Blue Ox is known internationally for recreational and commercial towing products, manufacturing in Pender, Nebraska since 1925. The line covers tow bars and vehicle-specific baseplates for flat towing behind a motorhome, sway control and weight distributing hitches, supplemental braking accessories and towing wiring, backed by patented designs and long-standing customer service.

No, you do not need to remove the bumper. The baseplate mounts using the four existing bolts that secure the bumper shock absorbers to the chassis and the two front bolts from the stabilizer bar mounting brackets. You will remove these bolts to access the mounting points, but the bumper itself stays in place.
1. Remove the two bolts on each side holding the bumper shock absorbers to the car. 2. Remove the front bolt only from both stabilizer bar mounting brackets. 3. Position the upper brackets (which have U-shaped cutouts fitting around the bumper shock absorbers) and hand-start the new 10mm bolts with flat washers and lock washers, using Locktite on all bolts. Do not tighten yet. 4. Loosely assemble the baseplate to the upper brackets using four 1/2" bolts, lock washers and nuts. 5. Position the lower brackets and loosely install the bolts previously removed from the stabilizer bar brackets. 6. Loosely assemble the lower brackets to the baseplate using the remaining four 1/2" bolts. 7. When all bolts align, snug up in sequence and then tighten securely. 8. Install the tow bar and safety cables according to their instructions.
The upper brackets are right and left handed. When positioned on the car, the slotted flanges must be in front of the bumper shock bracket, and the wider slotted flange must be on the outboard side of the car.
