The ARIES 3" bull bar is made for those who face the uncertain road without fear. This particular model is constructed from 304 stainless steel. 304 stainless is high in nickel content, allowing the bull bar to easily resist water, road salt and rust and maintain its mirror-like polished finish in spite of the elements. Other available finishes include high-gloss black stainless steel, textured black steel and semi-gloss black steel. Customizing the look of your vehicle is simple with the ARIES 3" bull bar. It is equipped with pre-drilled light mounting holes and a removable skid plate. The center crossbar features two pre-drilled holes that readily accept an LED light bar or two LED work lights. The skid plate is made from 304 stainless steel and has a brushed finish to stop rust and hide scratches and scuffs. It also features an aggressive, ARIES-exclusive cutout pattern and can be removed for a customized look. Each ARIES 3" bull bar is made a vehicle-specific design, meaning that for each make and model, the bull bar has a custom bend and unique mounting brackets. This allows for the best possible fit on your vehicle and ensu res solid attachment. The brackets also use pre-existing factory holes in the vehicle's frame to eliminate drilling, speed up installation and increase rigidity. This bull bar fits select model years of the Ram 1500 (see application info to verify fitment).

Yes, cutting is required. You must cut an approximately 1-1/2" wide slot out of the bottom of the plastic lower air dam to clear the mounting brackets. The exact slot size may vary depending on your vehicle's factory air dam and bumper cover design. Make several small cuts first and check fit often. Do not cut the slot larger than necessary to clear the brackets only, and do not cut through the top edge or mounting points of the air dam.
No, the manual does not require full bumper removal. You must carefully remove only the plastic lower air dam attached to the bottom of the bumper. Do not remove the electronic active air dam if your vehicle is equipped with one. You will loosen two factory hex bolts attaching the bumper to the bumper bracket, but these are not removed.
1. Remove the plastic lower air dam from under the bumper. 2. Install the driver/left frame bracket and support bracket to the vehicle frame. 3. Install the passenger/right frame bracket and support bracket (repeat of steps 2). 4. Position the bull bar against the mounting brackets and attach with M12 bolts but do not tighten. 5. Check that the bull bar is centered and level. 6. Tighten all hardware securing the brackets to the vehicle (but not the M12 bolts on the bull bar yet). 7. Remove the bull bar temporarily. 8. Mark and cut the air dam to clear the brackets. 9. Reinstall the air dam. 10. Reinstall the bull bar and fully tighten all hardware.
First, insert an M8 bolt plate into the space between the outer bumper cover and bumper bracket, then thread the bolt plate back through the hole in the bumper bracket. Thread an M8 plastic retainer onto the bolt plate to hold it in place (this is optional but recommended). Remove the two factory hex bolts attaching the bumper to the bumper bracket. Attach the frame bracket to the back of the bumper using two M8 x 35mm hex bolts, two M8 lock washers, and two M8 flat washers. Attach the frame bracket to the bolt plate using one M8 flat washer, one M8 lock washer, and one M8 hex nut. Do not fully tighten at this time.
Loosen (but do not remove) the hex bolt from the bottom of the frame. Slide the slotted end of the support bracket under this bolt. If your vehicle has tow hooks, slide the bracket between the head of the bolt and the large flat washer. If your vehicle does not have tow hooks, slide the bracket between the steel sleeve on the frame and the head of the bolt. Do not tighten the hex bolt at this time. Then attach the support bracket to the frame bracket using one M8 x 30mm hex bolt, two M8 flat washers, one M8 lock washer, and one M8 hex nut.
With assistance, position the bull bar against the outside of the mounting brackets. Attach it using four M12 x 35mm hex bolts, eight M12 flat washers, four M12 lock washers, and four M12 hex nuts. Do not tighten the hardware at this time. After checking that the bull bar is centered and level, fully tighten all hardware securing the mounting brackets and support brackets to the vehicle first. Do not tighten the M12 hardware attaching the bull bar to the mounting brackets until after the air dam has been reinstalled and final leveling is complete.
M8 bolts should be torqued to 7 ft-lbs.
M12 bolts should be torqued to 28 ft-lbs.
Wax the product after installation and regularly thereafter to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs. Clean the product with mild automotive detergent only. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products that may damage the finish.
After installation, stand back from the vehicle and verify that the bull bar is centered and level. Perform periodic inspections to ensure that all hardware remains secure and tight.
