The BXH3008 includes: one 2" receiver hitch (61-8765), six 1/4" x 1" x 3" plates with square holes (101-10556), six 1/2"-13 x 1-1/2" carriage bolts Grade 8 YZP (201-1176), six 1/2"-13 hex nuts Grade 8 YZP (202-0268), six 1/2" conical washers YZP (203-0218), six 1/2" x 48" bolt leaders (229-0955), and four 8" nylon cable ties (290-0275).

No. The installation requires the exhaust to be lowered and removed. In step 1, two bolts are removed from the exhaust bracket on both sides using a 13MM socket with 5" extension. In step 2, the exhaust clamp nut is loosened with a 15MM socket, and the exhaust is pushed toward the front and removed. The exhaust is reinstalled in step 10.
Blue Ox recommends that towing products be installed by Blue Ox Dealers who are familiar with the products and have the equipment and knowledge necessary for fit work. Installation must be performed by someone aware of the risks and hazards involved with adding components to the vehicle chassis.
Yes. The exhaust must be fully supported using jack(s) or stand(s) during removal and reinstallation. The exhaust continues to be supported by a jack or stand until the exhaust brackets are reinstalled in step 12.
The installation sequence is: (1) support and remove exhaust, (2) remove frame bolts on Trailhawk models, (3) unfasten wire loom clips if present, (4-7) install lead wires and spacer plates through frame holes on both sides, (8) clean excess caulk, (9) trim lead wires and raise hitch into place, (10) reinstall exhaust, (11) install conical washers and hex nuts on all bolts, (12) reinstall exhaust brackets and tighten all bolts to 119 ft/lbs.
In step 9, trim the lead wires down to roughly 10" before raising the receiver hitch into place.
The teeth of the conical washers must be towards the hitch. This applies when installing washers in steps 9 and 11. Be careful not to push bolts into the frame when installing washers and nuts.
All bolts must be tightened to 119 ft/lbs. This applies to the 1/2"-13 carriage bolts used to attach the hitch. The manual provides a torque chart for other bolt sizes (Grade 5, Grade 8, metric Grade 8.8, and Grade 10.9) for reference.
The BXH3008 uses Grade 8 bolts. The carriage bolts (201-1176) and hex nuts (202-0268) are Grade 8 with yellow zinc plating (YZP). If a bolt is lost or needs replacement, use a replacement bolt of the same grade (Grade 8) for safety and proper hitch function.

Verify that all electrical connections are plugged in and accessories are functioning properly. Ensure the gross weight of your trailer does not exceed the hitch weight rating or your vehicle's towing capacity, whichever is less.
