Blue Ox is known internationally for recreational and commercial towing products, manufacturing in Pender, Nebraska since 1925. Blue Ox has manufactured since 1925 and is recognised internationally for towing products and customer service. Towing a car with all four wheels on the ground behind a motorhome demands a system that stays rigid under braking, articulates properly over uneven ground, and connects to the towed vehicle at points strong enough to take the load. Yes. Using an 18MM socket and wrench, remove the two bolts from each tow hook and remove the tow hooks from both sides of the vehicle. The tow hooks are removed and not reinstalled for the baseplate installation.

Attach the permanent baseplate safety cables to the provided convenience link on the baseplate. The cables should be secured to the frame or crossmember of the vehicle. The principle function of the permanent baseplate safety cables is to prevent the towed vehicle from breaking loose in the event the connection between the frame of the towed vehicle and the baseplate fails or becomes disconnected.
Do not mount the permanent baseplate safety cables against wires, hoses or brake lines. The cables must be connected from the baseplate to the frame rail or cross member of the vehicle's frame. Be sure the safety cables do not rub against any hoses or moving parts. If the baseplate is improperly installed and is against a wire or hose, it could cause fluid leaks or electrical shorts some time after the actual baseplate installation.

The BX1743 baseplate is covered by a three-year limited warranty from the date of delivery to the original retail purchaser. The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service. Warranty coverage is valid only if the customer warranty card is returned within 30 days of purchase and a copy of the original invoice accompanies any claim. The warranty is non-transferable and does not cover incorrect or improper installation, improper use, modification, neglect, failure to properly service and maintain, misuse, accident, normal wear and tear, paint or rust.
