Yes, the BXH8002 is designed for 2020-2025 Hyundai Palisade vehicles. However, if the rear of your vehicle looks different than shown in the manual, contact Blue Ox at (402) 385-3051 before proceeding with installation.
The BXH8002 has a maximum gross trailer weight (GTW) of 6000 lb (2722 kg) and maximum tongue weight (TW) of 900 lb (408 kg). However, you must verify your vehicle's tow rating in the owner's manual and use whichever is less. Do not exceed your vehicle's towing capacity.
Required tools include: torque wrench, exhaust hanger removal pliers or 5/8" open end wrench, 10" socket extension, wire brush, 14MM socket, 17MM socket, 3/4" socket, and 3/4" wrench. A jack or stand is also needed to support the exhaust during removal.
The hardware kit (part 63-5081) includes: four 10MM-1.25 x 30MM hex head bolts Grade 8.8 (201-0422), four 1/2"-13 x 4-3/4" hex head bolts Grade 8 (201-1173), two 1/4"-20 x 1/2" hex head tread forming screws (201-1189), four 1/2"-13 hex nuts (202-0005), four 1/2" conical washers (203-0218), and four 7/16" conical washers (203-0221).
Yes. Open the lift gate, pull up on the tab to the bottom compartment, lift the handle to the secondary compartment, and unscrew the cap to access the nut holding the spare tire. Using the wrench provided with the roadside assistance tools, let down the spare tire to allow clearance for receiver hitch installation. After installation, push the tire slightly towards the front of the vehicle when raising it back into the stored position to allow for receiver hitch clearance.
Yes. Support the exhaust using a jack or stand, then remove the four rubber isolators from the exhaust rods on the passenger side of the vehicle. Lower the exhaust to allow for receiver hitch installation. This can be done using exhaust hanger removal pliers or a 5/8" open end wrench. After the hitch is installed, raise the exhaust back into place.
Yes. The installation instructions note that the fascia and windshield washer fluid reservoir are removed and reinstalled for the receiver hitch installation. All removed items will be reinstalled unless otherwise noted after the receiver hitch is installed.

Yes. The installation instructions note that some drilling and trimming is required. When using power drills, be aware of the dangers of torque and drill bit length. When using a reciprocating saw, be aware of objects behind the cutting surface. Use a good quality paint to spray cut edges of frame to prevent rusting.
Tighten the 10MM bolts to 31 ft/lbs. These are Grade 8.8 metric bolts (part 201-0422).
Tighten the 1/2" bolts to 119 ft/lbs. These are Grade 8 inch bolts (part 201-1173).
Ensure the teeth of the conical washers are towards the hitch on both the 10MM bolts with 7/16" conical washers (bottom holes) and the 1/2" bolts with 1/2" conical washers (side holes).
Yes. Using a wire brush, clean out the side holes on each side of the frame piece on both sides of the vehicle before installing the bolts.
1. Start two 10MM bolts with 7/16" conical washers into the bottom holes and leave loose on both sides. 2. Install two 1/2" bolts with 1/2" conical washers and hex nuts into the side holes on both sides. 3. Tighten all bolts at this time: 10MM bolts to 31 ft/lbs and 1/2" bolts to 119 ft/lbs.
If the receiver hitch is in an accident, it must be replaced. Do not use it again. An accident can cause unseen damage and using it again could result in more damage or serious injury. Do not use the hitch if it is damaged or missing parts.
