If the tow hook interferes, remove it temporarily and reinstall it after the bull bar is secured (step 9).
It may be necessary to remove or relocate the front license plate and bracket, but it is not required. However, removal or relocation is strongly recommended. If your local or state law requires a front license plate, Curt offers a license plate relocation kit as an optional accessory.
Yes, cutting is required. You must cut the plastic lower air dam from the front bumper cover to clear the frame mounting brackets. Use a sharp knife or hacksaw blade to carefully cut two slots in the air dam. Do not cut through the top or bottom edge of the air dam, and do not cut off the mounting tabs from the top. You may also need to trim plastic splashguards attached to the bottom corners of the bumper as necessary to clear the brackets.
Hold the plastic air dam up in position against the mounting brackets and trace the location of the two brackets onto the back of the air dam. Use a sharp knife or hacksaw blade to carefully cut two slots to clear the brackets. Start with a small opening and slowly enlarge the slots until the brackets clear the air dam. Check all measurements before cutting. Do not cut through the top or bottom edge of the air dam, and do not cut off the mounting tabs from the top.
The kit includes: 1 bull bar, 2 bull bar mounting brackets, 1 driver/left frame mounting bracket, 1 passenger/right frame mounting bracket, 4 large spacer washers, 4 10mm x 34mm large flat washers, 8 10mm x 30mm standard flat washers, 6 10mm nylon lock nuts, 4 8-1.25mm x 35mm hex bolts, 4 8mm x 24mm OD x 2mm flat washers, 4 8mm lock washers, 2 10-1.50mm x 120mm x 30mm hex bolts, and 4 10-1.50mm x 30mm hex bolts.
Yes. Assistance is required during step 8 when you line up and bolt the bull bar to the frame mounting brackets. The manual specifically states "With assistance, line up the mounting tabs on the Bull Bar with the outside of the (2) previously installed Frame Mounting Brackets."
1. Remove the plastic lower air dam from the front bumper cover. 2. Remove the two outer factory hex nuts on the passenger side frame. 3. Install the passenger side frame mounting bracket using factory hex nuts (leave loose). 4. Install the long 10mm x 120mm hex bolt through the frame cross member with spacer washers and lock nut (leave loose). 5. Repeat steps 2–4 for the driver side. 6. Cut slots in the air dam to clear the brackets and reinstall it (leave loose). 7. Attach the two bull bar mounting brackets to the ends of the bull bar with 8mm bolts and washers (snug but do not tighten). 8. With assistance, bolt the bull bar to the frame mounting brackets using 10mm x 30mm hex bolts, flat washers, and lock nuts (snug but do not tighten). 9. Level and adjust the bull bar, then tighten all hardware. Reinstall the tow hook if removed.
No. The manual specifies that hardware should be left loose during the initial installation steps. Only after the bull bar is leveled and properly adjusted in step 9 should you tighten all hardware, including factory hardware attaching the air dam to the vehicle.
Reuse the two outer factory hex nuts that attach the bumper mount to the end of the frame on each side. These factory nuts are used to secure the frame mounting brackets in step 3 (passenger side) and step 5 (driver side).
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight. Wax the bull bar after installation to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer. For stainless steel finishes, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, and mild soap may be used to clean. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap to clean. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish.
