ARIES 3" side bars add a custom look and dependable footing to your truck, Jeep or SUV. They feature a classic style, a strong design and non-skid step pads. ARIES nerf bars are all made vehicle-specific for a custom, no-drill fit, and they are available in multiple finish options. This set of nerf bars is constructed from 304 stainless steel with a polished finish. Our 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. The polish is a triple application, resulting in a mirror-like shine to complement your vehicle. ARIES 3" round side bars also come with high-strength steel brackets and non-skid step pads. The mounting brackets -- as well as the side bars and step pads -- are custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the nerf bars to contour to the lines of your vehicle. This ensures easy, no-drill installation and the strength necessary to provide solid footing. This particular set of custom nerf bars fits specific years of the Chevy Blazer K5 and GMC Blazer K5 (see application info to verify fitment). ARIES 3" round side bars also come with non-skid step pads made of polypropylene. These wide, custom-positioned step pads feature a textured pattern and cover a wide portion of the tubes to be more comfortable and high-traction, even in wet conditions.

However, the manual does not specify the drilling location, hole size, or depth. Contact Curt Manufacturing or your installer for detailed drilling specifications.
Yes, frame drilling is permanent. Once holes are drilled into the frame to attach the rear support bracket, they cannot be easily reversed. Ensure you are committed to this installation before proceeding.
1. Remove and verify all parts. 2. Start with the driver side front. 3. Loosen and remove factory body mount bolts from underneath, then reattach the front mounting bracket using the factory bolts (leave loose). Attach the front support bracket using two 10mm x 30mm hex head bolts with washers and nuts (leave loose). 4. Attach the rear mounting bracket using factory bolts (leave loose). Attach the rear support bracket using one 12mm x 50mm bolt with washers and one 10mm x 30mm bolt with nut and washers (leave loose). 5. Yes. The manual instructs you to loosen and remove the factory body mount bolts, then reattach them through the front and rear mounting brackets. The factory bolts are reused to secure both the original body mounts and the new side bar brackets.
After the side bar is positioned on the mounting brackets and snugly attached, you must level it (ensure it is horizontal and properly aligned with the vehicle) and adjust its position as needed. The manual does not provide specific leveling instructions or tools. Once the bar is level and properly positioned, tighten all hardware. Consult your installer or Curt Manufacturing for detailed leveling procedures.
No. The manual explicitly states: 'Do not remove bushings.' Leave the factory bushings in place when loosening and removing the body mount bolts, then reattach the bolts through the new mounting brackets.
The manual recommends periodic inspections to ensure all hardware is secure and tight. Perform these checks regularly after installation. The manual does not specify an inspection interval or detailed checklist. Inspect all bolts, washers, and nuts on both the front and rear mounting brackets, support brackets, and side bar attachment points.
Wax the side bars after installation to protect the finish. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives, as these can damage the finish. For stainless steel bars, aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs, or mild soap for cleaning. For gloss black finishes, use only mild soap for cleaning.
The manual warns not to remove bushings from the factory body mounts during installation. It also warns not to use abrasive polish or wax on the finish. The manual does not address other safety concerns such as working underneath the vehicle, using power tools for drilling, or lifting equipment. Follow standard vehicle safety practices and consult a professional if you are unfamiliar with working underneath a vehicle.
