The ARIES 3" bull bar is made for those who face the uncertain road without fear. This particular model is constructed from strong carbon steel and finished in a durable E-coat and semi-gloss black powder coat finish to outlast rust and the elements. Other available finishes include high-gloss black stainless steel, polished stainless steel and textured black steel. Customizing the look of your vehicle is simple with the ARIES 3" bull bar. It is equipped with pre-drilled light mounting holes and a removable skid plate. The center crossbar features two pre-drilled holes that readily accept an LED light bar or two LED work lights. The skid plate is made from 304 stainless steel and has a brushed finish to stop rust and hide scratches and scuffs. It also features an aggressive, ARIES-exclusive cutout pattern and can be removed for a customized look. Each ARIES 3" bull bar is made a vehicle-specific design, meaning that for each make and model, the bull bar has a custom bend and unique mounting brackets. This allows for the best possible fit on your vehicle and ensures solid attachment. The brackets also use pre-existing factory holes in the vehicle's frame to eliminate drilling, speed up installation and increase rigidity. This bull bar fits select model years of the Freightliner or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 and 3500 (see application info to verify fitment).

Yes. You must remove the factory license plate bracket and the two M8 bolts below it, plus two M8 torx bolts in the cutout above the license plate bracket.
The manual does not explicitly state whether drilling is required. However, the license plate bracket must be modified by cutting two 2.5" notches from the top edge, beginning 2" from each side.
Mounting brackets are torqued to 19 ft-lbs. The bull bar itself is torqued to 25 ft-lbs. Use a torque wrench to achieve these specifications.
Perform periodic inspections to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. Wax the product after installation and regularly thereafter using non-abrasive wax. Do not use abrasive cleaners, polishes with abrasives, or wire brushes.
The package includes one 3" bull bar, driver-side and passenger-side mounting brackets, two M8 x 30mm hex head cap screws, two M8 x 40mm hex head cap screws, four M8 lock washers, four M8 flat washers, four M10 flat washers, four M10 flange nuts, and four M10 x 40mm hex head cap screws.
The installation is rated as Easy.
Install the driver-side bracket first by inserting one M8 x 40mm hex head cap screw with lock washer and flat washer in both top holes. Insert one M8 x 30mm hex head cap screw with lock washer and flat washer in both forward-facing holes. With all fasteners in place, torque to 19 ft-lbs. Repeat the same process for the passenger-side bracket.
Install the bull bar using the provided M10 hex head cap screws, flat washers, and flange nuts. Place the bolt and washer on the outside while the flange nut fastens from the inside. Once all fasteners are in place, position the bull bar and torque all fasteners to 25 ft-lbs.
Cut two notches out of the top edge of the plastic license plate bracket. Beginning 2" from each side, cut a 2.5" notch. These notches allow the license plate bracket to lay flat in the factory position after the bull bar is installed.
Use mild automotive detergent to clean the product. Do not use dish detergent, abrasive cleaners, abrasive pads, wire brushes, or similar products that may damage the finish. For polished, gloss, and other smooth finishes, non-abrasive polish may be used to clear small scratches and scuffs.
Wax the product after installation and regularly thereafter. Use only wax that does not contain abrasives. Do not use any type of polish or wax that may contain abrasives, as these could damage the finish.
Standard torque for M8 bolts is 7 ft-lbs. Standard torque for M10 bolts is 16 ft-lbs. However, the mounting brackets are torqued to 19 ft-lbs and the bull bar is torqued to 25 ft-lbs, which override the standard specifications for this product.
Periodic inspections should be performed to ensure all mounting hardware remains tight. The manual does not specify an exact interval, but regular checks are recommended to maintain safety and prevent loosening.
